LOL so true!

makes me think

Create your own business then, jackass. OP wants the government to be his daddy

>create your own business

Can't. Everything requires a permit or a license.

It's called the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe in it.

>watch an American film
>down and out dad just goes and starts a multinational corporation
>as simple as that

Am I being lied to?

government actually makes it incredibly hard to start a business. the cost of the dumb shit insurances you need is too damn high.

All we have to do is seize the Lamborghini factory and print out cars for everyone on earth! Duh! What are rich people even thinking?

SAVAGE
I would still have dumped paint stripper on his tacky car though.

what's up with this dadposting

You sicken me.

>that aberration of a vehicle

I'd just buy a top of the range cooper S and die a happy man.

mixed contrasting colors like these is what killed lambo for me

The skill set needed to run an assembly line isn't the same one that you need to run a business.

Maybe your boss busted his ass to get to the top.

if we were allowed to own slaves we could do just this, just force a bunch of people to make cars for everyone, have surplus cars at cost to manufacture and have time left to fuck our ancillas

*ancilla means slave girl

And?
You know how easy it is to get needed licenses?

No?

Oh thats right your a pathetic looser who see's everyday tiny obsticles and gives up.

>Can't. Everything requires a permit or a license.
Your boss could.
Obviously your boss is more capable then you are.
It's almost as if capitalism rewards competence.
Hmmmm.

Where da white wimminz at doe

You ever gotten a quote before? obviously not.
My small business insurance is like 500 a year for 1mil coverage.

Whoaaaa. thats a big number for sure.... No way I can start any kind of company with those kind of odds against me!

No!I want a Lamborghini NOW!

There's only one self made man in the 1%. Bill Gates is literally the only one.

Except most businesses require more than one person, so you can't have everybody starting their own business. Sure, you could be an independent contractor, but that really just entails getting fucked over even harder than an average worker unless you've got a reputation as being top-tier in your field, or if there's a big shortage of workers with your specialized training, which changes the power dynamics of the situation. The only way a regular worker can get his due is by getting rid of the parasitic rentier class that demands payment despite not performing any labor, and making managers accountable to their workers instead of being tinpot dictators of their own little fiefdoms. Seriously, for all you love talking about freedom, you sure love having unaccountable dictators lording over your life at work and even beyond it.

The typical CEO comes from a wealthy family and got his first, and possible subsequent, management jobs through his connections. Small business owners, meanwhile, probably actually worked for it, but none will admit that a big part of their success(if indeed their business is even running a profit) is simply random chance. It's possible to irreversibly fuck over a startup by being a bad manager, sure, but even a well-managed startup can be fucked over by forces completely out of their control. And of course, regardless of how well any manager does, ultimately none of their success would be possible without their workers. Managers are specialists, not deities.

>the only people making real money are trust-fund kids, people who got lucky and those with special skills that are in high demand
I'll take "what a loser rationalizing their life choices would say" for $100, Alex.

How about you get off your ass and acquire one of those skills that are in high demand and make that money, you fucking pussy.

You do know that the CEO of a company needs to know what he's doing to keep a company profitable. Inheriting a company means nothing if you don't know how to run it.

I'd rather have a decent livable wage doing something I enjoy than make lots of money doing something that I don't enjoy. Beyond a certain point, getting more money doesn't actually improve your life; it might make you happier in the short term but soon you'll just be wanting more, wanting another hit of the more money drug. Besides, what's the point of telling everyone 'get a skill that's in high demand'? It's just a new version of 'get a college degree' and we know what that leads to, it's basic supply and demand.

That's why they go to some expensive college and get a business MBA. Running a company isn't actually that hard, provided you're not a complete retard(*cough*Sears*cough*), and going to an expensive college provides you with all sorts of connections with other rich people.

Fucking this. I don't really like jordan peterson that much but Sup Forums is always jacking him off. He said it's almost impossible to start a business these days for the average young person. Almost all people starting businesses in this era get their start up money through family or sugar daddies.

I'm not kidding, make an account on seekingarrangement. There are loads of girls offering sex in exchange for money and business advice

>t. someone who has never run a business
Try it sometime; after managing a sizable group of people and resources, you will BEG to be able to have a job as simple as being on an assembly line.

