Hypothetically is there anyway the government could scientifically stop hurricanes before they landed on land?
Like could the government have stopped Harvey or Erma if they denoated several nuclear bombs right in the eye of the Hurricane thus fucking up the wind flow and dissipating the clouds n shit? Could that work? What would happen if you nuked the center of a hurricane several times, say like a dozen? Would it stop it?
But what would happen if you did set of dozens of nukes in the eye of a hurricane, surely it would have some impact?
Owen Wood
We'll never know, because all the money will be spent on gibs insurance
Jose Powell
>But what would happen if you did set of dozens of nukes in the eye of a hurricane, surely it would have some impact?
it wouldn't do shit.
A hurricane is caused by temperature inversions.... thermal masses of air changing places. (Warm surface air rises, cold upper atmosphere air descends, causing a vortex.)
Nukes wouldn't change the fact that the temperature imbalance would still exist... after you set off the nukes inside the hurricane, it would continue as if you had done nothing....
Except now it's radioactive.
Aaron Turner
Maybe if you alter the physical processes occurring inside a hurricane.
You'd have to raise/lower the temperature. Perhaps some type of cloudseeding process could be deployed.
There's many reasons you wouldn't want to use nukes, such as radiation.
Brandon Hill
>can we bomb it? typical americlap
Samuel Ramirez
But wouldn't the explosion itself push forth winds and air that would cause friction against the air of the hurricane thyus drastically slowing it down, also wouldn't the debris and smoke slow the hurricane down to just some smokey tornado?
William Sanchez
What if the government just got cern to set off one of those anti matter chamber things inside of it? Would that take care of it? Or how about dumping tons of garbage from planes into it slowing down the winds and solving where to put our garbage?
Ryder Perry
Not at all.
Let me put it to you this way...
You ever seen a water vortex? one of those little swirly dealies that happens when water is draining out of something? (pic related)
If you put a firecracker, or even a hand grenade inside a water vortex, and then set it off...
It might disrupt the vortex for a few seconds, but the water still wants to drain out of the hole in the bottom of the container... so it would just reform almost immediately.
Kevin Gray
it would take too many resources to be worth it
Jeremiah Gutierrez
Why would they want to stop them? They created them after all. Weather has been weaponized bucko, get with the times. HAARP is very much alive and well.
Evan Young
if they can be created/fueled/steered, then they can be starved
In the 1960's-70's the U.S. had a program to deflect or steer hurricanes away from the U.S. Impossible to tell if they were making progress or not so they cancelled it.
David Cox
Why does only the Atlantic Ocean get hurricanes, why doesn't The Middle East, Africa, or Vietnam get Hurricanes? Did Hurricanes cause Atlantis to fall?
Jack Johnson
But if you were to dump a massive amount of garbage and cement into that funnel it would stop, so why don't we just dump our trash mixed with sand and cement into hurricanes. That outta stop em'.
Wyatt Brown
Maybe.
But maybe it makes it even stronger?
Plus all that nuclear fallout spreading into the storm would spread across the entire gulf + half of the U.S., it would be contaminating food and water for weeks across the country.
Hudson Thomas
>what is a typhoon and a cyclone
Christian Moore
Americans. Lol.
Luke Morales
why would they stop it, when they are the ones who control the weather?
no it's not haarp or any of that shit, there is no proof whatsoever of any of those systems doing anything, just empty appeals to authority, or they start attacking you personally
they use rapid evaporation to fuel storms, think of how water boils. thats how they can manipulate the weather. the weather patterns in america are not natural, they are created.
Easton Allen
>swirly dealies can you fuck off and die tripfag thx bro
Jonathan Brooks
Why would they want to stop it if they are the one who created it in the first place
Hudson Brooks
Itt a bunch of morons whondont even into meteorology.
Cameron Adams
Theoretically speaking you could somehow counter act it in several ways, if we had the tech we would just calm the storm down by cooling it down or drying it. really depends on what you mean by scientific. as long as you have enough energy it should be fine.
Jacob Fisher
>tfw no earthquakes >tfw no hurricanes >tfw no tsunamis >tfw no floods It's a good to be loved by God
