That picture doesn't reflect all of Christianity. It show what happens when you go to a liberal false church that allows female clergy.

>Christ is calling you right now Sup Forums
I can't hear him, I think he needs to speak up a bit.

The absolute STATE of the Episcopal Church. Our whole Church died when we started ordaining women to the priesthood. Every single bishop should be excommunicated.

I'm trying to get into learning more about Christianity as I'm nearly completely ignorant of it. I wanted to read the King James Bible but all that was available was the New American Standard, what are the big differences and is this okay?

>it's not TRUE Christianity!

Lmao, Christ cucks!

I love Jesus Christ, but god is punishing my country because the demons are all engulfing it and continuing to corrupt it. God damn I fear for my life because I live in it and might possibly suffer as the result. Come what may though, and repent if you have'nt already before it's too late. Just get on your knees before you go to bed and repent your sins. You don't have to go to a church for that, especially when the churches themselves are slowly getting corrupted by greed and deceit.

did you try turning him on and off again?

All Roman Catholics

I can't even find him. Do they have an app to find you god if you lose it?

My parents are both Lutheran and I hated it it's just as bad as the Episcopalians. I couldn't take it any more and found an independent fundamental church about 7 years ago. It's nice to have a little fear of damnation in your life instead of everyone just be happy everyone goes to heaven bullshit.

You know how I can spot a larper from miles away? They always use mormon artwork. Why is that.

daily reminder that Sup Forums is a Protestant board and allowing Cuckolics into the US was the biggest mistake we ever made.

King James version is the most beautiful and will remain the eternal gold standard translation of the bible. It is mostly read by Protestants, Catholic churches don't allow it. It was the bible read in the Church of England for most of its history as well.

New American Standard is Catholic.

Differences: KJV is a translation based on the Textus Receptus. The Textus Receptus was a Koine Greek version of the New Testament compiled by a theologian named Erasmus in the 16th century. It uses reliable old Greek sources from the early age of the Christian church and does not rely on the Catholic Latin translation of Jerome from the 4th century. Jerome's Latin translation is the foundation for most Catholic translations of the bible and has some debatable inaccuracies. (So much so that even the Catholic Church has admitted this and fixed many Vulgate errors in the New American Bible.)

The New American Bible is closer to the NRSV or ESV. The reason for that is because Catholic and modern translations of the bible claim to use the "oldest" copies of the NT for the basis of modern translation. This is problematic though, because many of the oldest Koine Greek New Testament fragments were compiled and held by heretical groups. The KJV and Textus Receptus relies on multiple early church Koine sources as well, however, the Textus Receptus gives little authority to the heretical copes of early Christianity.

This is why the KJV is an entirely different bible from any other translation. If you compare the KJV to the NAB, NRSV or ESV... you will see that the NAB, NRSV and ESV have actually TAKEN OUT over 70 lines of scripture. Yes, that's right, they have REMOVED scripture.

So it's my recommendation to start with the KJV and to keep a copy of the ESV by your side. The ESV is easier to read but not as honest. Of all the modern translations though, the ESV is probably the best. Still, always rely on KJV first.

The Latin Vulgate was based off the textus receptus. They did not use the modern manuscripts from Alexandria. Saint Jerome knew about them and said he was disgusted by them

I'm Catholic and read the KJV of the Bible. So does my priest. It's arguably the most accurate translation. I don't know where you read that Catholic churches don't allow the KJV but here in the UK it is very well received by Catholics

>Catholic churches don't allow KJV
Source: your American fat ass.

This.

>Catholic retards fill big cities
>"I'm not sure what to think or who to vote for, let me ask my pedophile priest God-proxy for guidance after I give him my kids to diddle in exchange."

I find Him difficult to masturbate to.

Source work for the Vulgate is not the biggest problem though, it's biggest problem is that Jerome's translation was just sloppy. I'm not trying to denigrate his contribution to the Church, Jerome is deserving of his title as "Saint" and the original Vulgate was important for the Church. However, even the Catholic church has acknowledged its weaknesses and revised it numerous times. Modern scholarly translations from the Vatican fall into the same trap as the protestant scholars of the NRSV, ESV etc. etc. and that is why I tell everyone, Catholics included, to stick with KVJ first.

