Steins;Gate 0

I decided to try my hand at subbing the Kurisu scene from Steins;Gate 0 if anyone's interested.

You are doing God's work user

I preferred the Worldline change sound effect of the first VN.

Good work m8

How big on spoilers is this scene?

>Also anime when?
Sometime next year.
First we'll get Chaos;Child.

Well, that you know it exists is probably the biggest issue.

It's a great thing you've done, but I don't know if too many people will actually watch considering the English translation is right around the corner. Thanks anyway user.

And I thought I couldn't bare the wait before.

It never fails, every Okabe/Kurisu scene like this always makes me tear up and my throat tighten.
Thanks a lot for this user, if I knew how to I'd send you $5.

...

Thank you user.

Thank you so much.

God's fucking work user.

>having this much free-time
Fuck off.
I'll watch it later after the anime.

See you in two years user.

Good job OP
Now I'm wondering, how does this end? Does this Okabe replace SG wordline Okabe when he sends the video to 2011? Does SG Okabe just disappear in 2030, or what? Pls spoil.

Zero Okabe disappears.
We went over this already a billion times even before Zero was in the works.
The Okabe you see in the original Steins;Gate is the observer.

Ah, okay. I guess that's the best solution.

Everything about that is fucking heartbreaking.

Fuck. I shouldn't have watched it first thing in the morning. Damn it user.

You're doing fate's work user.

But why did she bring him back? Was it just that she wanted to see him again? Or was she trying to confirm something?

She didn't bring him back, only the worldline before the shift could cause a shift. There's only one valid worldline at all times.

The event that sent him over to alpha was probably related to why Amadeus Kurisu was asking Okabe to help her. It's just by coincidence that in the alpha worldline Kurisu built a working phonewave.

Then she spent all that time building it on her own with the conviction that Okabe shouldn't have to suffer for his choice? She built that machine again for the purpose of sending herself to die for Okabe and Mayuri? Jesus Christ.

I can't take this.

Not really to let herself die but more to erase her current self from existence (this happens to anyone who's not an observer though when they send a D-mail). The effect is the same though.

But yeah Okabe was pretty much destroyed by Mayuri's death over and over and over, so she seems to have reasoned that this means he made the wrong decision, and that he would hopefully be better off if she was sacrificed instead of Mayuri.

The whole going out of existence is a pretty vague concept in itself though as it would be un-noticeable for a non-observer, and therefore from a more practical perspective one could reason that it really wouldn't matter. Another interpretation of course is that the non-observers would continue to experience the hypothetical continuation of the worldline.

Herein lies a pretty sad realization about the whole world-line jumping though. Every worldline could be considered distinct where to travel between worldlines you basically wipe an entire universe out of existence in favour of a slightly other one. The characters of the different worldlines are similar, but they are never the same (unless they're observers). But as the going out of existence of their own worldline is impossible to experience, it can be seen as if it's without consequence.

Why did you do this? You are wasting your time, we are getting the game in English this fall.

Bless you OP. I needed some suffering.

Fucking hell, atleast you could spoiler that.

Wow, I went to bed after posting this thread and I refreshed it a few times with 0 replies. Glad to know people liked it.

Which scene are you going to translate next?
Sure, the localization is coming soon anyway, but why not waste some time.

The one where ww3 is breaking out and Okabe needs to become Kyouma again and use the time leap machine to save Mayuri and Suzuha. Right now I'm just doing my favorite scenes.

The quality was kind of shit because I was still getting used to Sony Vegas but I also subbed this one.

>from a more practical perspective one could reason that it really wouldn't matter

I always felt that whether or not an event actually occurred was never the relevant question. Rather, what matters is what you would do or did in that scenario. It's the same reason why claims of "what if this is all a simulation" hold little meaning. The intent of the action can still be evaluated even if the result becomes null.

Though I understand what you mean about it being seen as inconsequential since in order to affect reality it has to be observed.

>still no translations of Chaos;Child
It's ok, we're used to suffering.