His grandparents were millionaires.

>implying you can't hire someone to do that for you

All CEO's do once their businesses become successful is delegate.

>you can't have everybody starting their own business
Some people don't mind being an employee, there's a secure paycheck, and you're guaranteed money, unlike starting a business. Can spend more time with your kids, instead of being woken up at 2am because of problem XYZ

And his parents?

>buy GSXR
>be faster than most sports cars with a price ratio of like 1:1000

>CAPITALISM SUCKS, ONLY RICH PEOPLE MAKE MONEY
>>ok, then get leverage to earn more money
>nah, I didn't want any money anyway
Right. I guess neetbux/minimum wage makes you happy. You sure sound happy.

>+80% make less than $20k/yr
Also, where was the sample for that graph taken from, Detroit?

>a big part of their success(if indeed their business is even running a profit) is simply random chance
How do you have serial entrepreneurs? People who make multiple successful businesses?

The entire point of getting a skill that's in high demand is to make real money while becoming a specialist in what you do.
>protip: even when the market is saturated with supply, the specialists are always in demand

>decent livable wage
Define "Decent livable wage"
Is living with a room mate, and eating out at a restaurant once a week a livable wage?
Does it require you to own a vehicle?

>quoting this
I physically cringed.

>need to be in the same percentile as bill gates to own a successful business and a Lamborghini

You said it yourself,
>serial entrepreneurs
>serial
Volume.

He's not completely wrong, like 80-90% of businesses fail within the first two years. Having said that, luck is not the primary predictor for success.

>he replied, "buy the dip"

>tfw work 5-7 hours a week for free at walmart on top of my 40 hours

I know what OPs image is trying to convey.

>>implying you can't hire someone to do that for you
>All CEO's do once their businesses become successful is delegate.
Why doesn't the guy you hired to run your business for you, go off and compete with you?
He has experience running a business, would have a clear business plan, and even could poach your clients. He'd have no problem securing a bank loan.
It's almost as if that happens fairly frequently

kek

I mean I would compare it to professional poker players. Luck is a factor, but they have a statistical advantage, showing that there is something beyond pure luck

How do they make you do it for free?

Good goy toy

I have been in leadership posistions before. It actually gets easier when you're dealing with more people, since you can delegate tasks into teams and spend your time managing those teams instead of working with every individual.

You're not disagreeing with my point. There's nothing wrong with being a worker; I just want management that's accountable to its workers instead of being dictators whose only job is to siphon wealth to those who do no work but merely own.

I'm thinking about more people than just me. It's because I've got this little thing called empathy; I guess your's has withered away from all your time spent here.

Knowing how to run a business and having enough startup cash to buffer against unexpected happenings. Even then you aren't guaranteed success. Incidentally, having buffer cash is also why you need to be rich to really make money off the stock market. Otherwise it's far too easy for your earnings to be suddenly wiped out.

>Why doesn't the guy you hired to run your business for you, go off and compete with you?
Why would he do this? You can't set up a multi-millionaire business in a couple of years.
Why would he leave his secure job earning millions and try his luck competing with a already established bussiness

>It's almost as if that happens fairly frequently

Wrong

>People who make multiple successful businesses?
Because they are already established in the market. They already have connections. They already have a sizable starting capital.

It's not always because they are "smarter" or "more-hardworking"

ever heard of the pump and dump strategy?

bullshit your way into the coffers of your financiers and then sell the mess to some fool as soon as you notice a couple of red flags coming across your desk, before anyone else has a chance to see them all congealing together, before the impending collapse

>I mean I would compare it to professional poker players.
That trust fund kid, the armenian instagram star, is a "professional poker player".

> showing that there is something beyond pure luck
Money.

This. It's the same as car insurance unless you have a hazardous occupation. Capitalism at work boys.

Paid for 40, the rest is "volunteer time". You can thank the 2008 fuckery for taking away my guaranteed paid overtime.

I just wish I had qualifications to find a better job, but knowing my luck I'll be laid off of hypothetical new job if the economy goes tits up again. The only way out of here, unfortunately, is via a bodybag when my now mild chest pains become too severe as I subsequently hit the cold concrete.

