We could easily make energy a free public resource, or sell electricity to all of Africa for country-level pocket change; virtually all the cost for it would be the upkeep for the machines and the wages for the people who work on them. We have various chemical process we know how to do but don't use because they require so much energy, but if we get fusion we could start making gasoline using carbon in the fucking air, instead of digging it out of the ground.
