Aizawa Mai (Mio) almost quit around 2007 (after doing only some pretty minor roles like in Negima and Lucky Star), but ended up continuing because the web radio she took as her last job happened to extend indefinitely thanks to Sugita and Endou Masaaki's popularity. Then Nichijou and Mirai Nikki happened and for a short while she was actually popular.

The pacing, the humor, the artstyle are on the same level, at the same tone. It's probably one of the most coherent piece of anime I've ever seen.
It's not for everyone, but the quality here is astonishingly high for an anime, can't say the same about half the cash-in pandering generic animes Sup Forums praises every day.
