This will be a GOP+Dem effort. It has to be because Dems won't have the votes to even get impeachment through in the house. The more bad information that comes out about the Trump campaign, the more Trump appears to be wildly incompetent (Harvey could be horrible for him), the easier it is for GOP members of Congress to justify a yes on impeachment. And, the thing is, most likely it won't go to a vote. Most likely when it becomes clear that they have the votes Trump will just resign, which is the best outcome for everyone.

It literally is how it works. Impeachment is not up to judicial review. The definition of "high crimes and misdemeanors" is completely at the discretion of Congress, and if you know anything about the meaning of the phrase "high crimes and misdemeanors" within the context of the 18th century, you would know it refers to basically any abuse of power. Impeachment is a POLITICAL process, not a legal one, thus it has nothing to do by construction with legal statues. That's why the President is punished / removed from office but NOT imprisoned as a result of his removal.

No, they couldn't. There is a system of checks and balances between the three branches. For overt violation of the constitution - a fraudulent charge - could actually result in the Supreme Court issuing restraining order, and allow the president to declare martial law, and have the conspirators arrested, tried, and executed for treason. NO ONE, not even congress, has ultimate power over the other 2 branches. The supreme court and commander in chief against treasonous conspirators. Not even close. The military will be compelled to side with the president and the supremes. Just as a lowly district court can put a restraining order on the president, the supreme court may impose one upon congress. Leftist tards shouldn't have set that precedent....
