>It is not an anime adaptation of any game, but a completely original new story supervised by the series creator Kazutaka Kodaka. The anime is intended to be the conclusion of the "Hope's Peak Academy" storyline within the Danganronpa franchise, as the upcoming New Danganronpa V3: Everyone's New Semester of Killing will focus on new environment and new characters. It tells the backstory of the Remnants of Despair and how they were corrupted.

The two arcs will air concurrently with one another starting in July 2016.

DR2 introduces shit that will be used through both volumes (like the Hope Cultivation Plan, and the Future Foundation. Also, the members of Ultimate Despair)

I doubt it. The only reason you'd kill a member of the original cast is for dramatic value, so him and Hina are pretty much safe because who fucking cares about them. I could see them killing off Makoto or Kirigiri though.

To a certain extent I agree with you on the despair thing being a little dumb when you try to make it serious. Thats mostly what I'm talking about when I say the story requires suspension of disbelief if you're gonna take it seriously. Disregarding that it can stand seriously on its own pretty well.

I guess the despair thing works best if you just try to interpret that part of the story non-literally.

The setting only works when you know bare minimum about it. The even happened and world gone down in a flash. Keep it that way.

It didn't felt quite right because it was open space instead of confined space. And almost every murder was done for the greater good. All this shit felt way off.
Also, no Box 15, but very shitty variation instead.
