People who want any chance at being famous must tow the political line. I try not to look at the twitter feed of my favorite artists because if they're some bernie cuck or with HER or some shit it will ruin it every time I hear their music.
It's not even bands like that risk everything though. I listen to a lot of independent music across a lot of genres and they all seem to hold very similar leftist beliefs.

There was about a billion articles screaming about how metal was "too white and male". It was a shaming campaign, basically. But when shaming didn't work, they move on to Stage 2, which is infiltration/shoehorning. Then the usual tactics will begin, where clubs will sign contracts and agree to only host ideologically-aligned musicians, locking out anyone deemed making "hate music" or some other thought-terminating cliche. That's how they'll take over the whole genre.

Because leftist musicians went to art school, where they drive in the SJW shit way harder than other schools (so that the artists aren't tempted to push boundaries and be edgy, because art is one of the ways cultural movements are started and anti leftist art could hurt (((them))) too much if people start to like it). However, that's just people in the industry. With a lot of new rappers who got famous on soundcloud, they are definitely not leftist, some even networking with people like sam hyde over social media. These people became famous completely on their own, and are showing industry musicians that all the label shit is BS and artists don't have to appease (((them))) to be successful and make money anymore, which is a good thing.

Allow me to explain:
A scene is more like a big mass of people congregating in a circle. There are various rings of course, the further out tends to be the lesser well known. In the center of the circle, lies the stars. These are the individuals in which, the media/producers/etc. shine a light on. These are the big money makers or famous/infamous etc. Everyone outside of the spotlight, is striving to drive towards that center.
Now, each musical genre has its own scene in a regard - but one fundamental thing doesn't really change - and that's largely who's in charge of the media/producers etc. So what you'll typically see is that certain values or aesthetics or patterns are rewarded more than others. The mass then tends to conform around this. Sure some will choose to remain independent from this influence, but those who stray from the path to the center, will not reap near the same rewards.
There are other aspects for example that play into this, based on each scene. Rock or Punk typically coalesces around anti-authoritarianism or rebellion. Rap will tend more towards gangs or drugs etc.
Another factor that plays into this, is who you're marketing it too. Some rural guy probably isn't gonna be as into rap based around being an inner city black in a gang. He can't relate to it. Likewise, some chick cramming to get through college doesn't want to hear something like Marty Robins.
A large part of this will be in marketing though. And certain ideas will be more easy to market, or more easier to manage in the media. So producers will tend to seek those out.
Now that said, leftwing groups such as Refuse Fascism, BAMN, BLM, Redneck Revolt/JBGC or Antifa all follow this model. Its basically a hallmark of leftist collective masses. At the center there will be a few, who gain privileges/receive funding and/or escapes retribution for their action. Everyone else is just trying to get to there.
