>We are very excited to welcome Chika Anzai to Anime Expo 2016! Best known as Reina Kousaka in Kyoto Animation’s Sound! Euphonium and Mary in Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, Anzai can also be heard as Asuha Chigusa in upcoming anime series Qualidea Code, which will start airing in July.
>AX 2016 will be her first U.S. convention appearance. Anzai will participate in a Q&A panel as well as autograph sessions. (Schedule TBD.)

I kind of wish seiyuu would come to my country for the events. In recent times the only one who's been here is Pile, and even then she's more of a singer than a VA.
>that press release has no mention of Chaika What are they on?

Don't anime staff members / seiyuus usually leave US conventions overwhelmed by how loved and appreciated they are for their work?
Austin Stewart
So literally just Aniplex USA bringing more VA's to shill for their shows now. Hell this thread feels like blatant shilling period. Granted I don't live in the U.S and don't like attending conventions anymore because I kind of despise extended exposure to the anime community lately but it sucks that they practically run this now and get to hand pick the guests to serve their own interests. Good luck ever meeting anyone interesting at one of these again unless it crosses with their marketing interests.
Also Qualidea Code is going to suck ass. They might as well have just gotten a shitty light novel series to adapt because despite being an original you can tell that's what it's going to be. I mean you have hack LN authors writing the script for it anyway to try to rope in their respective fanbases to supporting one show together. It won't work nearly as well as they think it will.
Luis Nelson
A VA is a VA, so I'm glad at least people can ask her in person about her experiences.
I wonder what I can bring to have her sign. Chaika or Eupho products?
Austin Foster
Probably neither since those aren't Aniplex USA properties.
Landon Wright
>Aniplex USA
But she is not Aniplex's guest. is mistaken. She is a Special VIP Guest from PonyCanyon USA, which has the rights to Sound! Euphonium. Anzai Chika will probably show up wearing the school uniform.
Tyler Hernandez
Huh
I'm actually going to this
Samuel Anderson
>>that press release has no mention of Chaika >What are they on?
Lots of peeps beyond here forgot Chiaka
;_;
Luis Thompson
user, you better show up as CHAIKA so that she will cry upon sight of someone remembering that role.
Noah Davis
I'll just yell out Chaika if I manage to see her panel
I went last year and saw no Chaika cosplay. Maybe I'll paste black paper onto my eyebrows
Carter Howard
I can't wait for some ebin memes during the Q&A.
Wyatt Roberts
She will be at Anime North in Toronto in the next two weeks as well.
Levi Cruz
I'd actually go if I could to get my BD of Chaika signed.
Jaxon Mitchell
Probably be semi-bombarded with /u/ faggotry in the Q&A.
Ian Ward
>convention DROPPED
Ryan Morales
To be honest that anime was garbage.
Jace Sanchez
ask her if they did a recording of Reina kissing Kumiko.
Jace Johnson
because nobody buys shit in your hell hole. just a shit ton of pirates.
Parker Baker
I finally have the chance to fuck Reina in real life.
Isaac Morris
>tfw australian >w-we got the voice of mario
Matthew Ward
Is she in multiple PonyCanyon shows? It made sense when they brought Tomoyo Kurosawa last year since she was in both YuYuYu and Eupho.
Hunter Nguyen
I'm sorry my mistake then
Hudson Long
Shocking Truth!
Landon Ortiz
Reina on the front page!
Kayden Richardson
I don't think so, or at least the only notable role she's done with PonyCanyon USA would be Reina from Eupho.
Parker Reyes
>SUP MUGI
Mason Nelson
>Reina's seiyuu looks like Kumiko
Luke Davis

It's probably a good thing that the other big publishers like Pony Canyon are starting to get into or back into the Western Market again because for most of the decade so far it's pretty much just been Aniplex and Funimation having the market and the message to themselves. It's no wonder the current generation of Western fans feels overwhelmingly geared towards Shonen Jump stuff and whatever Aniplex is pushing at any given time.
