He tried unifying a bunch of people who speak different languages, that kinda have similarities. It's literally Yugoslavia across the water. He took a bunch of Italic ethenitc groups, some of which speak fucking German, and united them. He even tried getting nice and Corsica to be part of Italy. He destroyed countless cultures. Italian isn't even a real language. It's just a bastardization of Tuscan
If you ever want to see someone speaking Sicilian, or barese, or napolitan, then go to America. If the itlaianizaiton trend continues, the only place to see rational cultures will be America
And he's a fucking commie. Did I say that already?

Garibaldi was a buffoon but Mazzini was alright.
Nice was just because he was born there.
Logan Cooper
I think you mean he WAS an idiot, afaik he's been dead for more than a century...
Samuel Morris
He was also a Freemason and an enemy of the Church.
Juan Campbell
Well, yeah
Easton Adams
Didn't Mazzini also support A pan-European state?
Landon Garcia
I knew he hated the church but I didn't know about the freemasons. Probably explains a lot
Jaxson Bailey
You guys should read Il Gattopardo, it's a good historical novel set during the Italian Unification, specifically Garibaldi's invasion of Sicily.
Brandon Martinez
I read the synopsis. It's basically how every Sicilian-American/Canadian/Australian feels
Leo Robinson
Invaded and your culture trampled upon?
Colton Gomez
Yep. I once had an Italian teacher form Rome and she literally insulted Sicilian-New Yorkers culture in front of a class full of sicilians and you can only imagine how that went
Bentley Garcia
Correction, she insulted sicilians in front of Sicilian New Yorkers
Alexander Sanchez
It's fun how people (especially many uneducated Americans) assume that European countries are culturally homogeneous. Even though racially they (mostly) are, we are closer to being confederations of smaller nations united under a single government. Take the cases of Spain, Germany and Italy, for instance.
Levi Long
you can balkanize any country like that if you scrutinize enough
Thomas Rogers
It's more like the special snowflake difference between them are utterly trivial
Hudson Price
Kys jew. Italy is best country. Best language. Best culture. Most intelligent people there are. Nobody picks Italy. Everybody picks Jizzrael
Cooper Campbell
You wouldn't consider the North, South, Midwest and West Coast the same, would you?
Maybe if you've never left your house you would, but those differences aren't exactly small. Across the pond, the differences are more noticeable.
Kayden Bell
The funny thing is the only people that really understand that are Italian Americans because their parents raised them to say their from their city or Provence. If you ask everyone in Brooklyn where their from, unless they really don't know, they'll say bari, Sicily, Naples, Calabria, milan, etc.
Irish don't realize how different northern Irish are
Ukrainians and even some polish (the stupid ones) call themselves Russians, a long with people from other former soviet republics
Germans call themselves German Spainiards (except for me) call themselves Spanish
Lucas Morris
Balkanisons Italy makes a lot more sense than Balkanize get America for example
Josiah White
Italians didn't even speak the sa,w language until the early 1900s when somebody decided everyone should speak the same language so they picked the Tuscan dialect, changed some rules, and called it Italian
Brayden Torres
The Balkanization of America is immanente, it's only a matter of time. If Catalonia breaks away that will trigger a whole Balkanization crisis in Europe, which will make its way across the world.
In 10 years southerner secretley hoping the south will rise again won't be afraid to say it out loud

>tfw grandfather literally speaks sicilian It sounds really wierd
Jaxson Lewis
I speak both languages quite fluently, but I'm still divided internally over what I should consider myself. Should I consider my bloodline or the place I grew up in?
Thomas Collins
>the only place to see rational cultures will be america You mean the place that brings together and unites various ethnic groups and cultures. Why are you fucking retarded?
Robert Fisher
I also have Sicilian and English blood so I really consider myself 4 things just like everyone else in America. My grandparents actually did a good job assimilating so I unfortunately don't speak a word of any of those
Even though I'm American I still like to look into European provincial nationalism
Kayden Murphy
Bar France, Russia and Spain other European nations are way more homogeneous
Charles Myers
I have friends that speak Sicilian and until they got to high school Italian class they thought they were speaking Italian
Adrian White
Wogs can't be Australian or Canadian. Our civilizations are Northern European British Dominions. The rest are just visiting
Thomas Cooper
France you can divide into occitania, nice, the French basqu country, Roussillon, Brittany, and Normandy. Also Dunkirk belongs to Flanders
Spain has the Castilian, Andalus, basques, galicians, catalans, cantabrians, leonese, araginese
Russia I'm not sure about but I'm sure you can divide it even more
Sebastian Sanders
>on this map places where Italian is spoken I'm also familiar with the Greeks and asians in Australia
Tyler Fisher
Nah, ethnic Russians, except those who mixed with subhuman cockholes in the Far East are really really similar. It's nonwhite small regions that are cancer. Must be fucking kicked out: nonwhite, subsidy sucking, inbred, low iq. No diversity and more money is a winning formula
David Green
Fantastic map. They are not Northern European or Anglo-Celtic. They have to go back.
Gavin Lopez
Wha about the Cossacks? They're not Russian are they?
Hudson Edwards
Italy got unified basically for the same reason the EU is pushing for a unified Europe: more power against foreign countries. Plus, obviously economic reasons for Piemonte to get the whole Italy for itself. Most of the struggles of the South go way back to the unification, where one-size-fit-all laws, rules and schemes were applied to radically different societies.
I love Italy as a whole. It's a beautiful country for its incredible variety, but the unification meme should be changed with something more federalistic and respectful of the histories and cultures of the Italian regions.
We were and still very proud and different from each other. Changes and (((progress))) find some tough bones here. The reason we are speaking the same language is basically just the television, starting from the 50s. Imagine what must've felt to be in the army during the world wars, not being able to understand half of what the fuck were your comrades saying.
Asher Nguyen
That Russian is drunk there are dozens of cultures in Russia.
Levi Reed
Also, Garibaldi was just naive. Read his testament. It's quite heartfelt and bitter, knowing what happened afterwards.
He really just wanted a glorious nation to stand against the widespread jewery.
Michael Sanders
Good point about the army, but Switzerland gets by pretty fine with 4 different languages being spoken
Anyway I'm sure you could've done like a HRE thing
Samuel Smith
So you're gonna deport like half the country?
Bentley Baker
The unholy not-roman Arch-Duchy was not an agreed on thing. It was the result of hundreds of years of wars and treaties, inbred dumb Emperors and French antics.
Ryan Watson
Wogs are what? 700k? 1,5-2 mil Asians? Not much cleansing to do. Not your homeland, never will be.
Daniel Anderson
Hopefully.
Yea, Melbourne has the highest concentration of Greeks outside of Athens. Yes, that includes other Greek cities.

In many cases, yes, but in others nations are made up of kindred peoples.

Ain't that the truth. It's only a matter of time before this happens. Some people will be shocked. Not me.
Aiden Perez
Russians have the cringiest memes
William Sanders
Almost every country should be smaller than it is. It's small countries like Albania, or Greece that are fine
Josiah Rivera
Agreed.
Carson Powell
XIX century nationalism was a leftist ideology by the spectrum of its times. The "right" were conservative christian monarchists, supporters of rule by divine right and heredity. The leftists were all sorts of "republic of citizens" ideologues, supported a rule by "the people" whether on an internationalist class basis or on a national identity one.

It's still geographically the Italian peninsula, hence all regional languages are Italian.
Ethan Perry
The regional languages are different. It became one in the 50s
Wyatt Gonzalez
Numerous reactionary and monarchist elements were rooted in folkish and racialist ideals Is he wrong? Meds didn't built Australia, Germanics and Anglos did.
