Privacy is dead, folks, and the left killed it.

Hey guys I know you're bored so I made an epic new meme for you.
His name is NOTpepe™ and he's a hilarious cartoon macro that you can adapt into all sorts of hilarious spinoffs. This charming character and his vague origin offers infinite scope for zany hijinks, limited only by the imagination of the artist himself!
What? The distinctions between NOTpepe™ and pepe are totally meaningless? They're the exact same shit? Are you a fucking idiot? They're completely different look he's a different colour.
made me laugh but if this gets pushed as a forced meme I'm going to be pissed
NOTpepe is dead, they buried him. Pepe shall live on i remembrance
Yeah, were fucked. It listens in.
This.
Or when my phone connects to my Bluetooth in my truck, google maps starts telling me where I live, how long its going to take to get there, and what the traffic is like.
Is this the start of an epic new meme?
...
talking to my brother on the phone about running a mile outside in negative degree weather...open facebook, ad about a guy running outside in the snow.
That's because facebook listens through your mic. What i'm interested in is how OP's computer managed to hear gorillaz when they both had no interaction. Bluetooth or did he plug in the pod ?
>freely posts on the internet information about himself.
Tomorrow comes today user.
No idea. Must've used the in-built mike on my laptop.
Mark Faceberg never had my yesterday
The problem is the bugs / listening devices and camera most people have. I don't have those, either.
...
Matt furie working hard
I call this the hardwood floor experiment, where you talk about hardwood flooring (or any uncommon internet advertisement item) around devices that have microphones, and time how long it takes until you see a targetted advertisement about whatever it was that you were talking about. 2013 is when i first noticed this happening when i had conversations around devices with microphones. That privacy of yours has been dead for quite some time user.
>when in doubt blame left
Selling your personal info and ads are as capitalism™ as it can get.
Can I donate to your patreon?
it's literally been done a gorillion times already
-new mene
-nice maymay man
-apustaja (aka peep aka helper)
well that's 3
Except the left are the ones pushing for censorship and monitoring of the internet, the right generally favors privacy and communist regimes are the poster boy for the monitoring and censorship of private citizens.
OP isn't talking about censorship though. He's talking about privacy and Youtube™ offering him targeted ads™ after spying on him through his iPod™. Literally nowhere does the government take a part in this.
>nowhere does the government take a part
Explain how the described situation wouldn't happen in a perfect ancap society free from government.
It's crazy how often this is Happening now..
Shit I get advertisements for things I was only thinking about.. maybe I said something inadvertently
What's crazy is why hasn't anyone brought this up?
...
No. But you're nuts if you think spooks aren't spying on you.
The alt right needs to start bashing capitalism.. Marxism/communism isn't he answer of course but capitalism is almost worse than communism(look at Eastern Europe today compared tot he capitalist west)
They do but that's not the topic here you braindead moron. Kill yourself.
ITs not x senpai.. they are using the Mics
Privacy was the topic.
I'm the OP, and I'm also talking about censorship. They're both two symptoms of the exact same issue; private companies all too eager to cave to the demands of far left ideologues to monitor and censor the internet. If everyone respected freedom of expression, right to privacy and anonymity we would have a much smaller problem on our hands. Despite being on the right, I think we should put laws in place to protect privacy that's not communism any more than not letting corporations kill people is.
>>Later, gets a Youtube recommendation of Gorillaz' channel
You know it's even worse than brainlets think it is. They're not using audio to spy on you. They're not secretly controlling your old iPod.
What's actually happening is predictive algorithms based on the sea of data they have on you. They can literally predict you wanting to listen to that one song or re-watch that one video based on everything else going on in your life that you give them for free (facebook, twitter, instagram, google browsing, google mail - all free info you've given) plus the tracker cookies that reconstruct your entire browsing history.
