So if a war between the Norks and Burgers starts tomorrow morning, how would it go? Im talking specific military strategies, and would NK be able to put up a fight? How long would it take Burgers to destroy NK? Could NK have strategic surprises up their sleeves? Would China interfere directly?
Note: This is a military discussion thread, Im not asking "how likely is a war" Im asking "if a war starts what would happen"
>North korea shoots nuke towards guam that may or may not be deflected by THAAD >US of A nukes every single strategically important spot of north korea >NK generals probably backstab rocket man and immediately begin peace talks with SK
the end
David Ortiz
>Fuck you
what the hell have i done to you why are you talking to me like this
Mason Carter
NK might get the military equivalent of a sucker punch in, but the US will rek their shit 100x more than the sucker punch. Especially if NK is the one who starts it, no world power can realistically support a country shooting off nukes
Levi Sanchez
No, fuck YOU, fuck North Korea, fuck Germoney, fuck National (((SOCIALISMSSSS))), fuck kremlin kikes, fuck Israek and fuck you shill kike. HEIL AMERICA
Jose Garcia
Nuke their artillery positions, swat their "air force" aside. Then start fighting in with infantry and armor. They don't have enough food for a protracted war and starving people aren't going to fight once they realize we aren't going to rape everyone to death.
Isaac Allen
I read an article that said Seoul, a city of 10 million, could lose half it's population in the first half hour of a non nuclear war.
It's only 6 minutes from the DMZ to Seoul by rocket.
We are fucked. Sell your Samsung stock.
David Price
Well for one we would not make the first move because if we got Seoul leveled from a preemptive strike, we'd be in huge shit.
So assuming North Korea would make the first move by attacking SK, Japan, or Guam or God forbid, our mainland, We would have a fleet of bombers in the air dropping nukes on Pyongyang and any known military bases. We would then bring warships and frigates to the coast and deploy marines on foot as well as the army personal stationed in South Korea. We would slowly move in as we sent drones to sweep and take out any known weaponry, war vehicles, and NK troops. Once we have completely crippled their weaponry and wiped out a good number of their military personnel, we would pull out most of our group troupes and begin working with China on how to deal with the refugees and the remainder of the military personnel. China would most likely take control of the situation at that point.
Jayden Powell
Even if we don't go nuclear, all of NK will be rubble be the end of the month.
Brandon Baker
North Korea is now on notice because of China enforcing the sanctions. 8 million barrels of oil will drop to 2 million next year. A quarter of nothing. North Korea needs to act now while it still has the capability. The North Korean army vastly outnumbers NATO forces in South Korea. The Nork plan is most likely to sweep the entire peninsula and deny easy NATO reinforcements. From there, if they are successful, NATO will need to launch an amphibious invasion. Whether or not it succeeds, the Norks will hide out in their immense tunnel network. They have more underground infrastructure than actual above ground roads. The idea for the Norks is most likely to bleed NATO dry and buy time to develop WMDs. NATO will not be able to defeat the Norks conventionally. That option was gone 30 years ago. The guerrilla war that will arise if NATO lands on the Korean Peninsula will rival the Vietnam War. You have an organized army numbering at least a million appearing and disappearing at will. That's not even taking into account the likely militias that will be conscripted.
The first year will be a bloodbath. At least 20 million will die, mostly civilians. That number rises even more if the Norks throw a bomb at Japan. Make no mistake, this will be the first real war the USA and NATO will fight since WWII.
NATOs plan is most likely to deploy enough men to South Korea as quick as possible to deny total peninsula control by the Norks. From there, the only way to end it quickly is by nuclear warfare. Otherwise, North Korea will last until every last bit of food is gone. And that could take years.
Bentley Powell
Moving in is the dumbest thing the US can do. A nuke can be the size of a small van. All the NK will have to do is plant one underground and wait for everyone to settle down and they'll wipe an entire regiment. The best thing to do is nuke it completely and have SK soldiers in small spread out units enter and administer the region.
Or we can wait 10 years for the army to fully develop killer assassin droids. Or wait 20 years for spaceships.
Jason Watson
In which case, its paramount that should it come to that, the Americans should not be the savages who validate that idea.
