the response hurricanes towards a warmer climate is quite a bit more complicated than people here try to pretend.
In fact, climatologists expect that the total number of hurricanes will decrease with time, because of increased horizontal windshear in the upper atmosphere.
But there are two other aspects to this which are very significant:
I) it's been predicted by models and actually observed that the storm tracks are moving poleward (especially in the Atlantic). That's apparent, not only when looking at cloud data, but also when you look at what latitude hurricanes have historically reached their peak intensity.
II) while the total number of hurricanes will likely decrease, the number of severe hurricanes (Categories 4 and 5 in the Saffir-Simpson scale) will likely increase, because of increased tropospheric water vapor.
That's very dangerous because these few, very powerful storms have done the bulk of the damage historically

The global average temperature increased by almost 1c. That means the entire atmosphere taken as a whole rose by nearly 1c.
The climate change we are experiencing right now is a direct result of global warming. It is unlike any other warming event Earth as gone though, as far back as we can infer.
Just because it's at the point of no return doesn't mean we should keep pouring greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. We can and still are making it worse. It's a slow change, but it's happening.
That being said changing things isn't easy either. As said before, farms produce tons of green house gasses. We need things like trucks for modern society to function. We don't know of anything that has the properties fossil fuels do, especially when it comes to being portable, relatively safe to handle, and energy dense.
At this point it's more "How do we deal with climate change" instead of "How do we fix climate change".
