Agreed, it's not even that the wife and the best friend just had an affair behind his back. They literally didn't care that he was raising a child that wasn't his, and conspired to have meetings with her actual father like everything's all fine and dandy and it's a christmas dinner. Like Christ, at least have the decency never to see that best friend again for the husband's sake, but man. And they go on and try and make the husband look like a bad guy for (understandably) going insane about this.

"By the time I knew, I was already married to you." So either she was fucking the dude like... weeks or maybe a month or two before the marriage, meaning that they were already engaged and likely in a long term relationship, or it was after they already got married.

It could have been a fling, or maybe they were childhood friends and had a night of passion. But there's nothing indicating that the husband was a better choice as a provider than the violin teacher, so it sort of seems like she fucked around on the guy, and married him anyway while being in love with another guy... for no reason.