Adam Williams
sounds good. all commies deserve to be purged anyways.
Charles Wright
Lol no. All of those arty pieces are old and taken care of in a typical third world shithole fashion e.g. not. Easily extrapolate all of their infrastructure (read:military) and youll understand. Many people would die but not anywhere close to six digits unless they use cbrn agents very well. Which they probably couldnt.
Aiden Davis
Stupid fucking leaf. SK has the second most powerful army and Air Force in Asia only behind China and that's just due to numbers. I don't get you morons thinking SK is defenseless.
Connor Cox
Exactly, I am so fucking sick of people who don't know shit about military affairs breathlessly repeating bullshit about how NK will turn Seoul into a firestorm with all their attorney, etc.
Most of that "artillery" is rusted out old shit that would probably explode if the norks actually tried to use it.
Andrew Lee
I would set off a nuke under the sea off the right hand side. the water would wash away coastal defences, make a landing right behind the tsunami waves. taking the towns of wonson and munchon. half the troops would head straight for pyongyang the other would be to attack the border line from behind, while the troops are heading for the border between nk and south an aerial bombardment of the mountains that hold all the artillery.. but yeah its facing the wrong way on one side of the mountains, so attacking them from behind is the solution. job of the south is to stop troops rushing over the border. they wont know what hit them until its too late
Gabriel Kelly
It's not nearly as powerful as what the Norks can call up from the reserves. South Korea is technologically advanced, but that's all they can call on. That and the 70k ish Americans in Japan and South Korea. Seoul is so close to the DMZ that the wave of Norks will destroy in within the first week. This is a forgone conclusion. As well, I never stated that the Norks would actually be able to secure the peninsula. That's only what I'm guessing their plan is. Even with their outdated equipment, they are still a potent conventional enemy. Once they start rolling well, it won't stop until they occupy all of South Korea.
It's important to remember that every North Korean has grown up in the Juche mindset since birth. This ideology, while an off shoot of other communist defense ideologies, has been around far longer than any other "People's Army" type to the modern age. Their autistic devotion to Rocket Man will certainly lend a hand in the fight, especially since South Korean faith in the state has wavered since the uncovering of the witches council.
Total North Korean manpower, excluding people's militias that will inevitably be raised, stands at close to 8 million when you account for reservists. That is not a number to scoff at. Whilst American and South Korean forces have access to up to date equipment, the American forces have been fighting wars against ghosts in the Middle East for close to 20 years now. A war with a true enemy will require a drastic doctrine shift. As well, the South Korean army is unproven, and I'm inclined to believe that they will suffer without American guidance.
William Campbell
Your a fucking retard who knows nothing about war. You can't raise an 8 million person army from a population of 20 million. SK would have no problem in a conventional war with NK. Now be a good leaf and stfu before I have my Mexican gardener rake you.
Adrian Foster
>You can't raise an 8 million person army from a population of 20 million.
Why not? North Korea isnt a country with a military, theyre a military with a country. All the men are conscripted and i read somewhere that over half the women volunteer in the military as well. South Korea's main problem is how demoralized they are, even with their superior equipment, theyre basically the Asian Saudi Arabia militarily, they have no inclination or experience in war nor do they have a warrior culture like North Korea does. If the Norks prove to be fanatically loyal to the regime (which I expect, considering how brainwashed they are) it would be a tough fight.
Gabriel Hughes
It's estimated that North Korea has about 12 million people fit for service. What that means is defined by their own requirements, though I believe that number is well within the realm of reality considering their Juche policy. Are all of those 12 million healthy and young recruits? No, absolutely not. However, in a war on the Korean Peninsula that is a game changer. War is tied to politics, and you must try to understand the likely lengths the Nork regime will go to in an effort to bolster a campaign. Arguing with a dumbfuck redneck like yourself is futile, hopefully when you go to sleep tonight what I've said will start to sink in, you obese burger scarfing MEET niggerfaggot.
Mason Johnson
lmao, in unrestricted modern warfare larger infantry forces or even ground vehicles don't mean shit.
The winner will be the one with superior artillery, air forces, and positioning - in that order.
