mozilla is partnering up with George Soros to curb fake news. it should still be usable, but that's something to consider. I think people recommend waterfox or palemoon. waterfox is closer to the current firefox, while palemoon focuses on privacy.

Also use Comodo Dragon (Chrome fascia) and Comodo Ice Dragon (Firefox fascia) for browser. Regular Dragon probably phones home since it's still chrome, but is a hell of a lot more secure and functions on all sites. Plus, IceDragon is slow as shit.
