>Information technology runs the modern economy >Movement from physical to digital currency >Even wage-cucks have smartphones and internet connectivity >Various corporations have immense influence on political matters >Increasing concerns about Cyber-terrorism, U.S military confirmed to be studying memetics. >How much dislikes a Norwegian thot gets on her coal burning music video gets on state televised news >The gap between rich and poor continues to increase, middle class is disappearing >The start of advanced AI and genetic modification as well as robotic limbs. >Ever increasing erosion on our personal freedoms by governments, even what we post online is being policed. >Talk of implanting entire populations with computer chips "for convenience".
It's kind of surreal that a concept I thought looked so futuristic back in the late 90s and early 2000s now doesn't seem that far-off. I'm constantly connected to the internet via my pc/smartphone and most of our daily lives revolve around its use. Plus the last month has been chaotic with the systematic censorship happening everywhere and ridiculous arrests that have been going on in some really cucked countries. Last but not least the corporate giants continue to tighten their grip on the world.
So guys, where do we go from here? Are you prepared for this new age?
Really regret getting social media. Now I have an entire file on me most likely.

looking out my window, it doesnt look very cool or cyberpnk.

Is this a meme? Or is it reality already?

I'm going back to a flip phone. It's cheaper and I'm a shut in anyway so I can just use the smart phone to surf this shithole and pay a fraction for a flip phone.

What conspiracies from Deus Ex have turned out to be true?
Nigga, we've been in cyberpunk in the last decade or so. Just no one has taken note of it.
Luke Ortiz
>>Ever increasing erosion on our personal freedoms by governments, even what we post online is being policed. No, the difference is the public WILLINGLY DID IT TO THEMSELVES. Facebook and Twitter are the antithesis of the internet as we knew it 10 to 20 years prior where anonymity was the standard. Making the internet more accessible to the dumb masses and offering them social-status "points" for disclosing their own personal lives and personal information through what can be considered the female version of online pornography is the reason it's now so easy to police online discourse through coercion and online lynch-mobbing.
Nobody would be able to repress others into silence if online speech had maintained the prior standard of anonymity being the status quo. Or at the very least everyone continuing to use pseudonyms.
Add to that the consolidation of available venues for discussion and the result is largely self-inflicted by the public itself. It didn't take any regulations for this to take place. It was the result of widespread user error plus the market consolidating into a near monopoly.
Noah Lewis
I only got a smartphone because the telecom company gave them out to long time customers, and we had their phone, internet and cable TV for a while now
would never spend that kind of money for a fucking phone lel
Robert Peterson
The term I like to use is techno-feudalism. The future of our society is seen in places like San Francisco and New York City. Places that are so fucking expensive that everyone lives as atomized individuals in shoebox apartments barely scraping by to survive while the (((elites))) sit up in their ivory skyscrapers. A small band of the jewgle ZOGites surrounded by a sea of atomized nu-males and shitskins placated by gibs to keep the whole thing afloat. Hell, jewgle is even installing their own apartments for their employees. It's full-blown techno-feudalism.
Alexander Wright
You can't paint the whole picture in terms of the little man getting screwed. The proliferation of smartphones is pissing the powerful off too because everything they do is being recorded and leaked onto social media for the lulz. Also botnets with unencrypted IoT devices will wreak more havoc than before for corporations online.

Ok then Sup Forums, so tell me, when do you see the cracks starting to appear with the current capitalistic system because no one has been able to even guess when this starts.
Ian Nguyen
No, seriously, this is a great sim if you want to fund a private military company to assassinate pro-human rights politicians with illicit organ farming business money, or destabilize nations with Soros-style paid agitators until the government collapses and you can found a corporate socialism police state

No, this is the cyber era, not the cyberpunk era, there is no "punk" aspect to it.
What most science fiction conveniently left out is that in societies such as they envisioned it's actually impossible to have those small resistance pockets, living off the grid, earning money outside of the mainstream economic system, doing cool stuff but still somehow escaping the Leviathan, and so on.
It's just boot, face, forever.
William Brown

If anything automation will mean free shit and gibsmedat for the poorest in developed nations.
The chinks and indians will probably cannibalize themselves >tfw you replace 100000 sweatshop workers with one machine/AI >tfw they all starve for a while and start trying to burn companies down

The age of Aeries began when Moses created religious/moral law. (the god is the nation (or whoever controls it)), the one who upholds the now sacred law) The age of Pisces began when Jesus became the most successful martyr of all time. (the god is conviction in one's actions) The age of Aquarius began when Kennedy was killed on live television. (the god is the collective perception)

Everyone says automation but I never see anyone talk about 3d printing technology. Pic related is a fully functioning 3d printed ak 47. And the machine that was used to make it only cost $250. Just wait a few more years. Eventually people will start 3d printing playstations and iphones and countries like china and india will fall apart.
Austin Collins
I've been thinking about this, people are starting to isolate themselves based on their website preference. For example, a lot of this Alt-left vs Alt-right is really Reddit vs Sup Forums.

No, you'll see the full extend of the dystopian cyberpunk era in about 33 years. There's still too many people originating from the pre-cyberspace era. Architecture has to be more dull, the food has to taste less, music has to be more repetitive. Everything needs to be depressing and unrewarding. It has to numb you. You'll want to escape it.
You'll want to have your senses fully augmented, your body rented out and controlled by an external source in order to be completely immersed in the virtual reality that is so much more entertaining. You won't be one anymore. You'll be the conciousness of multiple identities and experience each one of them in your virtual world like a grand theatrical play.
Body and mind will be seperated. This world for us, the afterlife for them.
