Mayoiga

the best parable for October Revolution

Bocu no Pico.

>any anime horror
>scary

higurashi

Not your pic.

>anime
>horror
are you 12 or something?
yamishibai but its not anime

>horror
>anime
Play corpse party

you are 12 with your moe shit cancer

>moe shit
Get the fuck out of here

No such thing. I don't understand why.

Maybe Japan's idea of horror is psychological.

you get the fuck out of here moe cancer

literally cancer of the anime

anime used to be good before this shit moe era

I keep putting it off but I will one day...

I'm not sure anime can be that scary.

It can be disgusting, though. I guess that would be Blood-C.

wow, this is some delicious bait. Squid? Prairie Oyster? What's you're secret senpai?

Japan can't do good horror. There are very few mangas and (3d) movies that count as creepy, but that's about it.

>Ghost Hunt
>Dennou Coil

But to be honest, Boku no Pico is horror enough for me.

>moe cancer of the anime
You can go back to fagddit with that newshit

>"spooky" image jump scare
>horror

>Japan can't do good horror
>what is Ring

I remember! Fucking TADAIMA.

Everyone slammed the OVA but it scared the shit out of me.

>wha is Ring
a mediocre horror movie.

I don't really scare of the first book since I was 15 years old and the later books become science fiction.

What moe has to do with their posts you retarded bigot? Fuck off back to shit land tokyo ghoul threads

>Ring
>not that "kyo-kyo-kyo-kyo-kyo" one
I don't know, it was a long time ago.

How does that bait taste fellas?

this desu senpai

Naaah

Mayoiga is entertaining and somewhat suspenseful, but it's not even remotely scary or eerie despite the imaginary monsters

The fact that nobody has been killed on screen and the monsters were all more or less confirmed to be in their heads changed this anime from horror to just supernatural

One episode of GiTS 1st Gig, when Togusa's desktop cursor moves by itself.

Eh, the anime adaption is more just torture porn than anything.

Wall Woman, Next Floor, Video and Tormentor are all genuinely creepy. The kind that if you watch late at night, you might turn on the lights when you go to sleep.

It's a shame season 3 was absolute garbage without any form of redemption. Season 2 at least had wall woman.

Kagewani season 1 reminded me A LOT of Yamishibai. Some of the episodes were really creepy and suspenseful, especially the underwater proposal. Though I enjoyed that it was somewhat storydriven, I feel Season 2 has strayed way too far from the original eerie monster of the week horror, into a more generic action paranormal storydriven anime much in the same way Supernatural did.

Horror is such a lowest common domino genre. This comes from someone that watched Happy Tree Friends at the ripe age of eight. That's who I'm comparing you to, to my eight year old self. Grow up will you.

>the monsters were all more or less confirmed to be in their heads
>changed this anime from horror to just supernatural
I don't see how you came to this conclusion.

Ring isn't good horror and I fucking love Ring.

I've seen the original Ring,i've seen Rasen,i've seen Kazenban i've seen Birthday,i've seen S,i've seen Sadako 3D and I -LITERALLY- do not have a hard on for it because it's "scary". I do because I appreciate the mystery behind the whole thing.

Which unfortunately ain't happening in the S or Sadako 3D movies because they've got these retarded and boring screamfest scenes but goddammit i've gotta take it. and i've tried to actually read Ring because I strongly dislike the films that have nothing to do with Suzukis writings/novels but fuck reading and all that.

>Horror is such a lowest common domino genre
So are SoL, comedy, action, and fantasy, yet here we are watching anime

Shinsekai Yori

False equivalence.

Horror is a genre like everything else. There are good written horror and there's bad written horror.

Just because the latter is more common doesn't mean a well told horror story isn't worth the same recognition as any well told story

>There are good written horror
Wrong. There's no such thing as good written horror.

Because since nobody seems to be dying, and there have been no dangerous confrontations with the monsters, any sense of real danger kind of went away. Now it's just a bunch of nutjobs running from mysteriously caused mass delusions

It doesn't help that their representations of their fears is usually hilarious (giant stuffed penguin, laughing train, giant floating wooden blob)

Shiki is one

>Prairie Oyster
That's no oyster, I've been deceived.

No, all these genres are for the lowest common denominator. Only literary dramas are aimed at the thinking man, and they don't exist in anime. Also they aren't even necessarily better, since "lowest common denominator" has nothing to do with whether something is good or not

I'm just not sure how you can say it's a supernatural show when you just said that there's nothing actually supernatural in the show.

Shiki is more a bad parody than horror. Horror with character designs like that? don't make me laugh.

Wrong

Well the fact that they're all mysteriously having these delusions at the same time, and that some kind of mysterious force is more or less confirmed making them get lost whenever they try to leave the village

>Shiki is more a bad parody than horror. Horror with character designs like that? don't make me laugh.
Shiki is fucking amazingly written and suspenseful as all hell

It does suffer a lot from the fucking atrocious character designs, but that's really the only flaw I'd contribute this anime

>Horror

You surely mean comedy with just desserts

Watch Kagewani episode 6 for some fucking great horror

Horror in anime is hard to really make scary though

I remember back when I was younger watching Ghost Hunt. THe arc with the possesed doll and the final arc with the hands was prettty spoopy for younger me, but it didn't age well now.

Things like Shiki/Higurashi/Mayoiga/Another have a lot because of the suspension, you want to know whats really happening, but it doesn't make it scary unfortunatly.

doesn't help that some of those scenes are animated so weirdly that they become comedy like

We've been over this, it's a great mystery anime but it isn't horror (with the possible exception of the very first chapter).

>Shiki is fucking amazingly written and suspenseful as all hell
Just like Tokyo Ghoul. Right?

>this desu senpai
Why?
Why do you do this?
What is the purpose of you writing this?
Is this supposed to be funny? Is this supposed to be clever?
You do absolutely nothing but litter this board with your garbage and signal to the entire world how much of a stupid teenager you are. Please stop.

Electric Lily from Recollections
or the space witch episode from Space Cruiser Iowa 1999

I, too, find yaoi absolutely terrifying.

chill fampai tbdesu

>any horror
>scary
Ayy lmao.

No, Tokyo ghoul was a fucking trainwreck and I hated it

creepy > scary

>All these the Ring
The Ring is not even scary. Every over exposed ghost is not scary.

>Pic related
The best Japanese horror show. It's yearly show (only on summer) and based on true story. It just like Live Action version of Fuan no Tane.

Unsettling and uneasy > creepy
>tfw no anime equivalent of David Lynch's Rabbits

youtu.be/bJysfQwRL9E

How is it that nips can make some of the most amazing horror games, and yet there is not a single anime that captures anything even close to that level?

Glasslip. Nobody knows what the hell happened after watch it.

Ghost Stories English dub

>Dennou Coil

the fuck you mean?

Wicked City
The list goes on if you graduated high school

>terror =/= horror

Not that one

can we stop with this "japan can't do horror" meme
the original Tatarigoroshi SN is unsettling as fuck

Ghost Stories, but not for the horror.