What should scare you is that humans are this predictable to their algorithms. By correlating your search for
>summer 1984
your post
>#tbt
your visiting
>nerdglasseslesbians.com
They successfully predict you'll want a nostalgic icecream you haven't had in 10 years. They then place an ad and you think they're mindreaders.
This is what the people talking about "big data" were worried about. People have the illusion we're not this predictable and that we control every moment, but most of the things you do and think are done with agency could be guessed. Your brain drives most of your behavior under the illusion of free choice. This is why fighting bad habits is really difficult.
Spooks are just collecting everyone's data and making profiles of everyone and using programs to flag people based on certain behavior
>remove government spooks that are spying on you
>privacy issues still remain
>blame left anyway
And 'which' behavior depends on the man with the gold.
It would be a violation of the NAP I'm pretty sure. That probably wouldn't stop them from doing it though, which is the problem with ancaps.
I'm pretty sure you're arguing with yourself about your own confirmation bias. Nowhere have I said "left" or "right". In fact, I care for neither.
are we witnessing the birth of an epic new mame?
Excellent post.
That's a good point, and that almost definitely happens, but I got the ad today, the day I was listenning to it. Not yesterday, or the day before, but today.
>They're not using audio to spy on you
They literally are.
Have you been hiding under a rock this past decade?
If you paranoid fuck really think anyone gives a fuck enough to spy on you then start verbally detail fake terrorist plots to your phone, if you're arrested you'll know for sure.
no
That sounds fun desu.
>I have information that will lead to Hillary Clinton's arre-
>*knock knock*
People have been doing that for a very long time. Stallman recommends dropping terms like bomb in conversations just to fuck with them.
Way to completely dodge his post to assert your great point faggot
>ayy what u want
Well if you change your normal movement behaviors i gurantuee you will be stopped
I can roll with this
You need to block 3d party.
lol
I'm pretty sure both left and right are guilty of privacy abuses, and I'm sure that any political party would invade privacy should it get in power regardless
I didn't dodge shit. That free will is an illusion has been known since the greeks, Spinoza put it perfectly when he said we only think we're free because we don't know the causes of our actions. That ads try to predict what you will want is also not news, they're perfectly open about it.
What I think is the real shady issue is how they collect that data. Things like recording your location even if you explicitly say you don't want to be tracked is over the line for me (not that I carry a phone 99% of the time).
>Use Google translate to get nudes from a girl I'm Brazil
>Ads in Portuguese for a month
Agree
> Listen to rockabye (that single-mother song)
> Ads about cosmetics and diapers galore
I browse firefox with the delete-cookies function when I shut it down, so it was only for a couple of hours
>using apple hardware with build-in spyware
good fucking job pep()pe(r) man
Yes op, we are pegged! Was it the "left" or the corporate interests that own and control both left and right?
...
this is what people who created one good thing do when they realize they've lost the ability to create
My sister saw a first aid book in my bookshelf and asked if she could borrow it.
Later the same day I was on amazon and it was recommending me all kinds of first aid stuff, despite not having browsed anything remotely related for years.
Maybe there's a sinister conspiracy behind it.
Or maybe it was just a funky coincidence.
...
Why are you posting that shit on Sup Forums?
Are you fucking stupid?
Get a fuck out of here you monkey!
It's avant-garde. I like it.
I want to know how my work computer has Youtube Planetside 2 videos as a suggested when I have never logged in or viewed anything, but Rush Limbaugh, Savage, and Levin podcasts on my work pc's youtube.
Read the EULA of fb app for phones. They can listen, record, and use anything they please whether app is open or not.
Life gets much easier when you become tech-literate and learn how cookies work
>no internet connection
Yes goy that's right keep believing it has no connection.
Tinfoil thread.
Outside of devices like the Amazon echo (which you are just dictating shopping demands to anyway) there isn't a system in place for advertisers to listen to audio and recommend you shit. Especially on an iPod not connected to the internet that's retarded.
The feds are another question but there is no proof of such a thing.
