9 episodes later he's still not out of the fucking mansion

>9 episodes later he's still not out of the fucking mansion
>ONLY NOW he learned that he can use magic when literally any person, especially teenager with a tiny bit of brain would wonder whether they could use magic or not the moment they stepped into the fantasy world

Ladies and gentlemen, your "The most retarded character of the year" award winner

He did assume he could use magic at first in a supreme chuuni moment. He was just too retarded to realize he had to learn how first.

>ONLY NOW he learned that he can use magic when literally any person, especially teenager with a tiny bit of brain would wonder whether they could use magic or not the moment they stepped into the fantasy world

he literally did, literally

>9 episodes later he's still not out of the fucking mansion
he's been (awake) in the world for, like, four days

Apparently he had no problem talking about him dying several times in front of the magiloli. Why didn't she asked him more on the subject? Is it that trivial in their world to casually talk about how oneself died and resurected? Or are all the characters completely retarded?

this anime any good?

Can't he write or paint or some shit like that, about his course so people know that he is literally inmortal?

top 3 this season

I know you are baiting
>literally any person, especially teenager with a tiny bit of brain would wonder whether they could use magic or not the moment they stepped into the fantasy world
He was busy being killed over and over again and also magicians are rare
>Ladies and gentlemen, your "The most retarded character of the year" award winner
No, you are the winner

>Apparently he had no problem talking about him dying several times in front of the magiloli. Why didn't she asked him more on the subject? Is it that trivial in their world to casually talk about how oneself died and resurected? Or are all the characters completely retarded?
She doesn't do metagaming

He didn't get specific but he shit would have been fucked up if he had to explain. Thankfully Beako did not give a shit about what he was saying unless directly asked something.

well, it's pretty good, you should give it a try

Isn't the first thing he tries to do is shoot magic out of his hands? Obviously it doesn't work but it would make sense for him to ask for magical training from Rosewall or something.

>fantasy world
>magicians are rare
Maybe, but the point is he didn't ask at all.
And he wasn't getting killed the second he got respawned, he had tons of time.

first episodes are okay, it's garbage now. I really don't see it getting better. 4/10

You do know he has been in that world for less than a week right?

isn't asking magical training from the one that keeps a close eye on him seeming a bit suspicious?

Yeah, I'd go so far as to say it's really good. Be prepared for a sense of fatigue though if you plan to just binge right through. It takes its time and wants the audience to understand the main character's frustration with being set back each time a new loop starts.

why are you in this tread them?

Reminder that Beatrice was aware of his curse and choose not to do anything about it the first time.

No? He's offered anything he wants, and magical training seems reasonable.

if this is garbage then how is hundred and asterisk wars?

>it would make sense for him to ask for magical training from Rosewall or something.
>Maybe, but the point is he didn't ask at all.
But he did. I don't remember if the anime cut that part out, but Rosecchi told him he had no talent for magic since his element was shadow

user i'm not him, but this isn't a hugbox, not everyone has to like the shit they're in to discuss.

>Ladies and gentlemen, your "The most realistic not a gary stu character of the year" award winner

It did.

Being shadow is not really the problem, the problem was that even with that element he's still fairly weak mana wise, so it wouldn't do much good.

Sure.

Rosewall would still kill him in two days anyway

edgyshit

There's a line between being Kirito and Erza with sunglasses, bling, and surrounded by dancing Snoop Doggs and so retarded it makes main characters voiced by Richard Horvitz look smart.

Subaru has crossed to the latter.

...

Probably cause rose bby told her that he was gonna try and have him killed

I really wished that the voice cast of this anime have a bit more interesting people, the radio is boring as fuck.

Nah, she simply didn't care enough for him the first time, Rosewall did not intend to do anything harsh to him, and was merely keeping an eye on him, Rem was the one who wanted to do something drastic because of the witch's smell.

it's not that edgy, it's even intentionally silly most of the time

some people browsing Sup Forums right now think re:zero is an ok anime.
degenerates

Oh wow, some people don't agree with my tastes in a anonymous image board, who would have thought.

>realistic

Nice meme

>keeps getting killed
Gee, I fucking wonder. But, there is really so much more he could do or try to do if he stopped locking himself into a servant job.

Like the way he did and got killed anyway

I think the idea is that by showing himself as humble by taking the job of servant, he gets more approval and trust from the others, and gets to interact with the maids more and get to know then better.

Not for him.
First day was 3 or so for him, mansion are 5 or 6 days each and he is in what the 4th instace.
So for him it is actually closer to a month.

But not for the people that knows him to trust enough to teach him magic.

