Really spins my dreidel.

I don't know about you, but that building on the left looks like a lot of fun to live in for some reason. It's like Pee-wee's Playhouse, it looks rad.

Communist countries built commieblocks almost exclusively but somehow this is Marxist architecture. Not everything you don't liike is Marxist.

if jews run the world then why is israel such a shit hole?

It's an affront to everything human.

Literally how. Please explain, in depth, how a the shape of a building that you don't live in, or interact with in any way possible, in anyway shape or form affects your day to day life. Im genuinely interested to hear something that resembles a coherent thought from forever bitching traditionalists.

PEE WEE'S FUCKING PENIS PLAY HOUSE IS THE MOST DISTURBING SHOW, TALKING SHIT SHOULD NOT EXIST, IT IS BRAIN GARBAGE, THE ANTITHESIS OF THE NATURAL ORDER, ANTHROPROMOPHIZING FUCKING TOILETS, IT IS WRONG! ALICE IN WONDERLAND IS THE SAME!

Human beings have a natural atraction to certain aesthetics, usually involving things like symmetry. When we see architecture that is aesthetically pleasing lining our streets, it positively impacts our mood and our thoughts in subtle ways. When we see monstrosities like those in OP's pic, it alters our thoughts in other subtle ways which many of us would say are detrimental.

OP your pic is maximalist postmodern garbage but it certainly is not communist-inflected architecture.

picrelated is communist architecture

"Brutalism gained considerable momentum in the United Kingdom during the mid-twentieth century, as economically depressed (and World War II-ravaged) communities sought inexpensive construction and design methods for low-cost housing, shopping centres, and government buildings. Nonetheless, many architects chose the Brutalist style even when they had large budgets, as they appreciated the 'honesty', the sculptural qualities, and perhaps, the uncompromising, anti-bourgeois, nature of the style."

It actually looks kind of cool, as if it's a themed location for some sort of story arc despite it's uniformity and blandness. But I imagine you get constant thoughts of suicide if you live there.

But this is really good and comfy. Too good, it was never done again.

When waliking down the streets would you rather see Romanesque statues or the gigantic chunks of twisted metal we call modern "art" that cities pay millions of dollars for?

This pisses me off to no end, as going there and seeing the work they've done rebuilding so far, the building looks fantastic from the outside, at least when I went, even though they've got ages to go, I don't get why they're so scared of having a museum of their own history. I mean look at us, we aren't ashamed to steal everyone's fucking shite and put in the British Museum even though they bitch at us to send it back. It'd get more people going if they restored it to original glory, like the French Versailles

But the smaller, modernist buildings around it are hideous

Hungarybro posting these, isn't it true that Orban is reconstructing many of the buildings that have been destroyed?

Like, I've heard that this will be rebuilt:
and that the Buda Castle will also be rebuilt, a big modernist building next to the parliament was also torn down last year and will be replaced with a traditional building and so on.

Those many architects deserve to be shot

>But the smaller, modernist buildings around it are hideous

Why are kikes so obsessed with ugliness?
Why doesn't some kike architect just go ''wait a sec, I think I'll create something pleasant to look at?''

Because pic rel.

P.S. Also fuck you neo-Nazi.

Yes and no.
The modernist building next to the Parliament was demolished last year. Originally, they planned to only give it a new, more classicist facade, but the competition was pretty much a failure, since there were no winners. A month later, it miraculously turned out the basement of the building is rotting away, so they decided to demolish it.
Now they are building a new office building for the Parliament with the 1923 facade plans.
The former Museum of Transportation will also be reconstructed with the pre war facade, but with a glass dome (pic related).
Orbán's big dream is to move big ministries to the Castle, like it was before 1945.
In the 90s he ordered the reconstruction of Sándor Palace in the castle district, this is the current presidential palace.
He plans to move to the building next to this palace.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is also moving back to its original building in the castle.
The riding hall, Stöckl-staircase and Crown Guards' Headquarters is under reconstruction (there weren't much debate about this).
But there are big debates about the former building of the Ministry of Defense () and the lost buildings of the square in front of the castle. (((Major architects))) and the leftist media are really against a full reconstruction.
The facade will be most likely reconstructed, but there are still debates about the dome (though that one will also get a full reconstruction at this rate).
There are also debates about the reconstruction of the inside of the castle, since we only know about what the major rooms looked like, we done't know anything about the hundreds of smaller rooms that were lost.

*USSR national anthem echoes in the far distance*

This looks like someone threw a bunch of shoe boxes on top of each other. Gross.

We ain't much better, I mean we've got this down near me

The government also wants to rebuild the former ministry of monetary affairs, but architects are really eager to stop this project. In their opinion the fancy facade would ruin the Matthias church next to it (total bullshit)

Another view if you all wanted to cry

In short: the government most likely wants to rebuild 75% of the Castle district, but most of these projects are still in a planning phase, and as the elections are approaching things are also slowing down around the castle district.
pic related is the reconstruction of the former riding hall a month ago. Now it has a roof and a brick outer wall.

if there's anything that's ruining the Matthias Chruch it's the fugly modernist hotel right next to it. But I'm glad to hear that Orbán is undoing the damage that the war and the commies caused to Budapest. It's the most beautiful city I know and at this rate it's going to be even more beautiful. Do you have any idea when the rebuilding of the castle will commence? Are there any other rebuilding projects? I'd really love to see the modernist hotels between the Chain Bridge and Erzsebet Bridge demolished, and Erzsebet Bridge itself should be reconstructed. Rebuilding the Taban neighbourhood would also be pretty cool.

