Are we talking about Germany. If so, German tradition of challemging the World goes back to Prussians. Hitler wasn't anything exceptional.
Tbh I think that something like this could easily start again, but not because of believes or a "pure race", but because of food, water and maybe living space (Lebensraum?). Nowadays we have way beter technology and people are better educated (mind you, not all people, there still are some god damn retards running around e.g. extreem left and right). So fighting for believe or race won't be a big thing, but for food wouldn't be a strage guess. Atleast that's what I think.
