It is because she is a trope breaking character, butt the author foregoes any subtlety in it. It makes for some comedic scenes, but hardly makes for a heartfelt character. Everything she does or says is about making sure the reader/viewer is aware that she is the polar opposite of all the typical tropes.

Because Saekano is a fantasy with totally unrealistic characters. Eriri and Utaha would never exist in real life, and there's no other way to write a normal character to contrast them other than to make a character like Megumi. And if you pay attention to the story, Megumi has her talents too, they're just not immediately obvious.

The other characters are just there to be caricatures of their respective archetypes, it is the author rehashing every single trope in harems and VNs, trying so very hard to be as meta and self-referential as possible, but with the subtlety of Hulk.

I always find that if cosplayers try to emulate the overal feel of a character, rather than trying to be a 1:1 carbon copy, that it looks a lot better. it isn't so much the twintails, as it is them trying to replicate the hair to a T. If you went with something more natural like pic related, add the fringe and outfit and pray to lord jesus that you have blue eyes, then it would look better than , despite it looking less like the anime character.