We shape our buildings, then our buildings shape us

And the Stöckl-staircase roughly a month ago.

>Hungary
>not being based
Pick one

Oh and one more question, there is a massive field of nothing in front of the Sandor Palace and next to the castle. Has it always been that way? Are there any plans to build anything there?

You're still doing much better than Warsaw. For fucks sake, they are trying to rebuild the Saxon Palace for like a decade now. Nothing happens because of the Jew (literally) major blocking it due to insufficient funds, as she transferred them for a new bridge, but earlier she gave like 200 million zloty for the Polish Jews Museum...

The reconstruction will probably take place room-by-room. The only room that will be reconstructed for now is the St Stephen's room (pic related). My friend works in the castle and told me they reconstruction of the room won't start before 2018.
They also have to relocate a bunch of museums from the castle to the City Park to start the major works.
I heard the reconstruction of the castle will most likely start in 2020 (if everything goes well).
I think some politician told that they don't want to rush this project like the commies did so the entire reconstruction will last for 20 years if not more. Honestly, it all depends on the political climate, the castle reconstruction started int eh 90s, but fidesz lost the election in 2002, and the socialist government dropped the rebuilding projects.
The hotels are in private hands so the govt can't do anything about it.
Erzsébet bride is ugly, but its in good condition. Chain bridge or Petőfi Bridge will probably get a full renovation in a few years (like Margharet Bridge).
A dome and a roof will be reconstructed on Kossuth Square, and according to some leaked info, they are planning a major dome/cupola reconstruction around the city.

btw this is what St Stephen's Room looks like now.

Hungary makes me jelly.

I know that feel. these reconstructions are really fragile, they depend on the current leadership's will.
If there's no will, then the project will die by itself.
pic related is the castle before 1945 and today.
Just look how many surrounding buildings were demolished.

...

The Ybl-villa (at the entrance of the castle) was also reconstructed recently.

is it just me or is that a penis building in the back

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck

>according to some leaked info, they are planning a major dome/cupola reconstruction around the city
This is good.

There are so many buildings in Budapest where you can clearly see that something is missing, like that building in the corner of Andrassy ut and Bajcsy-Zsislinszky ut that you posted.

What is Jobbik's opinion on all these reconstruction projects? I've heard that there's a slight possibility that Fidesz might not get a majority and would have to go into a coalition with them after the next election.

Get the fuck out of here, manchild.

>What is Jobbik's opinion on all these reconstruction projects
Dunno. They never made an official statement. They only criticized the costs of the new office building next to the Parliament, that's all. Though they most likely also want to bring back the pre-1944 state of the city (like fidesz did in 2013, when Kossuth square was reconstructed and they've rebuilt the statues that were demolished by the commies). A coalition sounds kind of impossible, to be honest.
The Museum of Applied Arts will get a small extension. Originally, they planned a modernist glass facade, but the government said they want to see the original plans for the taxpayers' money.
So they are sticking to the original, 1872 extension plans (the smaller building on the left).
The libshit tears were delicious.

...

So they got rid of some twiddly bits, who cares?

>Just look how many surrounding buildings were demolished.
Why are commies such subhuman scum?

>So they got rid of some twiddly bits
The other way around, those twiddly bits were rebuilt, son.

Why is Hungary so based? We have a lot to learn from you.

The Castle was the defenders' last stand, so it was barely more than rubble. And they used that opportunity to not rebuild most "reactionary" buildings there. It's a miracle that the Royal Palace was reconstructed at all.

Man, when it comes to architecture Fidesz is truly based. They may have their flaws, but at least they actively try to make Budapest a beautiful city to live and visit.

These buildings gave people a a national pride. Commies tried to overcome this pride with bigger and fancier buildings (Seven Sisters, Lenin skyscraper, stalinist metro stations, etc) during the Stalin era. After Stalin's death, they gave up on this and -influenced by the cheaper French panel technology- started to remove these old buildings, hence removing history itself.

Le Corbusier was Nazi but stormfags are just too stupid

I like modern art when it doesn't look like shit or when it's not built on existing masterpieces.
Look at the Washington Dulles Airport. It breathes "futurism"

What the actual fuck. The post-1995 buildings look like they came out from the darkest days of the 70s

Le corbusier was an autistic collaborator.
He was degenerate and acted like a complete faggot.
Also: personally, I'm not impressed by NatSoc architecture.

This killed me inside, you always make fun of us but you don't understand we have literally commie scum in our government. 2 Parties are completly delusional the green and left party......

They know, that's how the meme started.

This it's true for 70% of the oldest memes, they were made to troll the right wingers, but somehow they can't recognize irony.

You are shallow of soul

This.

OP, you can't just call anything you don't like commie shit.

>baiting with every word
Just kill yourself. Modern art has nothing to do with Marxism or Communism you mainstream meteor. First ant houses were build in industrial revolution, first modern crazy looking blocks were build after Socialism. When did Commies build such crazy shit?

What is it about jews and unaesthetic abstract "modern" art? Whether it's weird cube architecture or paintings that are just paint splatters, it's always this garbage. What happened to the days where art was made to cause an emotional response? Now it's all sterile, cold, and unemotional.

FUCK

I sympathize with you.

Because Picaso symbolizes anti-classicism and painted big anti-fascist painting. Also because Andy Warhol modernism who inspired all this. But what does Sup Forums know about anything. I doubt retards here seen 100 statues or any museum.

I don't give a fuck, both were made by (((them)))