Evan Smith
All of that is negated or at least diminished by the existence of the Nork tunnel network which has been growing since 1945. As well, the Korean peninsula is very mountainous making artillery and positioning difficult.
I am not defending the norks or wish they would win. I want to see them burn. I'm only giving a general idea to their capabilities.
Kayden Smith
It's called population distribution and logistics. For every soldier you have several people providing food and equipment. For every person of military age and fitness you have several who are too young or too old. Unless you think that a five year old is worth a fuck as a soldier. In an emergency they could muster at most about 4 million people for about a month before they run out of supplies. Even with those numbers the half million strong SK army would have no problem driving right into their capital in under a week. SK is not Saudi Arabia in their training it's actually the most robust of any western country. But hey just ask the Vietnamese how soft the rock tigers are
Carson Watson
China would blitzkrieg North Korea while sleeper cells inside the NK government activate to assassinate Kim Jong Un and high ranking officials, then they would annex NK before either SK or the US can make a claim to it.
Mason Murphy
One thing a lot of people who keep saying "nuke the fuckers" need to consider is the geography of NK. In particular where its border is and who its neighbours are. If you are going to be firing nukes you are not going to be able to fire them close to the northern border. I would say at least 50 miles from it otherwise you would be drawing in Russia/China. On the southern border you have SK who would most likely be against any nukes within 50 miles of their people. This gives you a narrow strip in the center where you might be able to nuke. You can be sure NK has thought about this and would have troops and equipment concentrated in this non-nukable zone. I'm guessing at the distances but I'm sure Russia and China have said a distance they would find unacceptable.
Jordan Perez
It all depends on whether China interferes.
I know this sounds like a pre-WW1 argument, but our economies are so intertwined, I think we would warn china ahead of time and they would have some sort of veto power.
But... if we go to war and China doesn't get involved, it won't even be close.
Remember... Saddam had the 4th largest army in the world, at least for 100 hours.
First rule of war: Never underestimate your enemy.
David Sanders
>It's called population distribution and logistics. For every soldier you have several people providing food and equipment. You really think theyre gonna care about whether their soldiers are eating or not? All they need is small-arms to fight a guerrilla war. If anything the logistics and equipment nightmare is going to be on the SK/USA side >For every person of military age and fitness you have several who are too young or too old. Unless you think that a five year old is worth a fuck as a soldier. Wtf are you rambling about? CIA itself estimates that the NK armed forces are a little over 6 million in total. that means they have over 6 million capable of fighting >In an emergency they could muster at most about 4 million people for about a month before they run out of supplies. They dont need to last for long, in any conventional war time would be against USA, they need to decisively win early or they will look weak >Even with those numbers the half million strong SK army would have no problem driving right into their capital in under a week.\ Youre deluded. NK is mountanous and tough terrain, with millions of fanatical soldiers
>SK is not Saudi Arabia in their training it's actually the most robust of any western country. SK arent a western country
>But hey just ask the Vietnamese how soft the rock tigers are Thats like 50 years ago, user. South Koreans are more pussified than even the Japs now
Listen, Im aware USA would crush the Norks if nukes are used by both sides, but a conventional ground war would be a bloody mess, and South Korea would sustain heavy damage
Also, dont trust the Chinese, they already said in their offical news that they would intervene if USA attacks NK but would not intervene if NK attacks USA. China could literally transport a few hundred thousand soldiers to NK overnight and make this even more of a mess
Nicholas Gomez
that's an informed post. the guerilla warfare that they'd employ would cause a huge headache for american intel
sk isn't defenseless but it's been sort of apathetic to the situation whereas nk has stayed focused and preparing for war ever since ceasefire
>air force >underground
Sebastian Sanders
>miniaturized nuclear warheads >supersonic speed >precise tracking systems >capable of land/sea launch
kek, NK could be leveled without sending a single jet
Colton Garcia
>Saddam had the 4th largest army in the world, at least for 100 hours the utter delusion of some Burgers. Saddam was the 4th largest in the 80's when USSR and USA and literally the entire world was arming and supporting him generously against Iran. By around 1991 they were above average for an Arab army, but nothing special, no one was arming them anymore, with USA now against them and USSR gone. By 2003, the Iraqi armed forces were a shell of a shell of their former selves, with purges and the defeat in Kuwait and internal rebellions. When they got their shit pushed in in 2003 they were nowhere near a competent military
Jason Ramirez
You can also be asured that China has worked out resupply routes to NK. It is in Chinese intetests to have America bogged down in a ground war to weaken America even further. I don't know for sure but I doubt the American public have the stomach for a ground war where it would definitely sustain high casualties. I could be wrong but as soon as bodies started flying home draped in the stars and stripes attitudes would change.