And the only time he actually had the chance to ask and practice was between the second and thierd death in the mansion

>9 episodes later

We're only at episode 8.

I'm surprised I actually kind of like it. Its pretty cringy at times thought.

The only thing he did was try to run away. He's asking as few questions every respawn, he's not doing shit yet.

...

>Some people browsing Sup Forums right now like the most highly-rated anime of the season

>There are people who actually believe this

I don't understand. The series going full drama in the mansion arc has been 10/10 so far. Are you really that much of a closed minded action animu fag that you can't see how great the past few episodes have been?

This, it's great.

yes, I like kabaneri

That's why I'm saying yet. He still thinks he can do everything perfect in his current run, instead of thinking calmly. He doesn't have a real plan when he could do everything just by going with them to the village as a guest, or on his own.

A better question is why he didn't try writing about it, and happening to leave a letter for someone. I'll tell you why, our protagonist is dumb.

The production values are good and the pacing is decent. Its a great adaptation, it honestly feels undeserved based just on the manga so far.

incoming LNfags defends this anime eventough it is not LN

That I've enjoyed. I fucking love detective novels. What I'm more disappointed in is that he hasn't abused resets to gain mastery/knowledge of one person or thing. Like he should have everyone's movements for the first 4 days perfectly memorized. He could learn how to pick locks and read journals or look through Emilia's underwear. He could get Beatrice or Puck teach him one simple spell each reset, and by like the 4th time he could hold his own. He is still far from grasping the capabilities of reviving.

The biggest disappointment is that he hasn't even considered why his save point has moved. If I had to guess it has to do with him fulfilling his desire to protect Emilia or that he's accomplished something the Witch of Envy wanted. Following the former, he can trust that he'll revive so long as he wills it.

this anime makes me cringe

Wait until they get in an infinite boat reccurency of time

Why should we defend it? If it's popular, you will hate it anyway.

Every time he respaws, the witch's smell grows stronger, so it's not a good idea to abuse it.

well the crictic is about anime not LN so sit back.popular?doubt it

Except it's the latter. When Rem got blurted out of existence, Satella moved the savepoint immediately after her death.

So even though Subaru promptly killed himself afterward, he just wound up right back a few seconds ago.

>2 episodes spent on boring SOL to "develop" characters
>1 episode is fine
>nope, back to being boring SOL again
>10/10
I get it, Subaru is struggling and I should feel bad for him, and the other characters are pretty shady, but you don't need to spend 3 whole episodes on the same shit to explain it, they could have easily cut some filler. It's so fucking slow.
But I guess you could call it 10/10 if you like all the characters.

>Abusing time loops without knowing what consequences it has
I don't think so.

people say SAO is AOTS at first

You know him doing something differently results in the others also behaving differently.

>Pasta
Guys we all assume subaru got into this fantasy world with the ability right? but what if he was just a normal guy transfered to another world?
Curses must be placed with the touch of someone else right? Here is where subaru got his curse (power)

Right when he made his promise to save "Satella"? It's kind of funny that this scene is actually shown right before he's brought to the fantasy universe too, in both the anime and the LN. It probably retroactively screwed him over and formed some kind of contract.

He didn't even knew it was a curse until before the fourth death.

No one knew there was a curse.

Also
>Rem is Satella.
>the Witch of envy
>crazy and broken
>loves subaru
>looks like emelia
>jealous of her
>is actually rem shape-shifting to look like her.
> Universe where rem and Subaru got married she didn't do anything bad to them.

Witness it happen

He needs to subconsciously write a letter with no intent of revealing the truth then

he tried using magic the second he got into the world you fucking mongrel

Like anyone ever knows. That's part of what the conflict is in these stories.

Witnessed

Huh, for some reason that makes sense. It can't be that simple though. I imagine Satella must be Emilia from the future, or some crazy magic shit like that.

She has shown to be able to manipulate time with Subaru's curse and all that, so maybe that's a possibility.

What do witches smell like anyway?

I love most things about this show. Especially the OP.

Satella is in the OP.

A single frame.

Don't forget most annoying MC of the year.

Don't forget emelia's shadow is backwards

I imagine that being in her presence is enough to make you shiver, considering how she's fucked up half the world without much effort.

According to her story, she was either a tragic figure who rose to the position of witch without wanting to, or her anger towards the world/her life made her absorb the other witches and become that world's satan.

I'm kinda curious to get more details on her backstory.

Imagine fucking her.

That would be an otherworldly experience.

>9 episodes later he's still not out of the fucking mansion

Dont expect "hero travel the world" plot, he spend four volumes in the mansion

Jesus christ, we all know that Subaru is going to wind up unsealing Satella at some point.

