It is worth mention that Paradox raised prices for some old games before Steam sale that way even with 50-75% discount they were cost as much as before price rise. That's the actual problem with them. Their DLC politic is not that bad, if you take into consideration their games are 3/4 years old and still have a dedicated team working on it. The content of those is very debatable (there are good ones, and very shitty ideas, those fucking Aztecs in CK2) but it's the long term pricing policy who fuck it up.
You want to join the bandwagon? Better bring your shekel wheelbarrow, goyim, you're in for some anal play. It's 300 euros for EU IV. So either you started to follow the damn thing since the release of the game, and it's somewhat mitigated for you, or you take it like a pornstar, smile and all. And their recent scam of "correlating" the prices was a really bad move.
If you put aside the pricing matter, though, there are good games, and they do actually try to improve them, even f it somewhat looks a trial-and-error process every so often. The exception may be Hearts of Iron IV, who was heavily casualized, because they couldn't even understand how HoI III worked, less keeping the challenging parts in the new game.
