Redpill me on Ezra Pound

Are (((they))) suppressing the man and his work because of his political views and actions during WWII, or was he vastly overrated during his lifetime? You almost never hear about Pound today. He could have been one of the great ones, but he got redpilled, and that ruined him.

>Ezra
Let me guess... Self hating Jew?

fuck, i work with a guy who looks exactly like that.

You're a racist!
There are no black people on your list!

/lit/ could help you out more.

Browsing through his Wikipedia, he doesn't appear to have been Jewish.

>a cat that walks by himself, tenaciously unhousebroken and very unsafe for children

He was anti-capitalist scum, he had no place in real world so he went to italy

my beef is with his chinese translations. he's a big part of the reason people have dumb ideas about chinese

...

>Angered by the carnage of World War I, Pound lost faith in England and blamed the war on usury and international capitalism.

I am pretty sure thats, Edward Norton

is he a vampire like Nicholas Cage?

No. Lots of Whites have Jew names thanks to that one religion with the stick man and the bread. It used to be big.

Also everyone who knows his shit knows that EP's a huge figure and that the Cantos are brilliant. "Will be read as long as there's literature," sez some dude named Ernest Hemingway

I wanna read Pound's nonfiction more. He thought the ur-sickness of society was usury and that you could tell how much of a hold usury had on a society by how degenerate its art was.

Makes sense. Usury eats the future and social order is all about future-orientation. I.e., sexual restraint is ultimately about the family and preventing miscegenation whereas the sexual libertine will live for today & fail to reproduce or hybridize if (s)he does

Tentative diagnosis of present USA: lotta usury

Vampire Cage

Vampire Burce Willis

I have an unreasonable hatred for all american expats. If you leave our country, you're dead to me.

Vampire Travolta

what about vacations?

No, people just really used to like biblical names instead of trendy bullshit like Brayden or Schuyler or Jaxon.

Well of course vacations are acceptable. I'm talking about taking up permanent residence in a foreign country.

so is it a gradual hate, or an instant hate

thus your hate builds up towards a person the longer they are out of the country, or boom after a certain time period, you hate them?

so whats the line? 6 months? 12 months?

>He thought the ur-sickness of society was usury and that you could tell how much of a hold usury had on a society by how degenerate its art was.

If you apply for residency and sell whatever property you own on US soil, you're dead to me.

He would have been great in Interview With the Vampire.

"Call him drunken Ezra Pound
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
Gather round me people there's a story I would tell
About a brave young Indian you should remember well
From the land of the Pima Indian
A proud and noble band
Who farmed the Phoenix valley in Arizona land
Down the ditches for a thousand years
The water grew Ira's peoples' crops
'Till the white man stole the water rights
And the sparklin' water stopped
Now Ezra's folks were hungry
And their land grew crops of weeds
When war came, Ezra volunteered
And forgot the white man's greed
Call him drunken Ezra Pound
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
There they battled up Iwo Jima's hill,
Two hundred and fifty men
But only twenty-seven lived to walk back down again
And when the fight was over
And when Old Glory raised
Among the men who held it high
Was the Indian, Ezra Pound
Call him drunken Ezra Pound
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
Ezra returned a hero
Celebrated through the land
He was wined and speeched and honored; Everybody shook his hand
But he was just a Pima Indian
No water, no crops, no chance
At home nobody cared what Ezra'd done
And when did the Indians dance
Call him drunken Ezra Pound
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
Then Ezra started drinkin' hard;
Jail was often his home
They'd let him raise the flag and lower it
like you'd throw a dog a bone!
He died drunk one mornin'
Alone in the land he fought to save
Two inches of water in a lonely ditch
Was a grave for Ezra Pound
Call him drunken Ezra Pound
He won't answer anymore
Not the whiskey drinkin' Indian
Nor the Marine that went to war
Yeah, call him drunken Ezra Pound
But his land is just as dry
And his ghost is lyin' thirsty
In the ditch where Ezra died"

what if you dont have any property, and you are living in your parents basement, but then you move to another country, to teach english, would they be dead to you then, but they plan to move back in 5 years or so? what if during that time, I got arrested for touching my students, I mean the person got arrested for touching their students and then they went to jail for 5 years, would you still hate them?

>usury
Contracts?

>what if during that time, I got arrested for touching my students

My grasp of what he wrote and meant
Was only five or six %
The rest was only words and sound –
My reference is to Ezra £

Once, I was sure I coined the phrase "You can't polish a turd." I told people for twenty years, "Yup, that's me." Nobody challenged me, and went home to tell people who they met.
I later learned it was from a movie that nobody I talked to had ever seen, and I had forgotten about.
So I'm going to coin a new phrase:

Splenda keeps you slenda,
but Costco has everyday great prices on Bosco

bump, as this thread is pretty much a place to say shit now. No real subject. Nobody knows or cares about Ira Hay... Ezra Pound.
I'm just here to make an H connection

bump, for white men, even if you don't understand Ezra Pound. Bump now, read later.
He was based and needs more props

In high school my sophomore english teacher was a huge Pound fan. We read The Cantos in class (so spicy) and some of his radio broadcasts and learned about how he was imprisoned. Only thing we glossed over was his views on the Jews (obviously) but we did get the full "usury is the fucking devil" bit.

I'm a huge fan of his now, obviously. Great guy. He forgot more about poetry and translation in his lifetime than I'll ever know.

