I've given up on my parents. It's like dealing with an alzheimers patient. I've have several breakthroughs with them in immigraiton, multiculturalism, economic sustainability, SJWism. There has been moments when they legitimately found points thoughtworthy. But they ALWAYS revert back and act like they forget everything. They go right back to watching MSNBC and CNN, and move on. They'll never "get it" until they personally suffer, and I don't necessarily want that.
So I've given up. I just try to maintain a good relationship with them, and hopefully grandchildren will make them start thinking about the far future again.

She was really receptive towards that. Once you understand that, the only real connecting factor between now (media narratives, education) and the last 150 years of communist thought is Jews. Then talk about why, and how intensely communist and Jewish group interests intersect. It's hard to tell how sincerely she takes the Jew part, or if she just humors me, but I think introducing it to her first as a communist thing really softened her up; first, it's easy to connect it later to the JQ, and second it provides a concrete reason to see the JQ as something other than prejudiced hysteria. Cos if anything turns Boomer-tier conservatives off more than anti-Semitism, it's communism.

My father passed away about six years ago now. I was twenty one and not invested in politics at all, but thought racism was bad and all that basic shit. He went through about a two year period of watching WWII documentaries, and reading non-stop online. I thought this was normal, since he was in his late 40s and that's just something people do at that age.
Only recently did I realize that he said several things about the numbers not exactly lining up surrounding the holocaust, and that history is written by the victor, but always semi-flippantly.
