Harris County Official Rundown >Officers cannot access calls >Multiple people trapped >Fatalities are being called >High-Water rescues and Airlifts taking place now >Minor looting has started >Major flooding continues >National Guard, Cajun Navy, USCG, US Navy, and Border Patrol On-Site
Reservoir Rundown >Water released from Barker and Addicks Reservoirs, 4000cf/s from each >Water depth at Addicks dam is 108.36 feet and rising >Dam Edge: Highest 115.5 feet, Lowest 108 feet >108 foot North edge is beginning to overspill >Other levees breaching
It's hard to say because it's still flooded, but I don't think so. Definitely going to be in the hundreds at least.
Christopher Torres
I think worse, given the population density and how people are dumbasses and refuse to leave their homes.
Further, they've only rescued a few thousand people, which means there's way way more that haven't been rescued yet.
I'm going to say at least 10,000 but if the dams fail, who knows?

user here from previous thread...
Anons...My bitch of an ex-wife is staying for the next wave of the hurricane hit. She lives in Lake Charles ( Westlake to be exact). She has my children and I need to know what are the likely chances of this area getting fucked just like Houston. If so, I need to leave now.
Shes trying to downplay it like nothings wrong but I went through Katrina when I was 18 and its not the initial hurricane Im worried about. its those damn flood waters rising.
Help an user out. I may have to get my kids but everyone is telling me to chill and everythings fine.
In Lafayette, Louisiana currently. My ex is basically telling me Im having Katrina flashbacks and that I need to calm down and it isnt that bad. My family is telling me similar things.
I already called a buddy from work who is running errands out there and he says the roads are already flooded into westlake and the hurricane hasnt even hit there yet.
But it may just stay as a tropical storm.
I was supposed to start two jobs today user and now im worrying about my kids drowning. I also have a mini suv but only two wheel drive. I couldnt go in there to get them if i wanted to.

Nah, probably 3-400 at most. Katrina got bad when the levee broke and flooded an area below sea water where a bunch of dindus who dindu evacuate lived.
Some nice bullfrogs hanging out in flooded Beaumont road.

The city proper has 2m+ people, and the entire surrounding area has what, 8m? New Orleans only had 1m or so when Katrina hit.
It's really just a numbers game, and honestly there's still so many variables that I wouldn't put any money on it but I seriously wouldn't be shocked if it was 10k or more. I also wouldn't be surprised if it's only a few hundred. It's an either/or at the moment.
>Addicks is at 108.73. It just keeps rising. There's another levee that's about to wholesale fail in Brazoria.

Right now I'd say maybe a few hundred. Ask me again on Friday or Saturday. If it doubles back and pounds again or dams break or whatever perfect storm of fuckery occurs, I'd say tens of thousands.
I really don't think people are taking this seriously enough.

I fully expect death toll to be lower, but the property damage to be higher then Katrina
