those tiger dudes are they SAA conscripts? are they part of the professional army (or whats left of it) ? are they a mercenary group owned by someone like suqur al sahara ? whats their deal? i mean the republican guards, the only other semicompetent saa troops, are regular professional soldiers, like the pretorians of the regime. did the tigers exist pre-war ?

Not that they'll do shit. They've been saying they're ready to go into Afrin for two months now, and it has amounted to nothing. If they by some chance do capture territory, they'll most likely hand it over to their moderate terrorist buddies as with al-Bab.

So it seems the Tiger was brought back to South Raqqa thanks to the utmost of randomness, chaotic and recklessness. They'll probably head to Maadan after securing the villages.
Ayden Reyes
Tigers were created during the war. Then colonel suheil al-hassan was tasked with creating a special forces regiment that could be called upon to fight everywhere. While some of the tiger forces may be conscripts, you have to be hand-picked in order to be a part of them. The selection process is difficult to go through, only the most motivated and devoted of people can serve in the tiger forces. No official number behind the tiger forces is known, bet they are believed to number between 1,500 and 3,000 soldiers. Consider that the republican guard is numbered at about 25k to 30k. Only the best of the best in the SAA van serve in the tiger forces.
Ayden Hall
Dutch autist, Jimmy shitposted on some ISIS channel, trying to bait them into terrorism that he would then report to the cops before happening. The cops arrested Jimmy, suspected of planning terrorist attacks. Telegram got shut down.

>Video footage of the Syrian Army capturing new points near the Jordanian border BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:10 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army renewed their offensive in southern Syria, Sunday, targeting the Free Syrian Army’s (FSA) remaining positions in the Badiya Al-Sham area.
Led by the 5th Corps, the Syrian Arab Army stormed several points along the Jordanian border, including the 164th Garrison.
The Syrian Army would capture these points on Sunday afternoon, following the collapse of the Free Syrian Army’s defenses near the Jordanian border. Hezbollah’s official media wing released video footage on Sunday evening of this advance; it shows the SAA units taking control of new points from the Free Syrian Army. As a result of this advance, the Syrian Arab Army captured more than 200 square of territory from the Free Syrian Army, while also pushing further east towards the Tanf Crossing. almasdarnews.com/article/video-footage-syrian-army-capturing-new-points-near-jordanian-border/ Video in link
You can't really be too picky in the middle of a massive civil war, the potential tigers probably get picked based on their performance in battle.

I remember this. The tiger was tasked with recapturing idlib city. He began a good campaign, but it was literally just the tiger forces fighting. Regular saa was close to non-existant. He had asked for reinforcements to hold and defend recaptured towns, but they would never be supplied. It sucked for him, because the loss of idlib was all in due part to lack of manpower and he was expected to lead a successful recapture of a major city with just 1,500 men.
