I don't watch much anime. My most recent ventures were Cromartie and Fate/Zero. Historically, I enjoyed many of the shows selected by the people at [as]. The list of those was >Ghost in the Shell: SAC >Death Note >Code Geass (both) >Cowboy Bebop I guess you could say I enjoyed Samurai Champloo, Full Metal Alchemist, and FLCL, though I wasn't as into them.
I kind of want to enjoy anime, and I'm curious to know what titles there that compare to the four I enjoyed most. I like Cromartie High School because I've always wanted to see something like Youtube Poop made into an actual show. As for Fate/Zero, I feel like it's a representation of what anime has to offer, and it's disconcerting. I'm pretty sure anyone who watched it knows exactly what I'm talking about. My question is, is this supposed to be normal or acceptable? Is this considered good? Is there really only a small amount of anime in the world with good writing and provocative themes? Do you feel like you've been drawn in by the meme that is anime, and can't escape the shit reality because you're dependent on it? Do you feel like it's *independently* worthy of your attention?