Logan Jenkins
>can't use cbrn agents >literally had his brother killed in broad daylight with VX wot?
Cooper Flores
You are quite right that the ROKA is terribly demoralized. It doesn't help that the new president in South Korea is probably himself a "Jusapa"
Jackson Moore
there was a leaked memo from an american general that stated the norks could wipe out the entire american bases in sk within 4 hours or something like that
Wyatt Morgan
If the US officially declares war like in WW2. Then North Korea will be wiped off the map. If we don't we send in a few troops and fight another endless war where we are too pussy to bomb some shit.
John Murphy
>So if a war between the Norks and Burgers starts tomorrow morning, how would it go? Sort of like this: youtube.com/watch?v=4lwf38IKRLE
>Trump calls Nasty Nork names >Nasty Nork turns the US to glass >Nasty Nork gets BTFO
Blake Morris
>Most of that "artillery" is rusted out old shit
A gun is a gun. If I had an old revolver and you had the most advanced conventional handgun of today would you feel infinitely superior?
Do not underestimate old firearms. We are not talking about autos vs muskets here.
Joshua Clark
You have to consider that this is the only war they have been planning for. They have had decades to prepare and they have had the advantage of being able to watch American tactics year after year because they are in a perpetual state of war. They will have adapted and they will be prepared. I wouldn't be surprised if they had sleeper cells living near the US bases preparing for this.
Michael Hughes
emp east asia, emp north america, emp europe-nato, nuke seoul, nuke tokyo, nuke okinawa, nuke busan, nuke guam, nuke hawaii, nuke any us cities in range. tunnels will have norks across the border within an hour. deploy subs. activate sleeper cells. cyber and biochem attack against anything remaining. massive first strike is nk's only play. that's why escalation with nk is more dangerous than the russians who can absorb a first strike.
Mason Taylor
>US Armed forces steamroll NK military and takes Pyongyang in 24 hours, because they can. >begin 10 year guerilla war afghanistan style. >withdraw with tail between legs because liberals flip their shit and riot at home, ruining popular opinion
Trump failed when he didn't just offer an olive branch, by lifting sanctions and selling them thousands of GM products, all equipped with Onstar, of course.
Blake Powell
I'll fix it for you: >>North korea shoots nuke towards guam that may or may not be deflected by THAAD >>US of A MOABS and/or Rods Of God (if we have Rods Of God) every single strategically important spot of north korea because bukibg them could negatively affect South Korea &/or China from the fallout >>NK generals probably backstab rocket man and immediately begin peace talks with SK >the end
Carter Diaz
I want to make something especially clear; this war will not be a summer vacation in Afghanistan. Even without Chinese or Russian involvement (which is unlikely), this war will be a dramatic wake up call for NATO forces. No one has prepared for conventional warfare on this scale since the end of the Cold War. Even then, the militaries that were considered most prepared for conventional warfare during the Cold War (West and East Germany, France, and the UK) have been either underfunded for at least a decade and/or have become accustomed to desert warfare against islamists for the last 20 years. The problem with fighting an endless, relatively low cost (in manpower terms) war somewhere for a long time means that there will be inevitable degradation of doctrine for facing cohesive forces.
To illustrate this point, I enlisted in the CAF in 2001 and deployed to Afghanistan in 2002 at the age of 21. Now my 17 year old son is in, and just put his name up for a deployment. When two generations have fought a war, cultural norms are set.
Blake Thompson
You claim what he said was utter delusion, but then you offered literally nothing to refute his statement about Iraq’s army size being the forth largest at the time of the first gulf war. Also you do realize the Iraq Iran war ended in 1988 and the gulf war began in 1990 so it's not like there was some huge length of time that passed between the two events... They still had all of the military equipment that they had procured over the previous decade.
