What is scr? What is 億?

Milked it too late, it went sour.

Screenings and 100,000,000¥

A flop, the troll said.

Destroyed by the panzer.

Where is NGE?

Will Girls und Panzer catch Madoka, or did the airing end already? Last time I checked they were still ranking.

In the trash, where it ______

Good work GuP, glad to contribute to this record

Memegatari couldn't even make it to top 5 regardless of all the marketing, hype and shilling. Shame.

They brought it back in 150+ theaters in Japan including 4DX, so chances are it just might pass Madoka

let's pretend we caer

When does the GuP BD come out anyways?

At around 20, 40, and 53 (100,000,000 yen), but it's not included in that list. Same with Gundam 00 since it wasn't a late night anime.

in like 5 days so SOON

>Girls und Panzer
Is this genuinely good outside of the novelty of watching little girls in tanks?

I still don't get how GuP got so popular. It sold great but this is just retarded, is the movie really that good?

Doesn't japan have thousands of movie screens? why does anime get so few.
Even detective conan only has about 300 to 400 screens.

I don't understand it either but I can't complain because I really liked the TV series. All's good.

Just watch it, faggot.

I watched the GuP series in preparation just because I'm so curious why this movie is such a must-watch for elevens. I don't want to stay ignorant by not watching it as soon as I can.

How did you like it, user?

my statement remains that convincing someone that Garupan is not bad is one of the hardest tasks in the universe.

Miracle of the universe, one of the most successful originals next to Madoka

Just watch it.

I live in Taiwan, and watching the GuP movie when it aired in 4DX was an experience I will never forget, truly a past time for enlightened individuals.

A shame I only attended 4 of the 5 airing dates.

>few
it's late night anime. And even blockbusters seldom get more than 400 screens. The last Doraemon movie for example started on 374 screens.

movie.walkerplus.com/ranking/japan/

9th place in the 28th week.

They see them rolling, and rolling, and rolling...

What?

At what point did you "get" it?

Surprisingly well done character animation, I guess since they could let a separate company handle all the action scenes. It's an entertaining show with all the appeal of SOL except in a less niche genre so now I get why it's popular.

The apparent huge success of the movie still eludes me, though. Don't want to let myself get too hyped but I'm looking forward to it.

Isn't the GuP movie successful because it's, well, more GuP? The series in and of itself was hugely popular, so it's only natural people would want to see more of it.

>And even blockbusters seldom get more than 400 screens.

What do they do with all those thousands of screens them? live action doesn't sell that much better than anime either.

>recap movies
Fucking elevens

If your favourite studio is not in this list, it's shit.

What determines how many screenings a movie gets?

If you divide shekels earned by screenings stuff like Madoka, K-On and Free do pretty badly.

>120scr
>6.8億
Yeah, it's a flop.

Soon to surpass Madoka in both the box office and disc sales.

You don't get it user. Most that watched it came out with a better outlook on life. It's not about the quantity. It's about quality, and on quality, many internet experts believe that Monogatari is not as otaku pandering as GuP.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We'll see if it makes the cut first, otherwise we're just biting off more than we can chew.

Atta girls, that's how you get a second season.

what's up with panzerfags?
the show was not even good, to me is on the same level with upotte!.
you guys are pathetic.

I had to drop, it was fucking unbearable to watch. The panzers running at like 3km/h was the worst part.

And I actually like LL but i think it's extremely average.

I think the TV show was pretty good (with the delays and all) but I'm never going to understand its monstrous sales.

You what? If anything the footage seemed sped up at times.

Das mean mane.
Upotte was butchered as fuck.

You don't expect a linear relationship between screenings and box office income. The first few screens are worth a ton since they're in tokyo and other high pop density areas. Fans will also travel quite far just to watch it. On the other hand the screens you add are in less populated areas, with some number of the watchers are people who would've watched anyway.

I think GuP somehow stroke a cord with the kind of rabid and autistic fanbases that like Kantai Collection, Touhou, LoveLive/IdolMaster, Strike Witches, Vocaloid, and soon UmaMusume, etc. I don't really know how to define these franchises but they all seem to boil doing to 'bunch of cute, one dimensional and easy to like girls with a gimmick', GuP gimmick being tanks.

Haifuri seems to be the same but no one likes it judging by the pre-orders.

I think it's just a very charming series easily watchable and enjoyable by pretty much anyone.

Uma-musume! I would watch that but as long as they dont mess it up like they did with Kancolle and Monster Musume. Done right, it should be the next big cute girls doing cute things anime. Haifuri is a flop.

