Not really fair when Vagabond has some of the best art in all of manga period.
Usagi Drop
Most manga/comics in general look better than animation.
Just compare Dragon Ball's manga and anime and you will see what I mean
Manga is shit, you never know wtf is going on.
>manga without spectacular art
>random lines everywhere and huge black boxes
>can't even tell what color a characters clothes/hair are
this is never a problem in anime
Underage and illiterate detected.
Samefagging
Anime takes 22-24 minutes to tell the same story as a 2-3 minute read of 2 chapters.
Who the fuck watches anime anymore?
ITT: what is HxH
The source material for that was awfull m8

kill yourself
I don't know man, I want my fighting scenes animated.
It's pretty obvious that the tradeoff for superior black and white art is animation, color, voice acting and music. Quality direction can also enhance the story by setting it at a very deliberate pace, while the pace of a written story is somewhat dependent on the reader.
There's no reason that anime cannot be (and sometimes is) superior to manga; it's a result of the structure of the industry and the inherent higher cost of producing animated works. But, stating that wouldn't let you start a shit-slinging war between our more gullible members.
I'm sure this will be a productive and high-quality thread. Keep up the good work, OP.
>this is never a problem in anime
>implying that is even a problem
manga leave more room for your imagination
hence much better experience
that why Blame!! anime never work
also art quality is much higher
the only reason i want some fight scene got animated is the sound
season two never
No like, take Bleach for instance, the art is so shit for the fighting scenes that I can't make out what's happening. I can imagine sound.
best two anime of all time, not fair comparisons
>manga leave more room for your imagination
friendly reminder this excuse literally translates to the author was not talented enough or too lazy to convey his story properly.
NGE
>Sailor Moon
>good
I guess, if you can get over Tuxedo Mask being unrecognizable without his mask on, and the fact that throwing a tiara at someone is an attack.
This has to be bait.
The same way characters aren't described 100% in books is the same reason characters aren't shown frame by frame actions in manga. Its not required and helps the reader by improving the flow of the work.
>reader has to do all the work
See
>mfw baiken died and the little girl committed sudoku
never read bleach
never read any shounen with a never end story
it only enhance the experience
stop being a lazy tard and read something good
like pic related
NGE mango never have any budget problems
ep 25-26 and brain hack part in EOE never happen in the manga
every thing got better explanation
Bleach has already ended.
Source material > Later adaptations
Yeah, nah.
By leaving certain details out, stories can be heavily enhanced. If it's done to such a point that there can be no logical construction of the story or themes without severe speculation at every level, you're more or less correct.
If ambiguity, instead, works to enhance certain themes, characters, or story elements, it becomes less a case of making the reader do work, and more a case of involving the reader in an interactive manner; it becomes a fruitful labor that is superior to mere exposition and heavy detailing. This is especially salient in written work.
Imagine, for example, if Lain just came out and told you everything that was implied in the story, or if Gravity's Rainbow just told you all about the 00000 in completely literal terms, or if The Entertainment in Infinite Jest had a chapter of exposition dedicated to exactly what it was instead of letting you generate the idea of what the most addictive possible entertainment could be.
kaiji part 1
>suspension of disbelief
Why yes, I can.
>manga leave more room for your imagination
>the only reason i want some fight scene got animated is the sound
Imagine the sounds you fucking dipshit and stop contradicting yourself. Ultimately kill yourself.
This manga is flat out boring
Leaving some details up to the viewer's imagination improves a shitton, no matter what the medium is. Ex. Dwarf Fortress
>Imagine the sounds you fucking dipshit
i cann't read chinese
and most mango SFX are chinese
CORRECTION
Manga > Anime, very few exceptions.
>being this wrong
youtu.be
What is gintama?
You're flat out retarded
Really though the only good thing about the anime is the music, everything else is literal shit. If anything we can be thankful that the anime exists so that people can read the manga with some sick eurobeat in the background.
Shoujo anime > Shoujo manga
>Lain
Not really the best example unless you want to invalidate your entire point or are a red herring. Can you not use pretentious shows like Lain as your only example.
>watching shoujo
...
No
the CG, faces, and eurobeat are what make it initial D. without those it is far less
>toari no kaibutsukun
>maid-sama
>akagami no shirayukihime
Your loss.
>not watching shows with obnoxious love triangles and male characters
I don't think i lose much here.
Maybe i'm just not girly.
they were both disturbing, so in a way they succeeded
Way to get flamed, but ok.
>wtf
Soul Eater.
Fuck off.
Manga and anime are equally good.
f a g g o t
This manga is fucking garbage.
Totally ruined yoko
Whooooooooooops
o i'm laffin
Oh boy.
How much of that is the art itself and how much of that is the scans? Can you post an example?
A lot of the time scanlation groups use a variety of filters on the image to clean it up, but it inevitable ends up corroding or even outright omitting finer lines. Stuff like screentones are pretty heavily butchered. This probably has something to do with it.
Not always. For example, Aria's manga is good, but only the anime makes it into a masterpiece it is.
Never was a big fan of NHK, but the manga was deplorable. At least the show was bearable, and this is coming from someone who only reads manga too.
Original was the LN.
NHK's LN > NHK's anime >>>>>>>> NHK's manga
Actually good to know. is the ln a lot better. been out of things to read recently so I might give it a shot if it is
I think it is very good. Pretty short, too, and much more to the point.
Thanks user, will give it a look
>Blame! anime will never work
And yet we're still getting one. As worried as I am, I can only hope at this point it'll turn out good, especially this scene. It was so fucking badass that you'd have to be a weapons-grade fuckup to ruin it.
It's a novel, not an LN.
Ah, yes. My bad.
I mostly agree. In recent years the only anime I can think of which was better than its manga adaptation was Ping Pong.
Name three manga adaptations that are better than the anime.
>manga adaptations
Are you talking about manga adaptations of the original anime or novel? For they are invariably trash.
Evangelion (arguably), Umineko and Overlord.
I'd say flcl is better in anime form, but that might just be because of nostalgia
Anime will never get gems like pic related
I can't agree or disagree but I do like manga more. Also, Ping Pong the Animation is godlike so nah.
haha
I agree.
Yes I meant when the anime is the original.