And this is coming from a seriously Anglo-Catholic traditionalist that really dislikes backwoods Baptists.

That is my experience with the Roman Catholic Church in the USA. I have gone through RCIA and attended all the Catholic religious education because a family member wanted me to convert. (I obviously did not) RCIA called the KJV a false bible, the Rector also said he did not allow it to be read in the Church. Outside of the particular church I have always heard the same thing from clergy/RCIA instructors... NO KJV.

For example our favorite that was removed I'm sure. It's not exactly the same. But St Jerome was well aware of these issues long before the Wescott Hort scandal
1 John 5:7
kjv
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

Here's the Latin Vulgate
quia tres sunt qui testimonium dant in caelo, Pater, Verbum, et Spiritus Sanctus. Et hi tres unum sunt.
Here's the Douey Reims translation
And there are Three who give testimony in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. And these three are one.

Nice stereotypes that really don't actually happen in the vast majority of cases.

There are 1.2 billion Catholics in the world. You really think all of us get touched by our priests?

>Sloppy
Prove it. Have you read the Latin?

>cum to him

Christchan is male? I am terribly confused.

Huh... well I've never heard anyone speak ill of it in the UK

if you're Catholic, you're better off abandoning the papacy, dude. Especially under the current one.

>Prove it. Have you read the Latin?

No, I only know Koine and some Hebrew. I will eventually learn Latin but have not. My point is baked up by the fact that Rome has told her Churches not to use the original Vulgate in the United States. The NAB is the ONLY version of the bible that is supposed to be used in the Roman Church's here. That is law because the original vulgate has inaccuracies. Moreover, the Protestant Reformers all agreed that the Vulgate was not a sufficient translation (which Rome now agrees with as well.) And essentially every biblical philologist of the reformation centuries, Catholic or Protestant, came to that conclusion as well. Basically, everyone is in agreement on this fact.

*backed up

Stereotypes are a powerful memetic.

I know you're not all pedo victims, but any centralized religion, with a spiritual hierarchy of leadership and a ruling class of separate humans, is not to be trusted.

Decentralized faith, decentralized government, decentralized existence. No masters, no priests, no elders, no structure; only God, with man beneath him.

That is a very socialist view of religion you have there. I'd respectfully disagree

In my experience the hate is front Catholics again non Catholics

Just curious, whats the name of this Christian gal meme I see here?

>No masters, no priests, no elders, no structure; only God, with man beneath him.

How do you reconcile the fact that the bible literally calls for Presbyters and Elders? Sure, the Catholics have wrongly interpreted biblical polity, but you can't say that non-denom is decentralized Christianity is the right way if you believe in the supremacy of Scripture.

No, but a lot of them are shitskins.

*that non-denom and decentralized

Well... can't argue with that I guess...

NAB is not that great. But it has it's uses in the Apocrypha. However they are heretics. They translated El-Gibbor as "God hero" Latin vulgate says Deus Fortis, as it should.

>My point is backed up by Rome's new rules
Vatican II is not really a good point here, everyone discounts it.

>Reformers did not like the translation
This is the only reason why you do not like the translation.

This is why
videtis quoniam ex operibus iustificatur homo et non ex fide tantum
Justifcatur - Justified by- x-
It means to be declared on account of sight, by God. The greek says to be declared rigteous, but there is nothing in the word that has to mean that it is of good works. But I'm sure you already have known that for a while.

And the second reason
Petrus vero ad illos paenitentiam inquit agite et baptizetur unusquisque vestrum in nomine Iesu Christi in remissionem peccatorum vestrorum et accipietis donum Sancti Spiritus.

Paeniteniam - Penance not just repent

And the second reason is the same as the first as yo ucan see
But Peter said to them: DO PENANCE: and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Ill clarify these two words have the implication of good deeds. The greek from what I've heard and read, not necessarily and only by context.

Real protestant americans do

>le non-denominational Jesus Loves You thread
Save the crippling internecine wars over which faction is actually a puppet of Satan until later, eh Shlomo?

