Warmer oceans do cause stronger, wetter storms sure. The Paris deal wouldn't have magically cooled the oceans. It might would have SLIGHTLY mitigated future storms. Humans are bad at planning for events past their own immediate offspring's future. Ideally we would take any $ we save from not entering the climate accord and put it toward reinforcing levees, constructing better sea walls, improving permeability of paved surfaces, and raising up structures. Unfortunately, all the current administration seems to care about is thoughtlessly undoing the previous administration's policies without thinking about ways to improve them.

1) calling ice caps anomalies is misleading at best. Glacial caps have regularly been present during icehouse stages of earth
