Why was Light retarded enough to fall for such obvious bait?

Why was Light retarded enough to fall for such obvious bait?

He was an arrogant kid

He thought L was retarded enough to appear on TV but he was only pretending.

Light was never smart, every other character was made to be dumb in order to make Light and L seem more intelligent. That's the reason that show is so stupid if you watch it when you're older than 15.

Hubris, nigga. Did you even watch this stupid fucking show?

How was it obvious? If it wasn't magic, there would never be any harm in showing your face or name on TV, and Light assumed no one would prepare for magic.

22 here, don't find it stupid besides L getting killed.

Because Light is very prideful, impulsive, and overconfident.

Because he din't knew that L knew that he knew that L din't knew that he knew.

Literally every leap of logic that L makes comes straight out of nowhere.

He hadn't realized who he was up against yet

Because at that moment of the story it was not known what Kira needed to know to kill somebody

L>>>>>>>>>>>>Light

Every single thing Light achieved was because plot armor and dumb luck making resources and trump cards literally fall on his lap

That and L was playing blind, while Light knew every rule.

MERELY PRETENDING

>
Light was a glorified booknerd. Everything he knew was from an in-theory intellectual perspective, not from an applied perspective. He was winging it

because Light did not risk anything by killing him.

So L finds out that Kira needs to know someone's name and face to kill them?

So what?
it's still impossible for them to catch Kira with that information.

The realy question you should be asking is "why would Light be stupid enough to spy on his dad to find out about the investigation?" because it's only after doing that that the investigation knows that Kira is likely a member of the investigation team or a close associate or family member of the investigation team.

If he didn't L would never find him.

Light made the world better. But they had to kill him. Now it's back to shit and everyone is going to murder and steal once again.

I stopped watching this anime after L died.

I just skip to the last episode and read wiki shit to understand of what the fuck is happening.

That information is really fucking useful because it tells you how to AVOID getting killed

Using a pseudonym and wearing a mask = congrat's you're officially Kira-proof. They just needed to know he wasn't able to kill literally anyone whenever he wanted

I wouldn't want a increasingly delusional and unstable teenager with a god complex to be judge, jury and executioner for the whole fucking planet personally

Naomi wasn't. She had Light figured out but only died cause she didn't know about the Death Note.

Because emotions.
Tailor says Kira is evil, that's the moment Lights gets mad.

Bullshit. There are a bunch of retards, like Misa or Matsuda, but the majority is about average.
Naomi was pretty fucking smart for example.

It's just that often L and Light know about things before others do.

>criminals die of heart attacks
>make a list of every criminal that died from a heart attack in the past few weeks/months
>at some point a bunch of Japanese criminals began dying one after another
>afterwards criminals from other countries also die due to heart attacks
I fucking wonder what country Kira is from.

>every criminal that died from a heart attack was on TV and their names and faces were made public
>criminals whose faces or names weren't made criminal weren't affected
I wonder where the fucking connection is.

The thing is just that the characters learn new informations without the viewer and the viewers first gets the characters conclusion and then the informations, sometimes at least.

Kira had access to the police database. He could kill even if they weren't made public, and in fact, he did. If he never killed the fake L on TV they couldn't have known whether he needs the name and face or not.

Actually even L has an exaggerated clairvoyance - deus ex. When a second Kira appears from nowhere (Misa) L manages to magically understand that is a copycat because "according to him" his/her modus operandi and way to act was different... but his whole argument is forced and ridiculous, because L, at that point in story, had little information about why Kira did those things, or how he did.

Kira, as far as L knew, could also be a terrorist who passed himself off for a magical vigilante to hide some other reason, but this theory is not even considered from L.
L always manages to keep up with Light thanks to magically insights, which disappear when randomly Light clearing his memory.

It's a forced story full of deus ex machina for both side. I can just say, that L was more sympathetic with his autism.

Pretty sure that only happened in the live action movie.

Wasn't the broadcast localized to a certain region as well so they narrowed his location down as well?

Actual competent investigators would have found Kira in a fraction of the time even without knowing how he killed just with what they could learn in the first few episodes. It's just that everyone falls square into Light's half-baked ruses even if they're obvious as shit

I never watched the live action movie so no, I'm pretty sure it happened in the TV show as well. He used his father's access.

Yeah, I think it was either Tokyo or the prefecture Tokyo is in.

Lets say Light didn't die.
The police close all there records, and the law is handled in a less public way.
How does Kira pass accurate judgment?

Yes it was. Though if someone has supernatural powers to kill anyone in the world, there's no reason they might not also have supernatural powers to watch local TV from somewhere else.

It was Kanto.

He joined the police forces after L died.

So that's a new dilemma: Either he's omniscient or he has access to classified records. He also follows the exact schedule of a high school kid on his early kills and is japanese. So you're looking for a japanese kid who obviously cares about school and his public image enough to not just flee and dedicate to his magical murderous antics wholesale. He's also probably relative to a police officer, or else a extremely accomplished hacker, and which is more likely?

Oh yeah, they also narrowed it down further to Kanto with the broadcast.

By that point you'd need to be a true mong to not see it coming from a mile away.

Please elaborate.

He uses his father's access to spy in the investigations the police is making.

I recently started rewatching the series and he didn't use it to find out about criminals.

