> A 25-page letter signed by 40 Catholic clergy and lay scholars was delivered to Pope Francis > [The letter] states that the pope has, by his Apostolic Exhortation Amoris laetitia, and by other, related, words, deeds and omissions, effectively upheld 7 heretical positions about marriage, the moral life, and the reception of the sacraments, and has caused these heretical opinions to spread in the Catholic Church. > [The signatories] respectfully insist that he condemn these heresies, which he has directly or indirectly upheld
Still following the Vatican II Sect, the Whore of Babylon, and its antipopes. A true pope cannot write heretical encyclicals, like antipope Francis does.

Its funny watching the catholic church collapse in upon itself

Oh hell yeah, Jew Pope BTFO

Finally some good news. At least we know at least 40 Catholic clergymen are not cucked to the max by Anti-pope Jorge "Christian blood for the blood god" Bergogliolololo.

A perfectly good Pope was forced to resign so we could have this asshole. How much longer can the Catholic Church go on like this?
Nathan Watson
He is Satan and will be treated as such. He must be removed and cleansed.
Jaxon Clark
This is stupid. It's nothing.
Amoris Leatitia is their only vector of attack because it is really the only thing associated with our Holy Father that can be used to support an accusation of heresy. And you really have to read the document in order to understand how weak and contrived their argument really is.
I don't support the context behind the Dubia, but at least the muckraking Cardinals had enough sense to know that accusing our Holy Father of heresy is the dumbest thing ever.
This whole letter is bullshit. None of the signees are cardinals. In fact, the signee with the highest standing is a Bishop in the order of SSPX, and therefore isn't technically Catholic.
It is just another flaccid attack against the Church, and I guarentee you it will be forgotten by next week.
Jackson James
Not so funny, m8.

Fuck the pope and fuck Southern Ireland.

Tjis The whole concept of accusing the Pontiff of heresy seems really sketchy to me. While Francis political views may be controversial , catholics arent obliged to agree with them. Francis has said nothing heretical during his pontificate. Even the whole "atheists can go to heaven" argument os shit because it has been in the Cathehism since V2.
Chase Rodriguez
The church is full of creeps that are into all kinds of disturbing stuff. Like Masonry. Sure they act all straight laced. That's because they have much to hide.
Bentley Edwards
Ah here. Leave it out leaf
Ethan Clark
Well, "atheists can go to heaven" is a gross simplification of Church teaching on the subject; more suited for a Reuters headline; but you're right. It is very hard to pin anything on Pope Francis.
You don't have to slavishly devoted to the Pope in order to be a good Catholic. Sometimes, our Holy Father can say things that challenge us, or force us to evaluate our beliefs. It is only when you have the ego to outright reject the authority of Christ's Church; that's when you have a problem
I'm in Australia right now, and with the same sex marriage issue, there have been incidences of priests and other senior Church members turning their backs on Church teaching because they felt challenged by it and are not willing to re-evaluate. They have the ego to trust their own malformed conscience over the Magisterium, which is backed by two millenia of philosophy, scripture, and revelation.
In that way, the ultra-progressives and the ultra-conservatives are the same. Two sides of the same coin.

This is a common criticism of Catholic morality and religious morality in general.
You can't just rely on your conscience alone. Otherwise, everyone would be coming to the same conclusions about morality. But everyone has a different idea of what is right and wrong. In fact, some of the worst atrocities in history have been commited by people who were convinced they were doing the right thing.
The Magesterium is like the collective conscience of over two millenia of philosophers, doctors, theologeans, mystics. These teachings came from countless highly intelligent people who did serious enquiry into morality and pooled all their knoledge over the years. And of course, at the center of it, is divine revelation.
If you could call any moral system on earth truly sound, Catholic morality is that. I'd trust it. Wouldn't you?

Anti-Pope. Based far right SS emperor pope was forced to "resign" and is now held captive in some villa. He never gave up the throne of Petri and said that being the represetative of God on Earth is until death.

>SCHISM WHEN The only bishop to sign this is already in schism. In contrast, the dubia had 4 cardinals, a bunch a bishops, and a bunch more bishops who didn't sign put publicly refuse to give communion to remarried.

Why do people on here idolize Benedict as some sort of far-right paragon?
He was saying things like Muslims worship the same God as Catholics, and that Gay prostitutes can morally use contraception (well, that's what the media said about him anyway)
If you were a Catholic back when Benedict was Pope, you would have been ranting and raving against him as well.

The church is too strict/overbearing on marriage like it was on confession a century ago. It's not saying divorce isn't wrong or marriage is unnecessary but the norms need revising.

>effectively upheld 7 heretical positions These people are fools drunk off their own self-importance. They don't seem to appreciate the gravity of the accusations they're making or even that they are based on very weak grounds that other statements by the very same pope would repudiate. Amoris laetitia doesn't and cannot change doctrine. The controversy is about the ambiguity of guidelines for pastoral practice, and the pastoral practice is about intramural diplomacy and more widely business in countries like Germany.
Caleb Gray
Bergolio is a heretic and so are you.

In Malta Bishops allow adulturers to receive communion. I'm sorry, but Amoris Laetitia does give room to heretical positions.
Jackson Wood
>- Your Holiness intervened in the composition of the Relatio post disceptationem for the Extraordinary Synod on the Family. The Relatio proposed allowing Communion for divorced-and-remarried Catholics on a “case-by-case basis”, and said pastors should emphasize the “positive aspects” of lifestyles the Church considers gravely sinful, including civil remarriage after divorce and premarital cohabitation. These proposals were included in the Relatio at your personal insistence, despite the fact that they did not receive the two-thirds majority required by the Synod rules for a proposal to be included in the Relatio.
There's literally nothing wrong with cohabitation before marriage. Just look at Exodus 22: >15 When a man seduces a virgin who is not betrothed, and lies with her, he shall make her his wife by paying the bride price.
No stoning, no lashes, no "they're unclean for months", no cutting them off, no sin offerings, no extra fines, nothing. It's purely old societal norms and not biblical norms they are breaking. It's only a sin if they get cold feet afterwards.
As for divorce, if the 'divorced' partner falls into grave sin, the Church teaches that they are spiritually dead. Marriage ends at death so it makes no sense to chain the faithful partner to the other past this point. Also God said He hates it and not that He doesn't acknowledge it. Since the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, give them absolution and move the fuck on.

Hence controversy about ambiguity.
If bishops encourage adulterers to receive communion, that's their fault for teaching what the Church does not teach and they must be in what is de facto apostasy. Generally speaking, bishops cannot allow or disallow adulterers from receiving communion in any meaningful sense. They can only teach, and the same with priests at parish level. So they (should) teach that you cannot take communion when in mortal sin because it's sacrilegious and means you're eating and drinking your own condemnation. But priests themselves cannot refuse to give communion to someone divorced and living in sin (even if they know this is the case) because 1) they don't know the person's present state at the time of communion (even if they attend with their new spouse!), and 2) it's a private matter. So all priests can do is to remind people of the Church's teaching, which hasn't changed. Hypothetically they could only reject a person who is very public/antagonistic about their position.