I literally can't think of a positive upbeat ending to this LN. The best we're going to get is a bittersweet one.

So Satella fell for him because he is the only guy who genuinely wanted to save her?

I'm really digging the theory that she is just a versio of Emilia that had Return by Death and got obsessed over a version Subaru after speding centuries worth of respawns interacting with him, never being able to fully have her feelings reciprocated. Kind of what Subaru is doing now with Emilia.

For we all know, the reason why Satella is getting Subaru to absorb all the bishops is so that he doesn't break when they have sex.

I mean, he almost broke just looking at her and getting close.

...

Is there WN fag who can tell me if there's any people who can attest to Satella's story? As in any descendant from the hero, sage who sealed her off? Because i'm sort of getting an idea of who she might be at least considering what happens according to spoiler anons.

Obvious major spoilers

The witch of envy was said to not have been born with the potential of being a witch, possibly not even adept at magic. Yet, she somehow got her hands in the power of the other witches, most likely the genes the witch cult guys use, which drove her into a frenzy and absorbed the other witches afterwards.

Now, doesn't that sound familiar? Apparently we have 7 witches with the names of the sins in actual time with Subaru's story, and Subaru, has absorbed the ability of the bishop of greed, despite the fact that he can't even use the power properly, and have no aptitude to use proper magic.

Also, Satella and the witch of envy, are apparently not one and the same, and fight for control, with the "witch being the result of the powers being absorbed. If Subaru continues to gather more power, it may end up making him into Satella, or maybe he will transfer all the powers by accident to Emilia. His curse has to do with time travel, so perhaps Emilia becomes the witch and goes to the past to fuck shit up, resulting in the story of the witch.

Who knows really, maybe Subaru himself will become the witch, since his situation is kinda hinting at going the same way as Satella's.

That doesn't matter. He knows about it now, and now he's acting like he has it figured out, seeing as how he's still concerned about gaining trust and working hard instead of focusing on the curse and figuring out his situation.

This is why I hated the whole going back in time shit, He's just going to keep doing the same fucking scenario until he's perfected it.

It's taking so many little steps to finally move on with the story its really silly.

I think the idea is to show how he's struggling each time with trying to make this loop go by perfectly, so yeah it's bound to be slow.

Meant to say he Absorbed the power of the bishop if sloth, not greed.

What's the title of the anime?
Without time travel it literally would have turned into any other generic transported to another world story.

You trying to go against the very entire plot of the story.

Also he can truly perfect anything because any little change he does we'll change the actions of everyone

It's fucking great.
There hasn't been anything interesting for months and you're bitching about nothing.
Please die.

>Re:zero
>Restart from zero

It's like you don't even watch the show

Man imagine how fucked it would be if he actually had to restart from the very start of him being transported to that world?

I mean it would mean he could try to figure out a optimal way to help everyone and himself, but if he died a long time after he showed up it would be pretty fucked too.

Earning trust is because he learned that if he doesn't die because of the curse, he gets killed by the maids anyway. He gets/was despered and losing his shit (KIMOCHI WARUI) at that point then cries himself to sleep. Wakes up and talks/get info with Beako about the curse and right after the epi ends with him asking them if he can go to the village.

tl;dr: he is doing as you suggested, he just lost his shit mid-way

Emilia is a part of Satella or even more so the actual body.
She said she was older than she looks.
She actually looks like fucking Satella.
Satella could not be killed only sealed to some extent.
She was sealed by a dragon, a sage and a hero.
Royal family has contract with dragon, but no one remembers what the contents of the contract are.
Emilia participates in the royal trial to become the next ruler.

Another way might be that Emilia is Satella before she became the witch.
After all time shit is involved.
The envents currently unfolding are what made her obsessed and yandere for Subaru.

He should calm down. He's going to die anyway, especially if he fails at doing the thing he's not sure how to prevent. He's supposed to have worked up the resolve with jumping off the cliff.

>Royal family has contract with dragon, but no one remembers what the contents of the contract are.
Wait what? When was this stated?

When Subaru talks to Ram about the dragon fairy tale, she mentions that they made a pact with the dragon, but only the royal family knew what the pact's deal was for the dragon to accept it, since they all succumbed to the sickness which killed all of the royal family, i imagine nobody knows anymore, or only those with close ties to the royal family do.

Why are you getting so defensive?
And if you really believe there hasn't been anything interesting besides re zero, that means you don't really like anime in general

That's how time loops go. If anything, it's going too fast, although the pacing of the actual story is slow.
