this participation trophy meme has to end. I got some when I was under the age of ten, sure, but none of my fellow kids thought much of them. You could still get first or second, and these were highly coveted.

I just don't remember participation trophies being something kids got excited about. The really great trophies were for first and second, or an MVP trophy for being the best player. Our baseball team's parent's kept stats ffs. We had stats on ERA, RBI, batting average, a home run count etc. everyone knew who was the best and who was the kid whose dad made them be there.
