On the islands, very pale people would be found in the same populations as somewhat swarthy (by NW Europe standards) people. Obviously oldest 'Iberian' arrivals had much longer to select for light skin due to the situation of cloud cover over Britain & Ireland, whereas Iberians who came perhaps 10,000 or 5,000 years ago would be responsible for the Black Irish phenotype.