Get in the helicopter you communist faggot

>That trust fund kid, the armenian instagram star, is a "professional poker player".
How much has he made?
What's his net tournament winnings?

> millionaires

cnbc.com/2016/03/07/record-number-of-millionaires-living-in-the-us.html

10.4 million out of 350 million.

You literally have to be in the top 2% of the country. Demographically speaking, that means you need to be better than 15 niggers, 20 spics, 3 gooks/poo in the loos, and 60 trailer trash or antifa liberal arts transgenders. How fucking hard is this Sup Forums? How hard is it not to be a shit tier human?? Pic not related.

>Why would he leave his secure job earning millions and try his luck competing with a already established bussiness
Because he's not making millions
>Wrong
I see stories about it all the time, employees of nail salons, hair salons, restaurants, coffee shops, leaving and making competing businesses.

>I'm thinking about more people than just me.
Advocating defeatism and bitterness against those who have made sacrifices makes you a real humanitarian. Moaning about how other people make money and then outright saying one shouldn't be willing to give anything up in exchange for making real money makes it sound as if you think people should be entitled to it.

I have empathy, I'm just not a subhuman piece of shit like you who thinks the world owes them the good life.

>wish I had qualifications to find a better job

GET THEM!!!! You're using a computer you fucking idiot!!! So much free info and training on the web!!!!! GO FUCKING GET IT YOU SHIT TIER HUMAN!!!! STOP BEING LAZY!!!!!

>implying my 3k civic with a few simple mods wouldn't destroy it

>How much has he made?

pocketfives.com/articles/dan-bilzerian-says-he-won-50-million-playing-poker-last-12-months-589854/

One thing is to be a millionaire in 2017, and the other is to be a millionaire in the 60's or before.

Nowadays you just need to have a macmansion to be a millionaire. Inflation is a thing

>Livable wage
Vague communist bullshit

>I just want management that's accountable to its workers instead of being dictators whose only job is to siphon wealth to those who do no work but merely own.
How are they not accountable?
Interest rates are historically low.
If you have a good business plan, you can get a loan from a bank. And, now more than ever start up companies require the least amount of capital. You don't need to own a factory, and piles of machinery. You can start with a server in your apartment.
cbinsights.com/research-unicorn-companies
Look how many billion dollar companies were started in garages.

Programming for a living isn't for peasants. Anyone can dabble in Python for fun, but being able to survive in the industry requires the ability to absorb a shit-ton of information at a significantly high rate.

>A CEO working for a multimillionaire bussiness is not making millions

>employees of nail salons, hair salons, restaurants, coffee shops
This aren't multimillionaires business.

You have to understand that you can't compare small business with big business. It's 2 completely different things.

>Advocating defeatism and bitterness against those who have made sacrifices makes you a real humanitarian.
top cuck

>One thing is to be a millionaire in 2017, and the other is to be a millionaire in the 60's or before.
Again.
You said his grandparents, not his parents.
The amount of money my grandparents had is irrelevant, because they were all dead before I was born.

This niggers think that making itzy bitsy programs in C means you will get a good wage

While it's true I dropped $1.5k on a gaymun rig, employers more want to see something more and a piece of paper from the University of Wikipedia™, regardless of skillset. I don't have a GED and am an extremely slow learner. What would you suggest I look into that wont be extinct in 5-8 years and demoralize me over age bias and/or discrimination?

It's very hard to define a livable wage, but I'd start with something like "making enough money that you can absorb the financial shock of a single disaster", whether that's your car getting trashed, your house catching on fire, or just your employer folding and leaving you without a job. Not living paycheck-to-paycheck, basically. Now as you no doubt noticed, this doesn't mention how luxurious one's lifestyle is, and it's also dependent on the state of insurance and the social safety net.

I don't know where in the US you live, but look up your nearest DSA chapter if you haven't already. They're a big-tent organization so you'll probably be welcome so long as you don't like capitalism, and they're the biggest socialist organization in the US right now. Plus if their chapter isn't shit, they'll be working with other local organizations.

I'm advocating for people to be compensated fairly for their labor and for the fruits of their labors to not be stolen by those who do no work and merely own. I'm not against management, it's a necessary specialization, I'm against the concept that somebody can own something and receive all the wealth created by that something while doing no labor related to it.

