Developments Sep 2 THE HORN OF HELM DEIR EZZOR SHALL SOUND IN THE DESERT, ONE LAST TIME
*SAA advanced from Jabal Bishri, deployed within striking range of ash-Shola, now within 25km to DeZ *SAA enters Uqayribat, IS counter-attack to expel them. Reports SAA withdrew from Jruh, Uqayribat & Naimiyah, fighting ongoing >Hez, IS to exchange prisoners near DeZ border >Ru FM: Sy de-escalation zones pose no danger to Israel’s security >Jihadist rebels launch surprise assault in west Aleppo >US-backed SDF captures Darayeh area from IS in Raqqah >Rebel civil war in Idlib: HTS fights against al-Zenki Movement >US-backed forces in SE Syria sell arms to IS last
No, they aren't. To be fair, they are important, but they aren't occupied by ISIS. No one like the SDF is going to swoop in and take it anytime soon. In addition, those zones are under ceasefire arrangements atm.
Carson Ross
Juck, that shit ain't natural.

>that gay guy in charge of the Tiger forces
Speaking of which.. WARNING: INCOMING HERESY!
I know all you guys are gay for the Tiger, but does anyone actually have any hard evidence of his supposed tactical genius? I'm not even talking about strategic genius because his rank isn't high enough to be making strategic decisions, those are made above his head. And it's no use citing the numerous battlefield successes of the Tiger Forces as those COULD be due to his personal genius, but could also be (and much more likely to be) due to the elite nature of the unit itself and the obvious priority assigned to it by the Syrian General Staff, which endows it with the latest technology, experienced troops, plentiful supplies, and fire support. The unit is clearly designed to be a "strike force" of the Syrian Army and the Syrian Army entrusts it with leading pretty much all major operations. Sure, since the General Staff entrusted Suheil with leading such a "strike force" in the first place, they must have thought that he is at least a decent leader, but in a country like Syria that could mean political reliability just as much as it could mean battlefield performance. Also, that was back in 2013 and ever since his popularity blew the fuck up, dismissing or demoting him had become rather difficult I imagine, more difficult than it is normally - which is saying something. So for all I know he could actually be a rather mediocre tactical leader with a huge penchant for media attention and largely undeserved fame. Hell, I am not even convinced that Suheil Hassan that's leading the Tiger Forces now is the same Suheil Hassan that was leading it prior to 2015 lol.
Adam Murphy
Nearly all thought the Tigers would be the first to reach DeZ from the north not the 5th legion advancing from the south.
Grayson Nelson
What is the width of the Euphrates in that region?
Nicholas Jones
cont. Also consider the reverse - you guys think it's all jokes and fun to hype up Mr. Fabulous, but for Syria this can actually be a long term problem, because a country cannot have two leaders and this guy's popularity literally rivals that of Assad himself at this point. This guy is to Assad is kind of like what Zhukov was to Stalin, and Zhukov was pretty lucky that Stalin died in 1953 and that there weren't any more meaningful crises in the Soviet government until his death. Had circumstances been slightly different, he may have not outlived Stalin. The truth is that the Tiger's accumulated popularity is a source of potential instability in post-war Syria, both foreign powers and domestic groups unsatisfied with the direction taken by Damascus will keep trying to influence the Tiger and rally around him as their protection and alternative, and then if a fallout happens, we're either back to civil war or some similar serious crisis.

Interesting read about Kurds vs Arabs in Raqqa
>Potential for fallout over who will run Raqqa as some Arabs are wary that the Kurds are trying to dominate the region
>Another danger once Daesh falls is of a backlash among Raqqa’s Sunni Arab population against the Kurds. Many in the community deeply resent Kurdish ambitions and see their hopes for self-rule as intended to break apart the country.
The k*rds are commies, subhumans, traitors, manipulative insects who are nothing more than US puppets. In the words of the Great Bosniak K*rd Genocider himself: The k*rds must be destroyed.
Adam Perry
Most of our energy about the Kurds is spent explaining to normies why Turkey and Syria won't allow an independent Kurdistan taking land from both.
The Kurds in Syria are currently pressuring ISIS on Trump's orders.
