How new
What could you possibly think is better?

Concrete
Close but no
This show reminded me how much I want a legitimate solid new series from them. They really haven't put out a big deal since KlK.
Didn't they say there's some TTGL in scope project coming up?
>Best anime of the season
Look it's a really fun series which takes the cool art style of KLK and merges it with the great sense of comedic timing of IC and nice dubs but it's top 2 or 3 of the season at best.
It's okay nothing else, The OP is really fucking good though.
If it was the usual size, people would have been bitching about this being KLK S2. It's not best but it's fun_.
What would you say is better?
Re:Zero is a strong contender for AOTY, and Sakamoto desu ga? is a more consistently funny comedy series than Luluco imho. I'd put Luluco on the same ranking as stuff like Tanaka-kun and Netoge, which is to say I'm happy to watch it every week, but I don't think it's AOTS material.
>Re:Zero is a strong contender for AOTY,
Stopped reading right there
People who unironically think Luluco is AOTS make me sick, but you even make me more sick.
I want to pet some Alpha Omega pubes.
>Giving even the slight shit about "AOTS"
Seriously kill yourselves.
Congratulations on having bad taste and being unable to justify yourself.
>Re:Zero
A few threads have made me contemplate watching this, but I havent' been in a good mood lately and am incredibly emotionally impressionable so I'm putting it off until a better time. Haven't heard much about Sakamoto desu ga, I'll look into it.
I want to rub my dick on his face
I mean, I'm just telling you I don't respect your opinion. Feel free to explain why you think the show is a serious contender if you want.
>I'm putting [Re:Zero] off until a better time.
That'll work out better for you anyway: having to wait for each new episode to come out is such a pain.
>Haven't heard much about Sakamoto desu ga, I'll look into it.
You'll likely either love Sakamoto desu ga or hate it, but you'll only need to watch an episode or two to know for sure.
Its literally just >muh suffering
The characters aren't anything to write home about, the plot isn't anything to write home about, the only reason to watch it is to see the MC get his shit kicked in at every turn.
That's pretty funny actually.
>make shows with cheap lazy animation on par with shit from no-name youtube channels
>throw in some tropes and memes
>slap the name TRIGGER on it
>people will eat this shit up year after year
>The characters aren't anything to write home about,
Subaru is a surprisingly interesting and complex character once you've stopped whining about 'muh meta' and take the series at face value. Emilia is so far little more than a plot device who's overly caring and defenseless, and Rem and Ram are little more than suspicious kuuderes.
>the plot isn't anything to write home about,
It rides on the back of its premise, but it's the best premise we've seen in years. More importantly, it's actually sticking to its premise - I've always wanted to see a more in-depth exploration of the psychological impact of being stuck in a time loop, and Re:Zero is finally providing that.
>the only reason to watch it is to see the MC get his shit kicked in at every turn.
If you're watching Re:Zero with the mindset of a detached sadist, then you're robbing yourself of half the fun. It's a series which works best when you fully immerse yourself in it.
My biggest praise of it has to be the way in which each new episode addresses more complaints people used to have about it with an almost unnerving consistency.
>why doesn't Subaru do x
>mfw Subaru does x the next episode
I think you just need to get to the fire dancing scene I laughed harder at that than anything else this season.
>Subaru is a surprisingly interesting and complex character once you've stopped whining about 'muh meta' and take the series at face value
In what way. I liked the show in the first few episodes and still can't see Subaru as anything other than both completely flat and completely insufferable.
My major complaint is that it's boring.
>first few episodes and still can't see Subaru as anything other than both completely flat and completely insufferable.
He's an extroverted hikikomori nerd - so he's supposed to come across as slightly eccentric and insufferable. That's why he didn't have any friends IRL and that's why he wasn't so annoyed about finding himself trapped in a foreign world at first.
Flat isn't a good way of describing him though. In fact, it's the reverse problem that most people are having with him: he has too much personality for people to 'self-insert' into.
>My major complaint is that it's boring.
If you're too jaded to enjoy anything other than fetish porn then that's a flaw with you, not with the series.
I mostly watch SoL moeshit with literally no plot yet I find the pacing of Re:Zero slow as fuck and I don't think I enjoyed a single minute of the three entire episodes I watched.
You're clearly a fanboy who thinks the show can do no wrong though so you can't see where I'm coming from.
Well even if he's supposed to be fucking annoying that doesn't mean I have to like him. You still haven't described how his character is interesting in any wya either.
>implying MLP doesn't blow it out of the water and out
Still a better anime than Trigger stuff.
How do you ironically watch a show.
You either like something or you don't. "Ironically" watching something is something socially self conscious faggots say when they want to be shielded from criticism.
>Don't worry guys, I'm not actually enjoying My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, I'm simply watching it ironically.
