Even during the election Trump was wishy-washy about DACA. Frankly I don't know if it is over or not with him. He may have turned and buckled, but on the other hand he may be doing the best he can. What I know for certain is that Trump cannot send back back all the daca people and the rest of the 40 million illegals, ban Muslims, and build a wall while the Democrats, media, and most importantly republican establishment is against him. He simply does not have that kind of power. Letting people stay doesn't mean amnesty, probably they idea would be to put some conditions on these dreamers such as extra taxes, or regulations (say, not working for a year's span would make you lose the benefit of being able to stay).

If they are any type of person, they will seek citizenship by applying for it and following legal immigration application procedures
If they successfully do all of that, and become legal citizens, they will earn a right to vote
