Me too. I went back in 2010 for a month to France & Italy and and wanted to go back for an extended length like a year or something and just bum around for a bit. Now that I finally have the time/money to do so I've decided to just road trip the states. Less chance of being aloha ackbar'd here.

Kinda? Why have Euro companies being doing so bad? No Euro tech companies have done well in the last decade or two. Austerity has essentially given Europe a lost decade.

I honestly think Europe is going to pull ahead of America in the coming decades. Granted, they won't be achieving industrial parity anytime soon, given America's land advantage and all, but I do strongly believe they will be the world leaders in areas such as technology.

I also believe that China is a bigger existential threat to Europe than the US.

As for relations between Europe and America in the coming decades, I believe these are largely undetermined and will be heavily influenced by the upcoming political climate in the US, particularly when it comes to topics such as non-European immigration and the welfare problem.