The implication here is the teachings of the New Testament are infallible. At the risk of sounding like an apostate (which I am), I believe the followers of Christ completely bastardized Christ's teachings, to the point that there's no possible way to extract the truth from the layers of human weakness and our innate desire for structure; we see this in the NT, especially with Paul and Peter. This is of course completely subjective, so I have no way to prove the explicit injection of human cancer into Christianity, but when I study the growth of the Church following Christ's death, it reeks of advantageous co-opting, all the way into the early form of Catholic teachings in the Byzantine empire.

At least we allow priests to marry so we have a lot less pedos.

Episcopal/Anglican church is best church.

Still cucked tough.

I'll take your advice and pick up a KJV, thanks for the info!

You could try leaving his favorite toy & food in front of your door. If he doesn't come home ask in local shelters and put up flyers.

I think the problem is that here in the Catholic Church is totally corrupt. I can't speak to the UK or the EU, but it's just laughable here.

churchmilitant.com/video/episode/half-of-priests-and-bishops-are-gay

Diocese of Kansas reported the 1/2 of the clergy/bishops are closest homosexuals. Moreover, the Catholic Church in the USA has complex plans in place to deal with AIDS/HIV treatment for their Priests. Consider then that most pedophiles are homosexual, you do the math now....

And that sources comes from a Catholic journalist, not a protestant catholic-hater.

>Vatican II is not really a good point here, everyone discounts it.

It's hard to take your post seriously when you say something like this. The only Catholics who don't take Vatican II seriously are Sup Forums Catholics and a few dissenters. Go to the Vatican and ask cardinals and bishops about the validity of Vatican II....

All of the Latin translations you posted doesn't keep me up at night. I don't pay any attention to the Latin, I only care about the old Greek texts that come before. Latin was wonderful due it being necessary to spread Christianity in the age of Rome's supremacy, but as for scholarly work I stick to Koine as it is the oldest and truest language of the NT.

Christianity is the only reason we ever made it to the scientific method. You can thank theologians for popularizing Aristotelian thinking which forced us to actually think inside-a-box and be systematic about knowledge.

Lets get our position right. We don't allow our clergy to marry simply to get rid of Pedos, we do it because scripture says it is right to do.

For a bishop [Presbyter/Priest] must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre...
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

>women

1 timothy 2:12

I'm glad I could help. God bless you in your faithful journey and may you find wisdom in the Holy Scriptures!

No. Christianity is fake news.

Take your garbage back to >I shitpost constantly
>that means I'm the majority

You can't, but allowing you into the new world really opened up the flood gates in the end, you are almost as bad as the jews.

...

On the appointment of clergy: Titus 1:6

"If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly."

That's great but you need to remember that the masters of Koine Greek, native speakers, did not believe in Sola Fide. They said repeatedly that works are needed with faith and that without it faith is dead. Real faith generates good deeds.

Also Clementine Vulgate
Dixit autem Philippus : Si credis ex toto corde, licet. Et respondens ait : Credo Filium Dei esse Jesum Christum.
Another Sola Fide verse
And Philip said: If thou believest with all thy heart, thou mayest. And he answering, said: I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Jews really aren't the problem if you want to blame someone for Multiculturalism blame white women. You don't need to look around to see that.

Ave Christus Rex

Latin Vulgate has almost every if not every single verse that the kjv has. There is only two reasons why Reformers reject it. "Justify" and "penance"

>That's great but you need to remember that the masters of Koine Greek, native speakers, did not believe in Sola Fide. They said repeatedly that works are needed with faith and that without it faith is dead. Real faith generates good deeds.

I agree with this sentiment completely. Hence why I'm Anglo-Catholic. My problems with the Roman Church are due to many other theological problems. However, I do believe that the single most important passage on salvation is:

"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

>confederate flag
>hates christianity
Well that was a bit ironic

Right wing white men always talks about saving the white race and saving white women. They always worship the ground white women walk on. Why? What have white women done to save themselves? Nothing. There are outliers here and there, but they are just that. Outliers. The average white woman not only disagrees with the concept of "saving the white race" but outright supports the destruction of the white race. White heterosexual men to them are either an evil which needs to be destroyed or sissified and controlled to aid them in their Jewish master's quest to destroy white men. So why do you worship white women? Why do you think they're worth saving? Wanting to "save" white women is the same as a herd of sheep protesting the removal of a pack of wolves that has done nothing but feast on them. If western civilization is going to survive, white women need to be destroyed. They aren't just being "fooled by the Jews."
They were always the first to betray the side that seemed to be losing.
They have always wanted liberalization of the West.
They have always supported "equal rights" for nonwhites.
They have always supported mass immigration to the west.
They have always wanted higher taxes.
They have always wanted a bigger, more intrusive central government.
They have always been the enemy of the white man and everything he stands for.

