>One often reads that the AfD is the first German far-right political force with strong chances at federal parliamentary representation since World War II. But that’s not strictly accurate: Such forces have always been present in the Bundestag under the CDU’s respectable cover. Merkel’s unacknowledged attempt to exorcise them may even present an existential threat to the CDU once her political career is over. bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-09-07/merkel-s-cdu-isn-t-as-centrist-as-it-looks
Didn't Helmut Kohl warn Angela Merkel, his hand-picked successor, never to let a viable party form to the right of the CDU?
For the first time since Kohl was running the show, there is finally a viable party in the AfD to the right of the CDU.
I can't wait for the election results.

I'm encouraging German anons to get their friends to lie in public about their intentions ("Refugees welcome!") then vote for the AfD anyway.
I think a lot of disillusioned German voters can be convinced to vote AfD simply to keep some pressure on Merkel.
>"There's no question that Merkel is going to win again. That's why I'm voting AfD this time around."
>"Let's keep Merkel honest! Vote AfD"

apparently a faction of CDU was/is pretty much AfD already, so they're hypocrites

Fake news he basically just said stop whining you jews and get over it

Yes that's true and look here It's basically over for the CDU when the AFD makes everything right and becomes what the CDU actually stands for in the 90s
CDU can choose between becoming even more left and lose all conservative voters or make a coalition with the AFD 2022 election will be funny to watch

why did kohl say this? did he expect her to be a cucked disgrace?

Obvious (((media))) shilling for the (((CDU))). The success of the so fat CDU was due to it's center-right camouflage but recent events have made that camouflage more transparent therefore there are attempts by the CDU and the media to make that camouflage less transparent against. CDU is throwing a little "alt light" red meat to the goyim and the media are doing controlled opposition coming from the "leftwing" side of the spectrum to boost CDU "center right" credentials.

Many people expected she would rather fit in the greens party but she got in the cdu Everything for power right haha

He spoke of the German state of mind until now as of a "brutally defeated people" and Germany needed a "180-degree turn'' when remembering its past.
The chairman of Germany's Central Council of Jews, Josef Schuster, said that the party had "shown its true face with these anti-Semitic and utterly inhuman words".

When every other party is extreme-left, a centrist will seem far-right.

So does that mean cdu is far right and afd is so far right it goes round the earth and becomes far left?

The statement is correct though. Look at stuff the CDU said two decades ago. It was basically just what the AfD demands nowadays.
It was Merkel who ensured that all those voices are silenced and that everyone who held those believes was bullied out of the party.
Which means that it doesn't really matter because we live in the present and not 20 years ago, but it is still correct that the AfD does not really hold any right wing views that weren't already proposed by other parties in the past. Even the SPD wanted to get rid of all the foreign leeches at some point.
Ian Perez
the problem is that the only reason to give afd a vote is the refuge politics, if merkel acted like an 80s cdu this would not happened. the problem with this is that the afd is totally incompetent beside this one topic.
Jackson Gomez
No. He called the holocaust monument a "monument of shame", as in a constant reminder of the shameful atrocities we committed in the past. And the media turned it into "shameful monument", as in it shouldn't be remembered at all.
All he said was that people should stop obsessing about shit we did wrong in the past and instead look at what we did great.
Nathan James
The success of the CDU was because there was no alternative to them on the right. They could just move more and more to the left to steal voters from the SPD, because they were at no risk of losing their established voter base by doing though. Because who the fuck would those people have voted for otherwise, a party even more left wing? The only option for them was the FDP which was still just a vote for Merkel.
Gavin Diaz
When I was Mexican George all I could say was Bush's Baked Beans, Bush is a Baked Beaner, to myself in a dark room.
this was so cringy. i don't even think she did it on purpose. the imbecile faggots that think this was a strong move need to be shot.
Daniel Butler
Yes, and? The refugee politics are literally the only topic of relevance in the upcoming election. The CDU could have the perfect solution for every other problem, if they also keep the borders open it doesn't fucking matter at all because Germany will just collapse under the burden.
Not like the AfD will get into power anyway though. If we are lucky we get CDU/FDP with a strong AfD in the opposition. As soon as those views are represented in parliament, they cannot ignore them anymore. The only reason it worked up until now was because they all agreed on it. There's no political cost involved in doing something against the will of the voters if there is no party opposing it.

AfD will get into the parliament, thats safe to say, but I hope for 10-11%, that would be devastating for the other Partys, this will maybe destroy coalations between some Partys aswell
cant wait to vote

>Turns out CDU was far-right and we didn't know it Being in line with the right wing of DNC is what is considered "extreme right" in Germany. There is no centrist and no right wing forces in most of Europe. It's all just various shades of communism with no freedom at all.
