Alot of things should not touch water, user. Let alone sit in it for an extended amount of time. With the mix of dirt and shit in it, it leads to unsanitary circumstances. And even once the water recedes, you got to worry about killer mold and rot.
My basement recently flooded with 5 feet of water. Everything down there was ruined.
