Is pic related some sort of secret test for good taste?

is pic related some sort of secret test for good taste?
I dont see it to be commented a lot but everytime it is, its usually praise

Gotta admit I didn't really care about that series. Spirit Circle and Sengoku Youko on the other hand I loved.

>is pic related some sort of secret test for good taste?
That would mean that those with good taste would like it and those with bad taste would not like it.
>I dont see it to be commented a lot but everytime it is, its usually praise
That would mean that nobody who tried it dislikes it.

You are not making sense.

it is boring as shit

Better than Sengoku Yoku but less good than Spirit circle

that's typical for many manga

only animefags usually bring up series just to diss it

Can't wait for whatever manga Mizukami will make next

I hope it will be sci-fi

This. Still doesn't mean it's bad tho

This.

kinda makes me want a "Bure > Ringo > Rumba >" pic but with these three manga.

It's a short, sweet story that has a good story despite never getting too heavy. Fun characters, good lighthearted romance, fun fights, good dramatic moments. It also avoids some common tropes pretty well.

Spirit Circle's last tank is released today. Is there an epilogue?

Bure = Sengoku Youkou
Rumba = Spirit Circle
Ringo = Samidare

I see the banner for it all the time so no.

An user dumped it today and the thread died at like 10 posts. 2 page epilogue with Kouko and Koko and an afterword.

I liked it. It was pretty okay.

Nah, I have impeccable taste and I found it to be pretty bad. I just don't usually bother going into threads into series I dislike and telling everyone how much I dislike it.

Fuck! So did they have lots of sex?

Can anyone repost it or link to the thread?

>Nah, I have impeccable taste
that's pretty arrogant

but then again one always finds themselves at the forefront of taste.

MCs backstory was pretty forced and unbelievable. But maybe the author was trying not to be too real with a child abuse storyline
that's my only real complaint

>I hope it will be sci-fi

This. Lafalle's story arc was the best.

...

why are girls named Yayoi always the best?

>This. Lafalle's story arc was the mehest

FTFY

>getting mad about opinions

MC was a shit character to the end only to turn out he was actually pretending to be a shit character.
It follows the usual shonnen power growth while fighting virtually the same enemy over and over again but each time takes less chapters.
Cast is overall uninteresting and their deaths have as much weight as a dead character in SAO.
Bad guy goes from happy old guy who just wants to read something to generic KUKAKEKEKIKAKAKAKA evil.

meme 3x3 core manga
other series are better

Because they also never win.

I just realised both Spirit Circle and Sengoku Youko are now finished serialization. What else is he drawing these days?

I loved both of those, and storywise Spirit Circle is probably the pinnacle of Mizukami's writing, but Samidare remains my favorite. The characters really make it stand above his other works for me.

That pic was always weird to me, since Ringo is obviously nowhere near as good as Bure and Rumba.

hold your fucking tongue

nothing yet

Not saying it's bad, just not as good. Like Shoujo Q isn't as good as Roulette or Yellow Vacation, but is still a fine OP.

I felt Spirit Circle was kind of weak in terms of characters, so I get that.

I might prefer Biscuit Hammer, but I think Spirit Circle is overall better.

I actually just started reading this after seeing it mentioned quite often the past few days.

I'm on chapter 11, but I'm not liking it so much at the moment. Does the MC become less angst-ridden and/or obsessive anytime soon? I liked him at first since he seemed calm and level-headed, but as I read on, I found it hard to take him seriously because of how melodramatic he is. He instantly falls in love with Sami and then starts having some creepy obsessive thing with her. Like everything he does is related back to her, and he's also willing to kill people for her sake but for trivial reasons. His child abuse backstory also didn't seem to be written out very well in my opinion.

I hear a lot of good things about this, so I want to keep on reading in hope it gets better. But so far, it's not nearly as good as I thought it would be.

Like this?

yes

thank you

>Does the MC become less angst-ridden and/or obsessive anytime soon?
>anytime soon?
I don't know?

He does get better, very obviously, over time. This is especially obvious after he meets the Crow Knight. The strength of the manga is all of the knights/characters, and the twisty plot. I liked the action, too, and it has some of my favorite attacks/power ups.

Cool.

I like everyone except the main character pretty much. His personality just seems so forced. I think the author was really trying to push the aftereffects of a traumatic childhood into his personality, but it just feels awkwardly done and unnatural. Pacing also seemed a bit rushed. He's too quick to fall in love and too quick to being crazy obsessive loyal.

You have to just accept his love and loyalty. It's just a weird thing, period.

Appropriate, considering Mizukami Satoshi manga have an objectively correct order as well. It's Hoshi no Samidare > Sengoku Youko > Spirit Circle

I think it's quite plain and cringe worthy. Didn't like it at all.

It's a fun ride

Translating the epilogue now if anyone's interested.

Will you translated the afterword too?

Anime never

Nowhere near enough time for that, sorry.

are you looking up each kanji individually?

Perfect

Someone posted the epilogue on batoto. No afterword though.

Rundown of the afterword:

>The last stretch was tricky for him
>Mizukami went to a hypnotist during BH's run and relived a past life
>He was old man Sphinx and based the series on that experience
>Series was set for 4 volumes but ended up being 6
>His editor bugged him about what exactly Fortuna did until he gave him the answer
>He came up with lots of material for Lafalle's world but didn't get to show much of it
>He went to porn sites on the pretext of furthering his addiction to the spiritual stuff to learn a way to have wet dreams and astral projection.
>He quite likes how the series turned out and appreciates it if anyone else does too
>If you didn't, go draw a story you want told. That's how people go pro apparently.

>>Mizukami went to a hypnotist during BH's run and relived a past life
>>He was old man Sphinx and based the series on that experience
Fucking what

I'm sorry, that Spirit Circle epilogue was fucking pointless.

May as well not exist.

>>He went to porn sites on the pretext of furthering his addiction to the spiritual stuff to learn a way to have wet dreams and astral projection.

>>He came up with lots of material for Lafalle's world but didn't get to show much of it
Had a feeling.

Also, his obsession with this spirit/reincarnation stuff is very obvious, but it's neat seeing confirmation.

He mentioned that he kept snowballing more and more things to draw for the series but decided to cut it where he did lest he gets sucked completely into it.

literally all I wanted to see was an absolutely confirmed Fuuta/Kouko OTP

Instead, it's potentially confirmed, but quite deliberately he went out of the way to mention how it didn't have to be "them", but could be "any one of them",

How pointless

>Mizukami went to a hypnotist during BH's run and relived a past life
>He went to porn sites on the pretext of furthering his addiction to the spiritual stuff to learn a way to have wet dreams and astral projection.
What an amazing mangaka.

...

sengoku youko and spirit circle were better. But this is the entry level one.

It's not good taste to like this user, just sans shit taste.

it's only a secret test to find people over the age of 25.

so stop the mental masterbation OP

>It follows the usual shonnen power growth while fighting virtually the same enemy over and over again but each time takes less chapters.

well we know you never read this

...

Well that sucks. It's really weird and off-putting how creepy and dark he gets. Glad the other characters are interesting though.
