A glass ring found in a Viking grave belonging to a Swedish woman offers proof that Vikings were in direct contact with the ancient Islamic civilizations.

3400 years ago, people from Scandinavia and the middle east might've traded, but both Islam and the Viking culture are much, much younger than that (both sprouted at around 700CE). The article doesn't say how old the ring itself is, but it's more likely than not that it's some loot of a Viking raid from the 700's or a very very old family heirloom.