Joseph Turner
SK has the best military in Asia, period. I have trained with the SK equivalent of our SEALs in the past and they are fucking vicious madmen. The Chinese military is effectively hot garbage. China has never won a military conflict again a foreign power.
Juan Sanchez
yes, they're entirely prepared for war. sk has been somewhat complacent in that regard, probably optimistic for reunification. there's little doubt that there's sleeper cells. a scenario is that they can dress up as ROK soldiers and take out officials during meetings or hold them hostage
Caleb Davis
The second option wouldn't happen. North Korea's army is actually well trained and competent. They also wear uniforms. It would take a new kind of incompetence to fight them the way America's been fighting guerillas.
Henry Perez
>You claim what he said was utter delusion, but then you offered literally nothing to refute his statement about Iraq’s army size being the forth largest at the time of the first gulf war
USA beat Iraq in 4 days of ground war in Kuwait. They didnt conquer Iraq in 1991 in 4 days nor did they fight a total war on Iraq in 1991. Also, Saddam kept the majority of his armed forces within Iraq to combat the simulataneous Shia and Kurd uprisings that started when he got wrecked in Kuwait. The Iraqis had less than half their military in Kuwait. user is comparing apples to oranges
Jaxson Brown
>I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and Ive been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and Im the top sniper in the entire US armed forces.
Ethan Jenkins
Honestly its kind of one of the prides of American exceptionalism that our armies have never acted like that in a foreign war. Not many countries can say the same.
Liam Barnes
Whatever happens user, the soundtrack remains the same.
You would have less confidence in South Koreans if you knew the language and understood the culture.
There is essentially a massive campaign underway to delegitimize the Republic of Korea right now. It started with easy targets like Chun Doo-hwan and Roh Tae-woo, but like all of these campaigns there is no end to it, eventually everyone from Lee Sungman to Park Chung Hee will end up getting totally smeared as collaborators and dictators.
In this new reading of Korean history, it all started with the Gwangju Uprising or maybe in 1919. But the modern Republic of Korea is increasingly portrayed as totally compromised and shitty from the start.
This has a fatal effect on even those who want to be loyal to South Korea. How can you love a state that hates itself? How can you be loyal to a state that ultimately believes it was a mistake and shouldn't exist?
Ryan Hall
I give China a nod because of numbers. SK would run out of replacement barrels for their guns before China ran out of troops. You might note some other countries in Asia I don't give a nod to such as India and Russia. SK would hand any country in Asia its ass in a conventional war or Europe for that matter. China could just Zerg rush them to death.
Noah Anderson
More bombs were dropped on North Korea than were used in the European Theater of World War II and it ended in a draw.
Jace Baker
we win and the world gets to see some kickass fireworks. hopefully it will start the 2nd civil war here and we can rwds.
Gabriel Long
so it would have been a whopping 8 days. wow that really changes everything.
Ian Scott
How many Nukes were dropped on NK?
Lucas Baker
Ruskies going to EMP your ship again? Thing you should be most nervous about are your electronics. Most of your components are manufactured in China. It only takes one vulnerability/backdoor for the Norks to shut your shit down.
Jaxson Jenkins
Jin Jung En as we call KJU in Chinese. Is more or less the butt of jokes among all Chinese talks. From what I gathered from talks with family in PRC. The major topic right now is economical restructuring that is currently in motion, inflation, unstable stock markets (the stocks are floating while companies keep missing production and revenue expectations). South China Sea is some sort of EDZ for prospective oil reserves in case of major armed confrontation. Beats Africa oil which have to go through Malacca which hates China and also why PRC is having a deathgrip on HK. They have to give something to for the top brass, last thing they need is for them to sit still. So they are like in HOIIV doing crazy as battle plans and contingency plans while waiting for gotterdamung. Also the moment they engage with US/SK conventionally Most of Xi's new powerbase Zhejiang and cities of Beijing, Tianjin, Fujian, and Shanghai would see major disruption. The economically devastated NE China have no real commercial ties with NK as they've seen less overall demand for their steel from China proper, and whatever demand from NK is minuscule to sustain gigantic 50s steelworks and its costs.