>How do you ironically watch a show.
That's just a fancy word for "So bad it's good" nowadays.
>You're clearly a fanboy who thinks the show can do no wrong though
I've literally pointed out flaws it has myself in these last few posts.
>Well even if he's supposed to be fucking annoying that doesn't mean I have to like him.
Of course. If you don't like him then you'll appreciate the show in an entirely different way.
>You still haven't described how his character is interesting in any wya either.
He's interesting because he falls in love at the drop of a hat, has a veneer of (admittedly eccentric) extroversion, and has the intelligence and cunning required to advance the plot - something most anons would utterly fail to achieve. He's the sort of character who manages to find a balance between being relatable and being more than just a blank slate for self-insert purposes.
>He's interesting because he falls in love at the drop of a hat, has a veneer of (admittedly eccentric) extroversion, and has the intelligence and cunning required to advance the plot
Why is any of this interesting?
>I've literally pointed out flaws it has myself in these last few posts.
I don't think you've mentioned a single flaw. You've tried your hardest to make every single thing about the show seem like a masterpiece.
It's not. The show is boring despite being filled with things that are usually exciting. it's actually impressive.
What do you find interesting in a character?
>I don't think you've mentioned a single flaw
I'll point some out for you then:
>Emilia is so far little more than a plot device who's overly caring and defenseless, and Rem and Ram are little more than suspicious kuuderes.
>It rides on the back of its premise
Whether it is AOTS is up to debate, but this here is a motherfucking fact. ED of the season
People with actual conflicts and interactions. Subaru treats basically everyone exactly the same and there doesn't appear to be any sort of actual friction or disagreement between the characters of the show past some of them wanting to kill others.
You just described some characters and "rides on the back of its premise" isn't a flaw.
Sakamoto is stupid fun. Just the worlds most awesome highschool student being cool, coolar, coolesto
>there doesn't appear to be any sort of actual friction or disagreement between the characters of the show past some of them wanting to kill others
>people wanting to murder other people in cold blood isn't actual friction
k
>You just described some characters
Pretty disparagingly.
>and "rides on the back of its premise" isn't a flaw.
I consider that to be a flaw. Re:Zero wouldn't be anything close to the stellar series that it is without its premise. The characters are mostly given depth by the gravity of their situation and the writing clearly relies on that. That's a totally forgiveable flaw so long as the premise itself is great (which it is), but it's still a flaw.
>Re:Zero wouldn't be anything close to the stellar series that it is
Okay well enjoy your circlejerk threads, you're clearly in love with the series to an absurd degree. If the biggest criticism you have about the show is that "the premise itself is great" then I have nothing else to say to you.
Not even the best short.
I admit the ED is really good, though.
Boy you'd fucking love the latest 2 episodes
>k
Wanting to kill someone is not friction. We don't understand the rationale behind any of these actions so they are, for the most part, nothing more than obstacles to be overcome, not actual intercharacter conflict.
>If the biggest criticism you have about the show is that "the premise itself is great" then
You didn't even read the words I wrote. That's clearly not what I said. At least respond to what was actually posted instead of slapping a label on someone and responding to a strawman you've concocted for that label.
>>Best anime of the season
>I don't understand the rationale behind any of these actions so they are
ftfy - try paying attention next time, because that shit was clearly explained.
Nothing new here.
Yes, they explain a vague succession plotline but we don't understand enough of it to know why characters are acting in the way they do.
>we don't understand enough of it to know why characters are acting in the way they do.
No need to implicate others of sharing your stupidity. Have a bit of humility about your stupidity user.
Unless something has come up in the most recent episodes, which I haven't seen.
Also if you could stop being a smug fuck it would be appreciated.
Give him a break, he's clearly straight off the boat from MAL.
Look how he posts, it's like he's in english class or something.
>Unless something has come up in the most recent episodes, which I haven't seen.
It's basically that. Guess you're not as stupid as I implied.
>if you could stop being a smug fuck it would be appreciated
Sorry about that. Bad habit of mine.
>Mariposting
Should be a bannable offence to be quite honest. Pretty much confirms my opinion of you.
>Mariposting
You're reading too much into that sort of stuff, user. It's just a good smug face.
Avatarfagging is pretty stupid in general.
But that's not Flying Witch.
>re:zero posting

LADY KILLER. Holy shit how does your dick not immediately invert and prepare itself every time he opens his mouth?

Just got up to date with this, loved the KlK tie in, ,but why did Trigger censor their own show
>,but why did Trigger censor their own show
Not sure what you're talking about user, because of that censor we don't actually know what they wanted to say and therefor it could be any show they wanted to mention.
