If you MAGA your enemies, they win
Judges are explicitly not supposed to wear political symbols because it undermines confidence in the impartiality of the courts.
The judge getting punished was a completely fair result, you're all just meming.
Big if true
Trump is not a canadian politician
say that to my face and not on the internet and see what happens
Are you laughing like big red?
Will Canada have a Trump like candidate in the near future?
Canada's way to cucked. Everyone who isn't a libtard is just going to move to the US.
To be honest, wearing a fucking cap is dumb in a job like that.
Even if Trump isn't a Canadian politician, but simply wearing a MAGA hat gives people clues as to your political leanings, making you appear less impartial. Literally every time there is a case that touches on political issues Trump has talked about, a defendant could kick up shit and demand a new judge or a retrial. Even if said defendant didn't get their way in the end, it causes a fuss when our courts are backlogged already.
If a judge wore a "Pussy hat" instead of a MAGA hat, I would also expect them to be punished despite the "Pussy Hat" only being used in the context of US politics. He's being made an example of. You guys would have no problem with this punishment if he wore something symbolic of the democratic party, but because he wore something related to Trump you're meming about how it means Canada is cucked.
He wore it the day after the election.
If he walked into court wearing a Hillary hat if she won Canada wouldn't give two bags of milk about it.
Yeah leaf I'm just taking the piss with no justification. It's inappropriate for a judge to do this, I absolutely agree.
you Sup Forumstards woulnd't be okay with this if it was a muslim woman wearing a hijab
Imagine being a nog and walking up the the podium and the judge sitting before you is wearing a MAGA cap
As much as it kills me to agree with a fucking leaf, is correct. Judges are not permitted to wear any political symbols when they're acting or presenting themselves as a judge.
That includes sitting on the bench, walking into court, presenting a ruling, giving an interview as a judge, or any kind of official appearance.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHHHHHHAHAHHHAHHAHAHHAHHAHHHHHHAHAHAHHAHHAHHHHAHAHHAHAHAH
You arent wrong, but his reasoning is mostly that he wanted to fuck with apparently every other judge that works with him (bad sign of things to come but its Ontario so I'd expect no less). Best way to fuck with them is to just laugh at them for being fucking retards in the break room or something. Wearing a political symbol on the bench is mad stupid and apparently it got fucking 80 complaints because lawyers are kikes like that. Regardless, the punishment is only a 30 day suspension without pay. Kinda shitty, but for an Ontario discipline committee thats a slap on the wrist
Agreed, you are right. However, Canada was cucked when they elected a degenerate sodomite for PM.
>judges are impartial arbiters of the law
>judges can be given time outs
????
Yup.
>Canadian judge walks into court rocking Hillary 2016 hat and it is AWESOME (VIDEO)
>impartial
>wear political hat
He goofed
This
Stop being offended by every little thing
It's like you expect the judiciary to be linked to the government. Are you fucking retarded?
>Australian flag
Judges in court shouldn't have freedom of speech. On the bench, they're not speaking for themselves, they're representing the law.
The terrible thing in this case is not that he was disciplined, but that he was spared removal from the bench specifically because he was wearing it *ironically* and is not conservative:

>the judge told the inquiry that he was trying to "add a little humour" by making a joke about the unexpected results of the American election.
>"He does not exhibit any of the polarized, misogynistic, racist or homophobic views many of the complainants attribute to Donald Trump," the [Ontario Judicial Council] summary said.

>Zabel will be suspended for 30 days. He has not been assigned cases since January.
>Zabel at his hearing last month that he meant to lighten the mood by wearing the Trump cap when he walked into the court on Nov. 9, 2016 — the day after Trump won the U.S. election.
>Zabel's action prompted 81 complaints.
81 complaints
He's an idiot but what a bunch of faggots.
I actually agree with this because he wore it into the courtroom he was presiding over. Judges are supposed to be completely neutral at all times. Wearing a political symbol into their courtroom brings that neutrality into question. Same as if a judge wore a star of david necklace in.
Correct outcome.
>inb4 canada judge starts wearing hijab
This user has it right >The terrible thing in this case is not that he was disciplined, but that he was spared removal from the bench specifically because he was wearing it *ironically* and is not conservative
This. Day of the rake when?
>Canada wouldn't give two bags of milk about it.
I honestly don't want a judge promoting politics from the bench, let alone foreign politics.
But I'm an adult so...
>I honestly don't want a judge promoting politics from the bench, let alone foreign politics.
I feel the same way, nevertheless my state's supreme court looked to other nations' laws in deciding a case a few years back so that faggotry would become acceptable.
The judiciary is out of control because the legislators refused to do their job for so long.
> a person in power wore a symbolic hat of a candidate in presidency of other country
is this what he gets paid for?
youre not wrong but we all know conservatives and liberals are held to different standards
I wouldn't want a judge with a 'I'm With Her' shirt on while hearing my divorce case
That would be expected of the leafs desu desu
It's a serious problem that the Ontario Judicial Council uses the word "homophobic" at all.
That's not a neutral, descriptive term. That's a derogatory term to belittle and dismiss the common political position or religious belief that homosexuality is immoral and harmful to society.
I thought Canada was a country
This. Court is serious business. No fuckery permitted (apart from the retarded jury that will acquit)
I actually personally know the Judge Bernard IRL. Actually, I see him once a year. He is a very nice man and this whole story is embarrassing.