In the live action movies he has doubts and is insecure but after he sees how many criminals aren't being punished for their actions on his father's computer he gains confidence and decides to use the Death Note. That's how I remember it, it wasn't in the series.

He kills innocent people.
The people who hide criminals from him are just as bad.
>t. L

Because he was still too immature and hot headed when he found the death note.

Because he was arrogant. Were you even paying attention?

Kira basically doomed himself in the first couple episodes.

Say he actually thought it through before using the note and started killing criminals from south america or something to experiment, and then proceeded to kill only non-secret criminals from all over the world, and only at equally spaced times throughout the day, like every 4 or 6 hours for a while and waking up in the middle of the night to avoid suspicion. It would have been literally impossible to find him.

Not that his actual actions don't make sense, of course. He's a high school student when he begins, not some criminal mastermind.

See

Don't they put cameras in his room to get evidence?
It didn't work.
L suspected him the whole time that was really obvious.

It doesn't matter if they know Kira is a student who has access to police data if they don't have any prove. Light killed a criminal he couldn't know about, because potato chips.

You don't let the guy who used to be your main, almost 100% suspect for magical mass murder join the fucking police taskforce dedicated to hunting that guy down, and you'd instruct the officer who is his father to NEVER, EVER mention the case in front of his family. Which is probably how it would have been done in real life even if nobody in the family was suspect. You'd also improve the security of the guy's work computer if you were as paranoid as L.

Highschoolers

>and waking up in the middle of the night to avoid suspicion
There's not even need to do that, I'm sure he could have just write 'die from a heart attack at hour X'.

How hard would it have been to catch Light if he relied on the internet instead of TV and picked a larger variety of global targets to kill instead of mostly local?

Did you expect him to know that L knows about his fucking magic?

How the fuck wouldn't they know he killed people like that to make people aware of his existence.

he was literally a summerfag

Light also wanted the name of Kira to be acknowledged as a god. Its not just a matter of quietly killing criminals.

This whole show is contingent on the fact of world police not abducting and killing the narrowed-down suspects.

Probably easier actually.
They would find a way to spy his computer at some point.

The whole point of the show is shit though. Do you believe the names of criminals in the mafia (whatever and wherever the kind of mafia) are actually known? The guys terrorizing cities in Mexico or in favelas have no known identity. Or no public access to it at least.

In modern "internet era" he would be unstoppable I think

He was just easily riled.
What was REALLY stupid was when he purposefully let L know hat he had access to police information. If he hadn't done that, L would have never caught him.

>What was REALLY stupid was when he purposefully let L know hat he had access to police information. If he hadn't done that, L would have never caught him.

do you faggots don't understand that Light was deliberately baiting L so he could draw him in and then kill him?

It wasn't about staying hidden, it was about destroying all opposition.

>do you faggots don't understand that Light was deliberately baiting L so he could draw him in and then kill him?
That's even dumber. Light didn't want L to know who he was, he went to extreme measurs to avoid suspicion. Light sure didn't look happy when L went to see him at the graduation ceremony, that wasn't the face of a man that though "just as keikaku". It wasn't until after the fact that Light decided to try and take advantage of the opportunity to get info on L.
Light's stated objective for letting L know he had police intel was to get the police and L to mistrust each other, but there were other ways to do that. Light gave up a lot of anonymity points, it was extremely stupid and not worth the risk.

He would never be suspected if he used the internet to randomly kill criminals all over the world instead of whatever criminals appear on Japanese tv.

He WAS killing criminals around the world. The entire G8 was freaking out about Kira, remember?

L just had the wealth of knowledge and insight to notice that the first criminals who started dying mysteriously were in the Kanto region of Japan.

Here's how Light could have guaranteed his anonymity
>Have times of death be random accross the day every day
>Don't focus too much on Japanese criminals, kill them only in the same proportion you kill criminals from all over the world
>Focus more on killing high-profile criminals reported in media all over the world or those on the public most wanted list of every nation
>Never do anything that would reveal he has access to Japanese police intel

Also, the fact that the times Light was most active happened to be the times a Japanese student would have free time

Could Kira defeat ISIS?

Can he even write sandnigger names correctly?

He could definetly kill all he foreigners that joined. Not sure if the names and faces of the local insurgents are public knowledge.

So...a regular worker in society don't have the same free time times like a student?
I think workers/wagecucks and students are occupied the same time

Not in Japan, you underestimate how ungodly their working hours are

Because he's an idiot that cared more about stroking his stupid god complex than actually reducing crime. Pretty much every shitty decision he makes in the show can be attributed to him wanting to flourish himself as powerful.

L here

The "real" L was also a fake.

Sup L how's life treating you.
Did all that sweet eating finally catch up to you? I bet you weigh like 300 pounds now.

>i swear to god im smarter than light

You can never write a character smarter than yourself, you can only emulate it by letting them do things you think are smart.

You can't expect him to assume a detective will assume magic powers aided with specific information are involved.

It's one of his key character flaws. He gets emotional.

It was announced as a global broadcast but ended up being such. Light didn't know.

It's pretty obvious L brings Light into the Tasl Force so he can monitor him more closely and put him under more pressure.
The moment Light kills Raye Penber, and because of his dad's connection to the police force he pretty much blows his cover.
From that point it's literally L waiting for Light to slip up, and bringing him into the Task Force was the best way to provoke a fuck up.
What he didn't foresee was Light having the ability to give up his power and transfer it to someone else.
