It would spread fallout. You would need a lot more than one bomb and it would still barely work. The energy of the bomb would be too instantaneous to make a difference.

You would think, and I'm no rocket enthusiast in the slightest, but the style of the engine exhaust and the aesthetics of the propellant being burned all closely resemble old USSR tech.

The eye is a massive low pressure system. While a nuke seems fitting. The blast would not be large enough to disable without doing reckless damage to the earth.