Probably PRC would send a punitive expedition across the Yalu to act as a buffer zone and park all their fleet in the Yellow sea, then want a part of the peace talks after. That way they can install a NK general loyal to Beijing to maintain their sphere of influence status quo.
Mason Davis
Which makes me wonder how far apart the accents have become since 1950. Not that sleeper cells wouldn't have dead on SK accents from training.
Eli Hill
Yes but China's economy has a decent chunk in export focus to western industries. Once they lose that they will have such a domestic uproar that things might boil over. Xi might be a strongman, but not even Duterte would be that stupid much less Xi.
Lucas Mitchell
They probably do. However there quite a number of system operated solely by US alone separate from regional powergrid that might be compromised. These were originally designed back in the 1970s where then President Park of SK became quite unreliable and his regime quite unpopular.
Justin Johnson
...
John Edwards
you can just compare nork speech and souk speech. the dialect is strikingly different
Jackson Flores
Well the major problem I hear is the increasingly dismal economic outlook within cities. This might or might not blow over but I very much doubt they would appreciate installing another puppet along the lines of Park Chung-Hee by a foreign power.
The first major question is whether it results in nuclear war, something that's never actually happened. Say NK launches a legit nuclear strike. There's a decent chance it's intercepted, but the question of whether to retaliate nuclearly remains. Is China cool with us dropping nukes on their doorstep, or do they declare war with us over it (even conventional war risks tension with China)? Does Russia use us lobbing nukes as an excuse to start lobbing them, or any other country that has them?
A large part of it comes down to NK's nuclear capabilities. Specifically, how frequently they can accomplish a nuclear strike. In the early days of the US's nuclear program, that number was extremely low. If a nuclear counter-strike against NK risks a global conflict, it might be better to deal with NK's nuclear missiles, if they can't churn out that many, as a few nuclear explosions, which horrific, aren't a big deal compared to a global conflict. On the other hand, if NK has a huge stock pile, it'd probably be best to risk/control a global conflict and glass them, rather than suffer many nuclear strikes to multiple regions.
As far as conventional warfare goes, they'd get fucking steamrolled. We've spent trillions of dollars on the military capability to fight a conventional war. They literally do not stand a chance. HOWEVER, as most wars have featured some new and horrific incarnation of suicide warfare, I could see NK planting their nuclear bombs at strategic invasion points for the US, and detonating them once the US enters the area. Ultimately it wouldn't stop us, unless politics hits the brakes, but it would be devastating. The biggest issue would still be figuring out how to work with China.
Mason Harris
Not sure I follow? You saying the political elite in China rely on American consumption to keep their manufacturing class appeased? And that if America ceased consumption, China would fall into civil/economic chaos?
Benjamin King
Yes. There's still too much manufacturing and industrial ties with global trade to risk and type of American interdict.
Isaac Thompson
It's the same OMG the Republican Guard Wait No They're Dead Now OMG the Elite Republican Guard shit from Iraq. The media plays up the military of shitholes for three reasons that I can tell. >It adds tension and frission and is good for ratings. >they hate America and would like to see it lose a war and have a lot of US soldiers die, especially when a Republican is president >they're Baby Boomers and everything will always be Vietnam
It's utterly predictable. Look at fucking Russia, a nation we're actually concerned with and consider "near-peer." Look at their fucking aircraft carrier. It's held together by bird shit. Why does the media always pretend that places with rationed electricity will have everything just work? NK just sent a notice to its troops telling them to steal food from local proles to get ready for the war for fuck's sake.
We don't know what will happen of course, but we have a pretty good idea that much of NK's power is only going to end up existing on paper if put to the test. Exactly what they really can do is something we don't know, nor do they probably.
Austin Mitchell
Both anons ignore the harsh sanctions levied against Iraq ... Which had the effect of "softening up " the country ahead of the "shock and awe" 1/2 Sanctions on Iraq
The UN Security Council imposed comprehensive economic sanctions against Iraq on August 6, 1990, just after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. When the coalition war had ousted Iraq from Kuwait the following year, the Council did not lift the sanctions, keeping them in place as leverage to press for Iraqi disarmament and other goals. The sanctions remained in place, despite a harsh impact on innocent Iraqi civilians and an evident lack of pressure on Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein. A UN "Oil-for-Food Programme," started in late 1997, offered some relief to Iraqis, but the humanitarian crisis continued.