>Haifuri seems to be the same but no one likes it judging by the pre-orders.
Because GuP made it clear by the 4th episode that it was all about girls fucking around in tank tournaments doing crazy shit, while Haifuri is far less centralized and the plot seems to develop at a snail's pace.

It made 80 million this past weekend. In week 27. Opening week was 128 million, 26 weeks ago. Madoka going down. Kyubee will be crushed under the treads of glorious German steel.

Only good for the action parts and if you're a military otaku.
As for the "little girls" part, the characters are forgettable.

Just wait for Haifuri. It's going to pull a Yuki Yuna and outsell everything.

As good as the box office sales for GuP movie are, the disc sales may even be better. It definitely has a chance to beat the Love Live movie for first week and total sales. Currently at 190k+ stalker points counting all the versions and is in the top 3 at every online retailer and shows daily sales rankings.

GuP is mostly well researched and the fanservice is shit for military Otaku, rather than half assed softcore porn or grossly blatant shipping faggotry. The only weak parts are a few dramatic shit relating to the main girls but those are resolved quickly. It's a bit short so many of the background charas don't get much development but a few character moments. Also the show it's pretty self aware and pokes fun at itself when it comes to outrageous plot points.

>pull a yucky tuna
>pull a walmart madoka

wowitsfuckingnothing.jpg

It's definitely a show military nerds would eat up but I thought it was still super accessible. I don't know anything about that kinda stuff but I still loved it. I also thought the characters were plenty likable, despite the short screen time which is a bummer, but like I don't think it could be any better given its length.

Haha gatari sales spammer on damage control.
>inb4 gupniks

Haifuri just needs actual ship battles to rise in rank. It reached its highest rank on episode 5, the last there was any actual ship combat.

What kind of numbers constitute a success? I still want my third Nanoha movie.

The franchise is dead user move on.

>I still want my third Nanoha movie.
Don't worry, it'll come out in 2014 like they said. Just wait.

...

Translate it, weebs.

X axis is pleasure
Y axis is being cummed inside

Red: GuP
Blue: Love Live
Green: Madoka
Purple:K-on

Vertical: hundred million yen
Horizontal: weeks aired

red GuP
blue love live
green madoka
purple k-on

The sales will be depressed first week. Amazon is understocked. Bandai did it again. Luckily they will keep pressing more discs unlike the series.

What's up with the late boost that GuP got? All the other films even out well enough after the first 1/4 or 1/3 of the graph, but the GuP movie had this huge boost in the middle of the graph.

There is zero signs that Amazon is understocked. They are still promising May 27 ship date for Amazon exclusive LE and the normal LE.

4DX screenings.

What about Euphonium?

...

The red is blood loss, purple is the line of succession, green is profits, and blue is a guy playing leapfrog.

Good, now Mizushima has some great experience under his belt for the Shirobako movie. When can we expect it?

Is his agenda still full?

>and blue is a guy playing leapfrog

It's a shame King of Prism isn't there just because it's not a late night anime. Probably it's no different between the target audiences of Free! and KoP. Apparently, by the way, KoP has earned over 6.0億. Free! in sight.

The craziest part is is they weren't expecting this kind of reception for this movie.

Aniplex shilling is slowly but surely losing it's once overwhelming effect as the decade wears on but the whole industry is suffering too. In any case you can only make so many bad anime that rely almost entirely on overwrought marketing schemes and benefits for big spenders before your reputation starts to suffer in spite of it. We'll never get entirely past this phase but the otaku aren't making it quite as ridiculously easy for them at the expense of all other producers as they used to and other stuff like Osomatsu is starting to gain traction and make splashes in spite of not having their marketing machine to back it.

Didn't Love Live already surpass Madoka's lifetime BD sales in like it's first week? Also kind of funny is that Madoka didn't even sell as well as the final volume of Unicorn the year it came out. Better BD, but less overall by year end. I never expected GuP to get this close to Madoka's Box office either.

He's still going to be chirping the same shit regardless

I won't be surprised at all if it goes out of stock on release day.

GuP is basically the opposite of Haifuri in terms of managing it's tone, but then again almost every Aniplex originals scenario writing takes itself far too goddamn seriously lately. It's probably their biggest shortcoming. The last time I remember them doing an original that actually knew how to be a little tongue and cheek and just let it all hang out was Kill la Kill and that was almost 3 years ago.

Event ticket

>Shit la Shit was almost 3 years ago
My god.
