ATHEISTS BTFO: Richard Dawkins says Christianity is world's best defence against radical Islam

Despite spending years criticising Christianity, well-known atheist Richard Dawkins is now admitting that Christianity is much better than Islam.

Dawkins even conceded that "Christianity may actually be our best defence against aberrant forms of religion that threaten the world," according to The Gospel Herald.

Dawkins noted that Christianity, unlike Islam, does not make use of violent methods to fulfill its teachings. "There are no Christians, as far as I know, blowing up buildings. I am not aware of any Christian suicide bombers. I am not aware of any major Christian denomination that believes the penalty for apostasy is death," he said.

He admitted that he has "mixed feelings" concerning the decline of Christianity, because this faith-based group might just be "a bulwark against something worse."

I have a friend, she's very conservative on most issues (very smart, ivy league person), but when i talk to her about immigration she says she believes in "the most immigration possible", and when I explain the obvious problems she just is unwilling to even hear it... she just changes the subject. This is another case that proves rational discussion to be a sham. I mean the downsides of too much immigration are obvious but some people are just afraid to confront it at all.

And it's not like there's any denying it at this point... Just look at how the US was 30-40 years ago and compare it to now. It's definitely worse. We're not in a better state.

One can reason all day about God not existing, but if it FEELS better to believe, it's not going to stop someone from believing. It's because Christians specifically follow a set of rules saying "DONT BE AN ASSHOLE" which they ignore because they think their bad behavior will be magically forgiven. So they're more incentivized to be assholes because of forgiveness than someone who thinks they're actually accountible for their behavior.

That's the difference. It's not just that people are assholes in general, the Christians say they're not and then turn around be ones on purpose anyways. That's what makes them extra special assholes. Having a belief in something simply when it's convenient and comforting for them.

Well, let me put it this way. Let's say you have a God that divinely communicates with someone to spread a message or way of thinking. This person follows along and creates a book. Now if the world is adamant about the validity of this book it propagates and you have a religion. In essence God could not exist without us believing in him. Otherwise he would not be real to us.
