The state generally goes how Denver votes, and Denver is solid blue now. There used to be some conservative strongholds, but they have been filled with dude-weeds and refugees. Interestingly enough they have been placed in the most conservative areas of the state.
Colorado Springs is probably the safest bet, however I don't ever hear of decent jobs opening up at any sort of decent pace. There are several military bases around the city, so there's generally some stand up people.
The mountains have little work, and winter makes getting around annoying up there. The eastern plains also suffers from weather issues with tornadoes and blizzards. There's no real jobs out there unless working in the only 7-11 for 20 miles in a small town is your bag.
There's a high median income and even higher median rent, but mostly there's a lot of high paying executive type work that increases our median wage artificially. You can sling weed for 14 /hr plus tips, or you can do some IT work for about the same. Everything feels like it doesn't pay enough to even afford living alone in a 1 bedroom apt.