But you have chaoschildanime.com/

>anime
Wouldn't bet on it being good.

True the Choas;Head anime was pretty shit.

Wasn't that just because of a shitty studio though?

Well it was made into 13 episodes, no way you can adapt it faithfully in 13 episodes.
I didn't watched it tho, I started to play the VN but I stopped quite quickly, it stopped working and I didn't try to fix it.

What anime?

What was the problem? It's at least worth your time if you're interested in the Chaos;X series at all. I liked it at least.

Although the Okabe from the True Ending in 0 is the only one that ends up looping back to the first game with that message.

I demand an explanation.

Explanation for what? The Okabe in the True End of Zero is the one who sends the video dmail that that the Okabe from the original VN receives.

Yes, but he does not loop back.

All the other Okabes fail, die, or both. Only one succeeds in retrocommunication with himself and entering the Steins;Gate worldline, which we've already seen.

Yes, but he goes into the time machine and vanishes into nothingness, he does not loop back to the beginning.

They didn't mean he literally appears in the past. They meant that the message he's in loops back to the past.

Of course he doesn't, he's "dead" when they finish the time machine and send Suzuha back, so Reading Steiner doesn't activate, meaning original Okabe's memories don't get overwritten.

Great job, OP. Also, the feels always come back with this series.

Thats pretty great, i've always wanted to see this subbed. I hope you plan to do other parts of this in the future

"Why do I have to go through this again?¨
¨Are the sins I committed really wothy of this punishment?¨

Damn. I reminded the complaints of some user about this series. He said he didnt like the fact of a happy ending. That other series have actual consecuences. Well, isn´t this a consecuence as well? After all, Okabe still has all the burden of the previous lines.

I'll probably do at least a couple more before August gets here. I only started doing these because I finished the game in December but couldn't share any of these scenes with my friends who are waiting on the English version.

New watched the anime, nor the VN. Should i check out the VN? I was kinda interested in it, but never picked up.

Meant to say "never".

No idea, but the localization is coming soon, so that's good.
If Kevin's mails are to be trusted, then we're getting it in 2017.
But, while he was telling the truth when he said PQube was doing Zero, he was wrong about the original team doing the TL. So who knows, at this point?

Read the VN

Anime is alright. VN is top tier.

You mean the original S;G, or Zero?
Zero's anime isn't out yet, nor is the localization of its VN, but either way the VNs are better.

Yeah i meant the original VN, i never truly read it, nor watched the anime, all i know is that it has to do with time travel, and possibly loops.

>No idea, but the localization is coming soon, so that's good.

Was there even an announcement?

I can't remember if it had an official announcement but I know retailers have been putting the english version up for August 26th.

Scratch that.

Aww shit im pretty happy about this, wish i could get one those posters though

>Kurisu has two left feet.

Fucking disgusting

That is a lie! I see no PC English release only a Japanese release.

"PQube will release Steins;Gate 0 for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in North America and Europe in 2016, the publisher announced.

The visual novel will appear at London MCM Comic-Con this weekend, with a trailer playing as part of the trailer reel at the Rice Digital booth. If you’re in attendance, whisper “El Psy Kongroo” to the staff and you’ll get a free Steins;Gate 0 poster.

Steins;Gate 0 is a sci-fi visual novel that explores a branch of one of Steins;Gate‘s alternate endings. It sees Rinataro Okabe and the Future Gadget Lab members, along with new characters, star in a story about AI and the creation of something called “Amadeus,” which allows users to interact with the stored memories of another person.

PQube did not announce plans to localize the PlayStation 3 version of Steins;Gate 0.

This is why I like Chiyomaru's writing. It's not actually a free happy ending. There was definitely a cost involved and for everyone who felt S;G's ending was too convenient, here's reality for them.

Can I say: never ever?
It will released, not sure how much far in the future. There's no possibility of a fan patch given the lack of ps3 release.
So just wait.

see in min 06:21 and then open this video