The US and UK governments made it clear they would block any lifting or serious reforming of sanctions as long as Hussein remained in power. After more than 12 years of sanctions, the US and the UK made war on Iraq again in March, 2003, sweeping away Hussein's government. Soon after, Washington called for and obtained the lifting of sanctions, a step that gave the US occupation authority full control over Iraq's oil sales and oil industry.
Oil-for-Food Programme After widespread criticism of Iraq's humanitarian crisis under sanctions, the Security Council adopted the Oil for Food Programme, which began to operate in 1997. The US-UK blocked many contracts, however, and serious humanitarian problems remained. The Program was suspended during the US-led war, and soon afterwards the Council adjusted it to provide temporary humanitarian supplies. The adoption of Resolution 1483 in May 2003 put an end to sanctions and foresaw the phasing out of the Program over 6 months and the gradual transfer of its administration to the US-UK authorities in Iraq.
Isaac Wood
War? Not likely. Politicians on all sides (even Norks) profit hugely from NK being a loud non-threat to talk about. As for outcome... >Norks open with shelling of Seoul using hidden artillery >Within two volleys, all artillery is destroyed by laser guided bombs and SK artillery b/c it wasn't as hidden as they thought >Ground battle goes in South's favor something fierce until South Korea can safely push back up into Nork country >American ground troops arrive, war turns into curbstomp >Norks end up mostly dead due to "muh deity leader" telling them to suicide bomb >Total victory for SK/US
or...
>One side (irrelevant which one) opens with nuclear arms >U.S. fires a few hundred from subs and such >Norks empty nuke supply >No Nork missiles make it to U.S. >No Nork cities aren't irradiated >Victory:U.S. as long as nobody decided to join in the nuclear funtime buttfuck
>UN Security Council: Disagreements and Debates on the Sanctions.
Russia and France, along with many elected members, were critical of the Iraq sanctions and tried to lift or substantially reform them. The USand the UK used their political muscle and veto power to keep sanctions in force and to allow minor reforms. But shortly after the US invaded Iraq and removed Saddam Hussein from power, George Bush urged the UN to lift its comprehensive economic sanctions against Iraq. Though all members of the Security Council agreed in principle that sanctions had to end, many Council members were concerned that a resolution would indirectly justify the war and acknowledge the US occupation.
>Criticism of the Sanctions From the earliest days of the sanctions, critics pointed to many serious flaws, including the humanitarian suffering of innocent civilians, the lack of clear criteria for lifting, and the failure of the sanctions to put direct pressure on Iraq's leaders.
>Statements Against Sanctions by NGOs and Prominent Figures Statements opposing sanctions against Iraq by several NGOs, members of US Congress, and individuals such as Archbishop James Weisgerber, former chief of UNSCOM Richard Butler, former UN Humanitarian Coordinators in Iraq Hans von Sponeck and Denis Halliday.
>Studies and Recommendations In more than a dozen years of sanctions, hundreds of reports and policy papers were written. Many such reports, discuss the humanitarian impact of sanctions, the sanctions' implications for international law, and related peace and security issues.

They literally have nether of the sort, stop being retarded. Third world shitholes can't even keep 1950s tech operational, what makes you think they have the means to deploy VX in meaningful quantities?
Christopher Lewis
We would preemptively strike their artillery and rocket batteries trained on Seoul followed out by attacks on suspected nuclear weapon sites. Then we would hit their airfields and armored vehicle depots to make the full invasion easier. With full air superiority the US and South Korean invasion force would commence the advance. I'd imagine that nk forces would be in complete dissaray from the close air support and artillery bombardment. I would hope that that many of their forces come to their senses and surrender enmass instead of being thrown senselessly into the meat grinder, but I do not know how far gone they are after all the propoganda and brainwashing.
