So he says autistic shit that leads to infighting like support of the EU or opposing the RAISE Act. Along those same lines he positioned himself as a big fish in a small pond by securing the support of the TRS and DS crowd. He was attempting to perform the old trick in extremist politics and posture himself as the Good Cop to Anglin and Enoch's Bad Cop. I think that Charlottesville wasn't a failure per se, but revealed the inherent weaknesses of the Alt-Right as a movement. No mainstream figure besides maybe Ann Coulter said anything besides "blaming both sides equally" or "bashing fash". Basically extremist politics in the West functions as a game of good cop bad cop where the moderate elements extract political concessions using the bogeyman of the extremist elements. The Alt-Right is a bad cop in want of a good cop.
So basically while Charlottesville wasn't a success it isn't a mortal blow for the movement, it just revealed the weaknesses of the movement. I think that it could grow from the 9 to 12% threshold to maybe 1/3 of the White population, but ultimately will remain a politically irrelevant movement for the foreseeable future. Good take that Breitbart could be next. The ADL puts Cernovich on the same lists as Anglin so that's absolutely possible.