Be fair: he was translating poetry, primarily. And in that time the understanding of China was limited (their history, and even their present circumstances. It only got worse under communism).

I prefer Ezra Poundable.

ABC of Reading is god-tier. If you don't own a copy, get one!

>my sophomore english(sic) teacher was a huge Pound fan
This. I used to like contract law. Then I realized all the debtors had literal guns to their heads.
I go to town, for Pound. When people ask me for money, I take them to 0% Pound Town, and suck their dick for borrowing from me. I'm broke, but have tons of zero interest cum, in my bum, here in Pound Town.

Anyway, you got no voice. And posting pics in a pottery thread? Preposterous!

I've been to Pound Town, and this is the sound, 'round there:

Still reading the Cantos (it's dense). Read ABC's of reading. EP's an absolute genius. He teaches you poetry as you read him.

Divine mistake level genius. Seriously if you are into poetry, you could spend your entire life tracing the literary/historical references in the Cantos and you'd still never come close to understanding what this man knew. I studied his work a ton in undregrad (actually got my hands on the actual journals he kept while imprisoned in Pisa during the war)...all this was before I was red pilled. I need to revisit his work now that I know he probably wasn't just a loony.

You have the original physical journals? Or just copies/access to them?

What? He was just a drunk injun that got drafted. So he's in that statue. Big deal. There are also some white guys that nobody remembers. Ezra looks drunk, even in bronze

My college library had a huge collection of his notes/personal books that were donated by the Pound estate. Got to flip through some of them when I was writing about him.

Apparently when the Allies captured him in Italy he was literally kept in an animal cage outside, exposed to the elements for a long time. I got to see some of what he scribbled during that time. Poor bastard.

No reason to hit the bottle. But I do know his people are susceptible to alcoholism.

What college? I'm on a personal tour of museums right and could probably add it to my itinerary.

My English teacher told us the story of him in the cage. Poor guy.

I got into Pound from reading Elliot's The Waste Land. The prefaced if with praise for Pound.

He was woke as fuck.

> Elysium, though it were in the halls >of hell,
>What thou lovest well is thy true heritage
>What thou lov’st well shall not be reft >from thee

This is from the Pisan Cantos, he wrote it when the (((allies))) had captured him, and left him in a dog cage for three weeks. They told him he was to be executed every day, and staged several mock executions.

The power in his writing is incredible.

>They told him he was to be executed every day, and staged several mock executions.
PIMP!
He sounds like a fucking fag.
" he was arrested in 1945 by American forces in Italy on charges of treason. He spent months in detention in a U.S. military camp in Pisa, including three weeks in a 6-by-6-foot (1.8 by 1.8 m) outdoor steel cage, which he said triggered a mental breakdown: "when the raft broke and the waters went over me". Deemed unfit to stand trial, he was incarcerated in St. Elizabeths psychiatric hospital in Washington, D.C., for over 12 years.[2]"
Bahahaha, you fucking traitors. I hope we learned a lot about how to break a man.
CIA! CIA! CIA!

Hi CIAnigger! Tick tock you fucking piece of shit.

>all this was before I was red pilled. I need to revisit his work now that I know he probably wasn't just a loony.
Same here. His work was "briefly" covered when I was an undergrad, and he was mostly disregarded as a lunatic. Now I suspect there was nothing at all wrong with the man. Well, maybe there was, but (((someone))) drove him insane. I honestly just think he was incredibly jaded, and rightfully so.

Anyone who lived through the times he did would end up jaded I think. He saw the final destruction of national identity and western pride. He witnessed the end of our civilization, and he knew it.

This. When you actually become attuned to such things (like Jung, Nietzsche, and Dostoevsky were) it naturally will drive you to madness. Or rather, not madness, but you'll be on such a different plane of existence that normies will consider you insane until long after you're dead, and even then only the crazies will consider you anything more than a lunatic.

They used to call such people prophets. Magic is not gone from this world.

>You almost never hear about Pound today.
Maybe if you're an uneducated pleb.

>Elysium
Marvelous. I have to reread the Cantos and much slower. Knowing the circumstances in which he wrote that makes it.

He was tortured for being supportive of fascism.

Honestly, Pound never really wrote fiction. His poetry stuff is eerily distilled, honest worldview. I was surprised when I first started reading his work how obsessed he was with his hatred of usury. There are literally poems where he is just saying "Usura! Usura!" angrily over and over again. He was really mad at the jews.
However, the reason why he was put into a mental institution was because he joined the Fascist Italian government as a propaganda agent during the time that they were the enemy of the United States. This is treason.
Luckily, Pound encountered a sympathetic judge who merely sidelined him to a mental institution rather than having him put to death. He was an intelligent man with a strong love for the furthering of the better aspects of humanity, so of course he is forgotten by the common persons of today. He is remembered in academia. However controversial he may be, there is no doubt of his credentials as a man of words.

>Eustace Mullins

oy vey..

read Eustace Mullins books for ultimate redpilling on the jews, He was the protege of Ezra Pound

nope just jew.

Not really mate, Ezra pound s a literal jew not stick kike

I look just like him. I just showed this to my friend. Wtf this is weird. I'm not jewish though I'm italian and mexican

Already on it (pic related).
He's not Jewish. Pound is descended from Quakers and Puritans.