Asher Bell
>We would preemptively strike their artillery and rocket batteries trained on Seoul they're hidden in mountains thus difficult to target
>followed out by attacks on suspected nuclear weapon sites they have mobile launch vehicles. they can fire nukes from anywhere. one of their recent tests was fired near pyongyang airport from one of their launch vehicles
>Then we would hit their airfields and armored vehicle depots to make the full invasion easier their anti air is up-to-date and they hide much of their vehicles underground
>With full air superiority the US and South Korean invasion force would commence the advance there needs to be an emphasis that nk's underground network renders air superiority sort of futile

All they have accomplished so far was hacking sony because of their butt hurt over that stupid movie. And they would need quite a significant number of emp's and accurate delivery methods to black out the US, in addition to all its ships at sea. Even in that unlikely hood, we would be out for only a small period of time.
Andrew Adams
I'd probably defect to NK and start killing every American I run across in Europe.

>they're hidden in mountains thus difficult to target We have advanced satellites and thermal imagery, if we don't find them that way then they will eventually have to reveal the guns position to fire it. Major South Korean cities would be evacuated if need be.
>they have mobile launch vehicles. they can fire nukes from anywhere. one of their recent tests was fired near pyongyang airport from one of their launch vehicles They will have to expose the launch vehicle to fire a missile, not only that but we watch nk movements on a daily basis so we probably have a rough idea where they would launch from.
>their anti air is up-to-date and they hide much of their vehicles underground We have stealth bombers and sheer numbers. They would only get a few off before the anti-air batteries would be neutralized. And their vehicles would have to be driven out in the open to attack us, therefore they are nothing but targets.
>there needs to be an emphasis that nk's underground network renders air superiority sort of futile If they want to hold back a full scale invasion force they aren't going to do by hiding in bunkers. When they come out to attack they get bombed, then we locate the hole they came from and drop some bunker busters to cave them in.

>It would take a new kind of incompetence to fight them the way America's been fighting guerillas. You'd better get ready for that then because we're entering new levels of incompetence

the jews from Mossad start a False Flag Attack to start a War with North Korea, by having an israeli Nuclear Submarine firing Nukes over Californian Cities and starting an Earthquake that will shake the San Andreas Fault Line, and break California into pieces, Literally. and in order to trick Trump into thinking North Korea did it, thus War with North Korea begins.
its Moloch who wants this, NOT KEK, because jews will do this False Flag as a Sacrifice to Moloch just like 9/11. jews worship Moloch and Hate KEK, and try to do anything as much as Possible to Attack KEK.
Trump better find out Quickly. the israeli Sub that will Launch Nukes to California is in the Sea of Japan already as we speak.
im all Warning you on this but you either Ignore me or Laugh at me. you will be sorry you didnt Believe me.

North Korea doesn't have the logistics to maintain or even mount any realistic offensive against the South.
Their few pieces of artillery capable of striking Seuol are clustered in a small section of the DMZ which makes them susceptible to counter battery fire and airstrikes (both of which will be completely saturating the theater). Just the sheer amount of munitions flying north and hitting targets would be shock and awe-tier, beyond anything we did in Desert Storm or 2003. Once the Navy moves it's assets from Okinawa and Japan over to South Korea the war is effectively ended.
Another thing to consider is the terrain, the entire northern border of South Korea is extremely rural and mountanious with sparse villages dotting the landscape, this means there are only a handful of routes the invading North Koreans could take. Almost half a century of military planning and civic construction means South Korea has turned any invasion from the north into the south into one giant death funnel for the North Koreans. Imagine entire mountain valleys and roads lined with explosives to impede any movement south. All of these units would be constantly harassed by air elements from both the ROK and the USN/USAF.
North Korea may have a shot of causing real damage if they manage to get some nukes off, especially if they nuke the DMZ and push through that opening, but beyond that they have no shot of establishing control over the south. The South Koreans are no pushover, and they'll fight tooth and nail with their equipment/logistics superiority and throw back any Northern invasion.
Anyone else saying "Well the North will mobilize millions!". Nigger, they can't even feed their fucking people and don't have fuel to drive their own vehicles, they sure as shit are NOT mobilizing millions of people, let alone getting them to the border in time and equipping them with the necessary hardware to mean anything.
