To be honest, it's not that much different than the end of other gneder bender mangas. I know he can change gender depending on who he falls in love with, but since he fell in love with his best friend it's effectively the "stay a girl" end, especially because it ends that way.
But wouldn't that cause problems for her in the future? What if she falls in love with a girl during her relationship with a man? How are her partners going to react to that? Are other people going to figure out?