No matter how many well-educated people exist, somebody has to do the shitty jobs. Why people insist on treating the people doing these necessary jobs like shit and paying them shit like it's a moral thing to do is beyond me.

>the amount of money my grandparents have is irrelevant to my economic paradigm

Are you serious? Have you ever heard of inheritance? And you didn't think that Bill Gates grandparents did not invest in his bussiness?

Amerikuks

1 day ill own this boot

>This aren't multimillionaires business.
>You have to understand that you can't compare small business with big business. It's 2 completely different things.
I thought that we were talking about smaller businesses. The original critique was
>You do know that the CEO of a company needs to know what he's doing to keep a company profitable. Inheriting a company means nothing if you don't know how to run it.
The son of the CEO of Procter and Gamble doesn't inherit ownership of it, nor does the son of the CEO of Chevron

>still thinking I'm a wageslave
Whatever makes you feel better about being unemployed.

I make an average of 88k€ a year as a subcontractor. That's what, top 2% in Finland?

Kek, at this point is amusing watching these flustered cappies continue to fumble around and defend their system.

Yes, it is irrelevant.
Because if they're dead before I am born, then presumably what is relevant is the amount of money my parents do have, not the amount of money my grandparents did have

TOP Merchant

if being a boss gets you a lambo just be on your boss idiot

Unless you're making at least 1 million kr a month after taxes you'll never be able to live in a middle class house if you're a millennial.

Soon we'll all be living in Swedish Ikea containers like a bunch of cuck boy faggots.

>implying wealthy parents wish a CEO lifestyle on their child

Some people have no clue

...

If it's a big company, the management is accountable only to its shareholders.

If it's a small company, the management is accountable only to itself.

In either case, all sorts of employee abuse thrives, especially amongst the low-paid and easily replaced.

Also how many of those fucking unicorns are only valued that highly because of masses of capital in search of profit, any profit, are being pumped into the market? It's a fucking bubble.

The way you're formatting it is that the person owns a car and house.
Perhaps the reason the person is living paycheck to paycheck, and can't handle the financial shock of a single disaster, is because they are living beyond their means. They can't afford to own a car or house and they do, and so a single disaster can ruin them.

Proponents of intersectionality think we should all be accountable for things our great-great-great-great-great grandparents did.

lol

>I'm advocating for people to be compensated fairly for their labor and for the fruits of their labors to not be stolen by those who do no work and merely own.
>I'm against the concept that somebody can own something and receive all the wealth created by that something while doing no labor related to it.
So the owner(s) should absorb all the risk and not receive the benefits? I don't think you've thought this through.

>Soon we'll all be living in Swedish Ikea containers like a bunch of cuck boy faggots.

>No matter how many well-educated people exist, somebody has to do the shitty jobs. Why people insist on treating the people doing these necessary jobs like shit and paying them shit like it's a moral thing to do is beyond me.
That is one of the greatest lines I have read on here.

Not capitalism. Not marxism. Third position.

That "education" includes gender studies tier "higher education" though.

sick man, what mods?

This is stupid. Read the fucking article. It says "assets excluding primary residence."

How rich was Carlin?
How famous?
How many girls?

Lol the dude was the embodiment of the cultural Marxist Numerican dream.

>boss arrived at work with a loaf of bread
>i said, wow that's amazing, where did you get food?
>he replied, sorry comrade, is all that is left for rations this week. if you work hard, everyone else can get fed while you starve and we take all your shit.
>but real communism hasn't been tried comrade!

/thread

nice one slavbro.

1 day ill own a house that ill be forced to pay for for the rest of my life.

I'm not down with the whole socialism thing. Not sure how things are in Iceland.

There's saturation even in STEM.

You can't just educate the entire population then expect all the low skill work to be replaced by high skill work. Far fewer people should be going to university.

>having lots of diplomas means you're educated

Great meme

Its probably easy but definitely not cheap
You need a license for literally anything your business wants to do

I just want a house, greater job security, greater unions, and thats it, i wantprosperity not living oppressed.

He, much like 100% of the 1%, was born into wealth and luxury and had a chance in life that cannot be credited to being self-made.
