Unrivaled. Probably the best we have seen in over ten years.

>digital
>shitty CG and filters

truly a masterpiece

...

This.

i mean, this series outdoes it self on a regular basis. how can you compete with this?

Heck yeah.

...

I really like it but visually it's nothing to write home about.

...

...

...

i've never understood this line of thinking. like with girls wearing makeup.
>does this girl look pretty.
>nah mate, see there, she has a face.

I've never actually watched K-on, but the art style is comfy as fuck

>I've never actually watched K-on
You should probably remedy that.

this show was the most calming thing ive ever watched, aside from maybe boss ross instructional videos. made me yearn for nature and hate living in a concrete jungle

this, but I understand these idiots' mindsets. Back in 2007, I was so amazed by Death Note in part because it was so much more flashy compared to other anime I had seen.

Thankfully, not only did I get older since then, I got smarter and better taste.

Shit looks gorgeous, especially the movie.

E

first Ghost in the Shell movie from 1995

I'm a graphic designer and photographer by trade so you can take my word on this one.

I posted Utena two links above you.

...

every scene had an eerie feeling, I loved it

K

hoory shit this is good

I really like The Tatami Galaxy's use of colour and exaggerated animation

since there is no way I find something by picture search: sauce?

Every single Dezaki.

K

Scenes from: Mahou Shoujo MadokaMagica Movie 3: Hangyaku no Monogatari

I get the feeling they sometimes mistook "busy" with good.
this scene was undeniably well put together, though

No, he really should not.

thanks!

Non Non Biyori

Just end your life

I'm a sucker for Shaft anime. Unfortunately most of them aren't that enjoyable from a non-aesthetic standpoint.

Show was okay, but it had amazing art especially the backgrounds.

By that do you mean 'pleasant to look at' or 'visually creative'?

Eureka Seven, easily.

How do the movies compare to original series? I thought about watching it together with friend who doesn't have much time for the whole series

I tried that with TTGL and boy was it a bad idea, half of the show was scrapped

Stand aside.

...

they cut out a lot to make it fit. It's only 13 episodes, and then Rebellion after it. Doesn't take that long

It's fake and gross. A fake face is like a fake person or whatever. The anti-digital mindset is actually really different from this since it's more like anti-photoshop, but it's been discussed plenty so fuck derailing the thread.

...

For me those two usually go hand in hand.

...

when will shinbo make a comeback
he is a true visionary and by far the best director of the last 2 decades, and he just fucked off

Okay, that's stretching it.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Akira yet.

That wasn't Shinbo. That was Ino Curry taking inspiration from Russian animation. And no, Bake wasn't his either, it was Oishi.

Shinbo style is actually very insipid.

Too many close-ups, but images like the entangling hair and helpless rabbit were brilliant.

Chuuni does some things well by the looks of it, but by and large, along with amaburi, it's not quite aesthetic.

O

Post the most A E S T H E T I C anime

Hyouka has a lot of close up shots. The collage is just reflecting that.

I love the backgrounds

pls be bait

>Hyouka has a lot of close up shots
That's what I meant.

>Shinbo style is actually very insipid.
It's miles better than any of his copycats including Oishi though.

Watch Tenamonya Voyagers.

This is Ai city right?

I don't think I've ever seen it get a thread.

Oishi isn't a copycat of Shinbo, if anything he's copying Ikuhara. Shinbo and Oishi/Ikuhara styles are very different.

What is this?

Best

I love how that showdown on top of the hand scene is basically sequential storytelling with little to no movement yet it feels so damn alive. Whenever current Imaishi trides to use sliding/pans trying to achieve some sort of effect and fails spectacularly I just remember this and wonder where it all went wrong with Gainax.

The closeups in Hyouka generally work in the context of its editing though. Putting them isolated on a pretty picture collage robs them of any effect. This tends to apply to most closeups.

Pic related.
Tio fucking good.

youre all faggots

...

this is more aethestically pleasing ANIMES not MANGAS. while the manga is exceptionally brilliant, the aesthetics of the anime adaptation is mediocre.

Flcl wasnt imaishi

Night on the galactic railroad

Can I come too?

...

boogiepop was like trying to see how many visual effects can you use at one time and for how long.

Imaishi was deeply involved in its production to the point where it's a fundamental part of its career and you can trace back his developments back to episode 5.

I just noted the superb use of a "cheap" animation technique in that scene and compared it to lackluster applications in stuff like KlK or Luluco. Imaishi is the connection.

everything became super gothic

T

beautiful
sauce for the love of god, google doesn't bring anything

BTW I also really appreciated Akira
youtube.com/watch?v=qcOiJnWniWg

Akira is cheating.

The animation is top notch, but I always thought the EoE artstyle was "milky". Not very many textures or prominent shadows.

GiTS is sublime. I love how it creates a feeling of a cityscape.