Yes, go Orthodox, Presbyterian or Anglican. But more importantly, make sure to always follow CHRIST and to be a good Christian.

youtube.com/watch?v=5bVEXZ38Vs8&t=25208s

It's not a flawless video (and has some inaccuracies) but its a solid 8 hours of content exposing the false doctrines of the Roman Church.

One cannot be Anglican and Roman. To be Anglican is to put Christ first, to hold the Book of Common Prayer and the Thirty-Nine Articles in high regard, to acknowledge our Apostolic succession through Augustine of Canterbury who comes from the apostolic line of Peter and to always keep open the Via Media of the Ecclesia Anglicana.

XX. Of the Authority of the Church.

The Church hath power to decree Rites or Ceremonies, and authority in Controversies of Faith: and yet it is not lawful for the Church to ordain anything that is contrary to God’s Word written, neither may it so expound one place of Scripture, that it be repugnant to another. Wherefore, although the Church be a witness and a keeper of Holy Writ, yet, as it ought not to decree any thing against the same, so besides the same ought not to enforce any thing to be believed for necessity of Salvation.

To be Roman is to care only for Rome.

>(((Protestant)))

Go away heretic Protesatan, Orthodoxy is the only way.

The Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification is a good summary of the Catholic beliefs (and Lutheran). It's also been adopted by the World Methodist Council and the World Communion of Reformed Churches.

>(Matthew 6:5) “Also, when YOU pray, YOU must not be as the hypocrites; because they like to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the broad ways to be visible to men. Truly I say to YOU, They are having their reward in full.

>(Matthew 6:16) “When YOU are fasting, stop becoming sad-faced like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to YOU, They are having their reward in full.

>(Matthew 6:2) Hence when you go making gifts of mercy, do not blow a trumpet ahead of you, just as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to YOU, They are having their reward in full.

>(Matthew 6:1) “Take good care not to practice YOUR righteousness in front of men in order to be observed by them; otherwise YOU will have no reward with YOUR Father who is in the heavens.

But if native Greeks all of them disagree with you, and ones that were Bishops and Priests and Church Fathers, it means you misunderstand the language and it's context that those words are used in. And it means it's a new doctrine not an old one. One big reason Arianism was rejected was because Arian was literally the first man to ever have suggested that Jesus was not God. Don't get me wrong you are not getting into heaven simply because youare a good person. But it is important to remember that you do good deeds because you are convicted of the truth.

Your church (little 'c') was dead on arrival

Bro, do you even sedevacantism?

All Bibles have in common that they are translated from the original Koine Greek and Hebrew languages with the help of other languages of the ancient world. Not even modern Greek and modern Hebrew is the same. Since those ancient languages are incompatible with all modern-day languages getting a 100% accurate Bible from them is impossible. Only 99%. There are two kinds of translations: Word-for-Word and Paraphrase. Word for word stays as close to the original words as possible but strays from some of the meanings of the sentences originally spoken. The other is paraphrase where it doesn't stick to the literal definition of the original word but strays on purposely to give a general idea. The problem with this is that it can stray to far from the original languages. The perfect Bible tries to find the middle ground between both.

The NWT is mostly word for word with some paraphrase wherever necessary.

ASV is mostly paraphrase

Reference Bible is the same as the NWT except it adds commentary

Kingdom Interlinear is mostly a giant dictionary that parallels original ancient words with modern words. Extremely word-for-word

Byington, aka The Bible in Living English is very in-between. A very good one.

Don't you got a moon god and his daughters to go worship?

Don't get me wrong if you believe in God and it shows through your good deeds, and you endure until the end, you will go to heaven, eventually. Purgatorians can't go to hell, if anyone wants to know. God does forgive you of all of your sins but it is up to you to let God change your heart.

Oh, okay. Yeah, it's been about six months, might as well go for a refresher.
